More proof : Dak thread

I didn’t say that. I didn’t comment on what would be good or bad at all, I merely commented on the fact it won’t be nearly as difficult to replace 1700 yards as you indicate.
omer i agree----i think we will do much better than many anticipate with our new receivers

Is a shame that didn't get tweeted a few months ago . If the Cowboys knew they had a QB as good as Brady, they probably wouldn't have gotten rid of all their receivers and abandoned the passing game.
So why didn't your Squeelers go after Dez if he is so good?

Replaced by younger, faster and more athletic players.

almost, Witten moves on to the HOF where he belongs. Dez is intense, maybe too intense, but an awesome athlete, Butler never synced here.

Look, at the end of the day I'd rather the cap savings on all 3.

were they replaced with younger, faster? yeah, more athletic? we'll see.

will they be more productive? probably. which comes back to keeping Dak on his feet and fixing a rather busted OL. They got lucky with Williams still there in R2

Last year was not about Zeke ... but he averaged almost a yard less a carry. It wasn't about Dak ... but his numbers were down. It was about Tyrone ... 2.1" sack time, next to worse in the NFL

I never claimed he was so good, certainly not good enough to show up on the Steelers' depth chart. The WR corps was an issue last year, and they did the bare minimum to address their lost production from the guys that are gone. That's why fans are talking about replacing that production by spreading the ball around.instead of how this receiving corps will fix the issues from last year.

They cut bait with a guy that was being paid way too much and replaced him with much cheaper guys that have a shot at offsetting his loss . That's a smart financial decision, but it does nothing to improve on what happened last year

What if they addressed Chaz Green's mediocre play by bringing in a guy that should be able to match his performance from last year - and if they're lucky possibly be a little better?

Brady usually doesn’t have great WRs so maybe they’re trying to mimic that lol.

This is the year. Year 3 should give us an idea if Dak is the future...

Quite a list. We struck gold in the 4th.
We will know we struck gold with Dak when he is able to get to a point where consistent pressure in a game doesn't turn him into a different (and inferior) QB.

The important thing to understand is that he's very good when pressured on a play as long as he isn't getting pressured a whole lot in the game. And that when he is getting pressured a lot in the game, he's terrible even from a clean pocket.

I'm willing to bet the yardage is in big favor of the other guys...

Not to mention we're comparing two years worth to nine years which isn't fair at all for the other players

ummm ... over a 9 year period, hundreds of QBs played in the NFL

You're assuming the additions won't be better. We don't know yet, but Bryant wasn't working out and Witten was slowing down. And the staff addressed much needed talent. A LB was one of the weakest links on the team. A guard because we saw what happened with a garbage LG and 2 WRs and a TE in the draft. Plus we brought in FA.
I'd like to wait until they play, but it looks promising from a chemistry standpoint alone.

But Pittsburgh has spent plenty of draft capital to keep a viable WR corps going. They don't let top guys go and replace them with 2nd tier guys from other teams. They let top tier guys go because they have top tier guys behind them ready to go.

They've got the top #1 and a top 3 or 4 #2 in his 2nd year and they still spent a 2nd rounder this draft.
Plus, if we're going to start drafting wisely at the WR position, we just got a great start, focusing on route running and speed. That's two areas we've been strangely avoiding in the past when drafting the WR position, and it's why PITT has been able to get their WR's in the mid/late rounds.

It's funny how so many teams ignore route running when drafting WR's. The three most important facets to drafting WR's are burst out of the breaks, lateral agility, and hands. And yet, teams focus on something else, for some strange reason. I mean, this isn't rocket science. So, while teams like DALL have been drafting WR's early, teams like PITT just keep drafting route runners and speedy guys in the mid/late rounds.

Hey, nothing works all the time, esp in the draft. So, you have to find a formula and stick w/ it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
