If we get Earl thomas and sign him to be the highest paid safety at 14million . We still have to pay Dlaw and Dak. Jimmy g just set the market at I think 27 mill. Lael Collins could make the pro bowl if he has a good season but thats an if. After this and two more seasons we have to pay zeke. I think we have around 65-70 mill in cap space someone may have to walk. If you had to choose who had to walk out of four players E. Thomas, D. law, Dak, or zeke. Which three would you keep and why and the one you let walk why?

Easy one.

Zeke.

You dont pay RBs. You draft them.

If Zeke after 4 seasons is still good i would consider the 5th year option. After that we still could FT him. So that would be 6 years of time for us to draft his replacement. After 6 years he will be on the downside of his career or may have 1-2 good years left. No need to give him a big 2nd contract.

They will have over $60 million in cap space next year and $100 million the next. They could sign all their key free agents twice with that kind of space. This topic is irrelevant.

In 2020 we sure have 100+ cap space. The reason for that is we only have 36 players under contract right now in that season. And that include our draft picks from 2018 and 2017. Which means there are not alot of players with experience on that roster.

Rosters are build for the actual and (maybe) the next season. You cant argue with cap space of the future when there is 25 players missing to even have a full roster.

...I'll know we've turned the clock back a decade or so where the only splashes Jerry's Cowboys made were off the football field.

The only way they are bringing this washed up vet in is at a very low salary. How many days till the pads come on:)

 A million other things have to happen before we are picking who gets left out because of ET. How about we cross those other bridges first, @davidariust24.

That's a lot of money for someone who will be warming the bench for ET 2.0.

Why are you worried about resigning Zeke? Zeke is under contract for 3 more seasons.

at his age, I wouldn't want him to be the highest paid safety. frankly his arrow is pointing down. he maybe better than what we have, but not elite any more....we have to stop living in the past.

and who should be left out? probably one of the CBs or 5th safety like one of the UDFA....

If we get Thomas it wont be at the max by a longshot, but if we do get him at the right price anybody not named Woods can hit the bricks.

As a season ticket holder, I love that he played at Texas. He is a stud, but my favorite thing is that he takes me back in time to the days of Earl Thomas Conley! Great memories..... All joking aside, I think this guy would do great things for our young defense, he has been there, done that and he really wants to win Dallas.

He's looking for a big payday. Someone to over spend. We shouldn't be that someone.

He seems like he wants to be the best safety in the league. Hopefully Heath shows him how to reach that goat level if we acquire him.
Dallas doesn't need the cap hit. They are just getting it under control. The Heath comment has to be sarcasm.

I do believe he would help our Dbacks but at what cost?

Would love to have him, he is a great talent with vast experience and is a playmaker whom I feel can make this secondary great. Having said that the most I would offer up is a 2nd rd pick, given his age and contract demands.
