No, the position is valued when they think they have an elite talent. That is a cop out and a very easy way to explain why you never address a position.

Well, hey, gosh darn our bad luck, the rest of the league took 'em right in front of us.

If it were truly valued and they loved Vea or Payne or whatever, they might have grown a pair and moved up.

But they didn't. And all we are left with here are fans like you pretending things are different.

Earth. Shattering. Guess what, neither do you.

Hey, Nick Hayden. Been there, done that. Thanks Rod. You genius you.

They can. I can tell you with supreme confidence that players like Maurice Hurst, Andrew Brown and Tim Settle will have a better pro career than the likes of Dick Ash. Care to make a bet?

Each and every year, players that are "inferior" outpace those chosen in front of them.

This just plays right into something I have been saying for a very very long time.

Marinelli is so overrated it is sickening. He loves to take inferior talent, make it average and then reap the rewards of what occurs. If I were him, in the twilight of my career, I would get of the chicken soup from chicken feathers business and demand real talent.

Look at Wade Phillips. He is way too old for this nonsense. He can coach up talent and they still got him studs to play with.

We allow his idiosyncrasies to affect what talent we look at.

Marinelli really needs a special talent on his line to actually do his job effectively enough to field a sustainable playoff team.

You do remember that this started with you claiming that Marinelli would have turned is nose up at Suh and other elite talent. Forest, trees. . . . .

they value other things too. What do you think was a bigger problem on defense last year, LB or DT?

I am not the one speaking for NFL teams. But thanks for admitting you were wrong.

Hayden used to get blown off the ball. Price, Ash, Collins, and Paea never had that issue. But thanks for the false equivalences.

And Hurst isn't playing the 1 and had a serious heart issue. The other two are slugs; look at their metrics. I will bet those other two won't be better in their second year than Price will be this coming year. Grandstanding on 4th rounders is not a good look.

And sure many prospects outplay their draft position. The vast majority do not. Shall we look at the numbers?

The middle of our defense is piss poor. It’s as if we decided to build our team the exact opposite of the old adage “from the inside out”

Dt’s garbage. mlb rookie. Safety a special teamer and a second year 6th round pick

We learned on offense and started building our o line. But yet to learn on defense

This team has a special place in their heart for special needs players.

They keep wanting to put a band aid over a gun shot wound on D. They don't want a run stuffer but someone that can get up the field on pass attempts?

I've had it with Irving and his BS! There is a reason why we gave him a second round tender and no team bit at the cheese. Smart move by FO and smart move by 31 teams to sit back. 2018 plays out and he's gonzo in my books. More opportunities for Ward IMO
For Ward to do what? Be a bigger bum here than in Oakland... The guy's a scrub we swapped out for Switzer.

Great news for us cause now unless some team is really dumb and offers this guy a big contract you could resign him on yearly deals or work something in the contract like they did with lee only tying it to off field issues not injuries.

Good grief, I wish this team would stop drafting and/or signing pot-heads.

We dont know what drugs he was suspended for - the league cant say. All athletes caught give either the recreational or mistaken suppliment excuse.

As a result of the suspension, Irving will forfeit roughly $685,000 in salary. Last year's suspension cost a little more than $150,000 in salary. Under terms of the substance-abuse policy, Irving will be able to take part in training camp and the preseason games. Once the regular season starts, he will be able to continue to work out at The Star but not take part in meetings or practices.

You do realize you are scoffing at 4th round picks while defending undrafted journeymen like Price and Ash, right?

Dudes an idiot clear and simple. That said I don’t think tha getting ridding of him right now is the answer. I wouldn’t sign or extend him beyond this season but keeping him for now may be prudent.

We may have enough on the DL to get by for 4 games and my guess is by the time game 5 comes around someone will either be hurt or underwhelming and Irving will arrive gets 2 sacks and folks will be back on the Irving train.

We do next year need to address this position up front problem is we always pick middle of the road

I told this board months ago when he posted that stupid Instagram picture. We need to get rid of this guy. I was laughed at, berated, and told I know nothing and it’s just a harmless picture. Well. That picture mean 1000 words right now. My whole thing was to trade him to Seattle for ET. Straight up. Guess that dream is gone. At this point. Cut him and send a message to the rest of the team. Enough is enough and stupidity will no be tolerated
