He is like Trae Young ... pretty good when you say just go ball wild arse circus style.
But those 2 together ...yikes... when it comes to defense.
Isn't Trae Young an unproven rook who shoots the ball from everywhere, even to his own detriment? Or am I confusing him with someone else?

that's him. he's like steph curry on meth and plays far less defense.
i do think he'll be an offensive force but one that takes time to become efficient and i dont know that he has the athleticism to ever reach even marginal on defense.

Just heard on the radio that the Raptors are the favorites in the Vegas Sports books to land Kawhi Leonard in a trade.
The more I think about this the more sense it makes.

Toronto has prolly capped out the DeRozen/Lowry duo and is star hungry.

SAS likely to take 75 cents on the dollar to move Kawhi to the East and no bigger *** you then Pop telling Kawhi "go get your passport kid".

OKC took the same risk last year and ended up with BOTH guys they traded for (even when they desperately wanted to get rid of one of the 2 lol).

article on Doncic in Dallas.
Mavs-centric so yes a bit homerish.

https://247sports.com/nba/mavericks...and-Dallas-starting-5-and-rotation-119629450/

Doncic is a lock as a starter, and is entering a near-perfect situation for him to thrive in Dallas. As a ballhandler, he will have a dynamic slasher in Smith, a solid corner-three threat in Matthews, a deadly mid-range pick-and-pop threat in Harrison Barnes, and a dominant rim-runner lob threat in Jordan to bring the hammer down. He is so deadly with the ball in his hands, that his presence will free up everyone else in the offense to operate with more space than they have in previous years, which will lead to higher efficiency for all to enjoy. As a scorer, Luka will be able to move without the ball (something he could not do as much in Europe), get open looks from range, and cut to the basket. He is not going to have to be relied upon as a rookie to carry an offense, but instead be a conduit through which the offense flows and is amplified.

Doncic will be a starter in 2018, but the it is entirely possible that he may stagger minutes with Dennis Smith, a lot like the Rockets do with James Harden and Chris Paul, to give them that dominant play-making presence on the floor as often as possible. That is not guaranteed, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.

This is why the projection of specific positions is a fun game ... but there is some danger in thinking of Luka in terms of "a position.'' We've got him here at the 3. But in this system, he'll often do everything from run the point to play SmallBall 4. .... and contend for the NBA Rookie of the Year award along the way.

Looks like Toronto wanted out of DeRozan's contract. He wanted to stay in Toronto and Leonard will leave in 2019. Let's see how many games he even plays for them.
Not sure that's the case.
People love to swear things as if they are certain but Kawhi is very unlikely to blow off another NBA season and he'd be giving up 50M to leave Toronto.
See what happened with PG13.

Once discussed this all made too much sense for all involved.

Per Woj

Spurs have agree to trade Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a protected 2019 first-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

As a Raptors fan I am really torn on this. On one hand we get a top 5 player in the NBA when healthy. On the other, we lose a guy who poured everything he had into this city and to the fans. It hurts

Who is DeMar DeRozen? As a Spurs fan, am I going to like this guy? I just don't know how to feel about this trade.

great trade for toronto imho.
i am the rare person who loves this deal for both teams.

toronto was looking at a declining core that is well over the cap and locked in for years.
they needed the trade to go for it all now and it presents flexibility going forward.

kawhi is just a better version of derozan and toronto was a 1 seed.
you add a multiple time defensive player of the year to guard tatum or simmons in a playoff series.

they can trade kawhi at the deadline if that's just not working or keep him and let the salary expire.
between green and kawhi that would knock 30M off cap total next year.

danny green is also a pros pro so you get that hard working humble dude back.

Oh i like the trade. Just dont like how they treated DeMar. I think Kawhi when healthy and playing at his best is one of the top 5 guys in the NBA and he can do it all. DeRozen cant. So we will see. Its just painful for me as I watched DeMar grow in Toronto.
