Dallas is in a groove over the last month, back to .500

The Astros, despite injuries to key players like Correa, have the 3rd best record in baseball. If they can remain healthy, they will have the top record come postseason.

To me having the best record during the regular season is just about meaningless.

Most important is winning your division so you don't have to do the one-game wildcard.

They had the 3rd best record last season and it worked out pretty well.

Don't know about that one. The way Charlie Morton was dealing in game 7... Wow!

Plus the ever unreliable Ken Giles gave away game 4 in NY.

I hope the Astros can find someone that will take him near the trade deadline. I don't want him stinking up AAA Fresno either.

I'm hoping that they offer the O's Ken Giles and a lower end prospect for Zach Britton. Britton would most likely be a half season rental and had the Achilles issue.

I can dream, can't I?

Ummm......yeah. Giles untradeable.

Britton will take at least two nice prospects. Take Whitely and Tucker out of the equation, and then talk to them. Think Alvarez.

I wouldn't even give them Alvarez for a LESS than half a season rental and someone coming off surgery from an Achilles injury. I'd rather wait until Whitley is called up in September and throw him in the bullpen.

I agree for the most part, but just once, I want the Astros to be the top dog in the regular season. The Spurs, Cowboys, and Penguins have done it. Just one of my teams left. Be 1 going in and be 1 coming out with another WS trophy.

Not sure of the rules, but I think you have to have them on the roster before then to be eligible for the playoffs.

Tough one. What if if made us the favorites to win it all?

Experts are slamming the Familia trade. The Mets got two fringe prospects for one of the better relievers in the league but they did get an extra million dollars in International Money. Wow. That should help the Mets in about five years. The Yankees traded their best reliever to the Cubs a few years ago and got a top five prospect in major league baseball. The Mets trade their best reliever to a team and get a potential top 20 prospect in the Mexican League. Embarrasing but the Wilpons dont care. The main factor of the trade was the A's paid the rest of Familians salary. That was the driving factor in getting the deal done.

Any trade by the Wilpons is driven by money, some kind of financial restitution. I didn't expect to get much for Familia anyways, he had minimal trade value.

I am glad he is gone, no where near the pitcher he used to be and even then, he might have been slightly above average. He rarely had a clean inning and blew many leads.

Nice to see Trouty break out of his mini slump today. It means nothing for our club, but Ramirez is closing in on his at one point shoe-in MVP. Betts is right there, too. The BPWAA wants to give the award to Trout, but he still has to earn it.

It would be nice if he had more protection than Upton, who should be batting 5th, in the lineup.

Carrying the Halos roster, as well as the All Star game break, sent him back a little bit.

Expecting him to break out now and separate himself from the pack. He let everyone catch up to him. Time to pull away and finish with 12+ WAR. He was tracking a 13 WAR season at one point, but this last slump of his probably puts that out of reach.

Stros fam, ignore my back and forth with Biggems in the Astros thread. I will fiercely defend Mike Trout. It's no shade meant towards Jose. Just me going after a scrub who probably watches 15 games a year and is a pure homer.

He's cock strong on his Pens winning recently and now the Stros, so he thinks he has some high horse to throw shade.

I expect any true fan of the sport to not be irked by my comments, especially my fam in here.

Most of us know there's no denying who the best player in the game is. No matter the team affiliate.

I've never, ever, lessened the Stros greatness. Only the most respect for Altuve. Supported his MVP win, and celebrated with y'all when you guys beat the Doyers last year.
