Thomas wants to be a Cowboy.

The Cowboys want Thomas to be a Cowboy.

The Seahawks are going to want to trade him.

Seattle offered him to us for a 2nd, we almost did it but Connor Williams fell to us. We offered a 3rd. So the two sides have been close to a trade already, and that was before a holdout.

Not saying he ends up in Dallas, but it’s silly to think it’s not a definite possibility.

They can afford to pay all three, if they wanted to.

Scheduled to have $40m+ in cap space (with a lot of flexibility to create even more) in 2019.

Money isn't the issue. Giving up draft picks is the problem, and I agree with the team holding fast on that front.

2nd is too rich for me, especially given how many good players have been traded lately for pennies on the dollar.
 
The question is how much does he have in the tank and how much does he want? He's up for 8.5M and holding out for an extension. Is he trying to get an extension or force a trade?

It's not just about paying him but Martin, Lawrence, Prescott and Collins in the very near future.

So, let me ask a question. The guy approaches the opposing HC after a game recruiting himself, which cannot sit well with his teammates, and then refuses to show up unless he gets what he wants with a year left on his contract. Is this the kind of guy you want? I didn't want him after that bush league move with Garrett but now he wants an extension which would not make him a Cowboy anyway. He seems like a real awesome person to me and I think his best years are behind him,

I get some wanting him for this young secondary but what the hell do you think he's going to teach them? And let's be serious here, the Cowboys do not have anyone close to Chancellor or Sherman. And it's not about Thomas, that secondary wasn't near the same with any one of those players out, they created synergy.

Jerry just said his biggest regret was not doing more to help Romo and Witten get to a super bowl. These are the exact opportunities they never took advantage of in the Romo years. If they aren’t offering next years 3rd, they aren’t serious about the upcoming season.
