Just another reason I'm glad we drafted Zeke

Just because teams got away from drafting RB's high. Fans now think they are wasted picks.
But Dallas drafts a RB high, now other teams are doing it again also.

I bet all the high pick / Zeke haters thought Barkley was a great pick for the NYG.

It is a copy cat leagues, and Dallas set the tone to start RB's high again, and some fans don't like it.

Barkley was the dumbest pick the Giants could have made. Wayyyyy worse than the Zeke pick. I love the Giants new management.

1. Drafted Barkley over Darnold, Rosen, and Chubb
2. Traded for trash Ogletree
3. Signed above aversge Solder to the largest Oline contract
4. Signed washed JStew to a solid RB contract
5. Let two of their best Olineman walk on an already bad Oline

Only saving grace is Will Hernandez falling to them in the 2nd, and them getting a 3rd out of the Bucs for JPP

So no, you're wrong again. The Barkley pick was stupid

I still would rather have Ramsey strictly because I would never draft a RB that high. But I feel like there is absolutely nothing we can complain about with Zeke. He is really really good.

I generally agree with that, but when a team is built this much around the run, I think you do.

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for running backs, too. Dallas should always have a Dorsett or Emmitt in my mind.

One of the reasons I wasn't in favor of that pick. He would have been wasted here.
We get our CB's the hades beat out of by our refusal to address the middle. Also our LB's. We just don't understand the proven philosophy of dominating the LOS. W/ the new penalties, it's more important than ever, but we just go on whistling past trotting out slim ninnies in the middle.

Still can't win unless the offense scores points. Unless you are the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. But even Dilfer got some points for them.
Or the Broncos just a couple years ago....

And with our oline we would have been fine scoring points lmao

I have always wondered if the 90's cowboys won because their defense was so good, or that their offense was even better. our offense simply imposed their will on the bills great defense. then again, coaching might have had something to do with it.

There's no actual backing to this statement what so ever.

And if nobody has noticed, our defense shaping up pretty damn nicely. Ramsey would have been just fine here.

Name some guys who are playing at a higher level defensively?

Von Miller and JJ Watt have fallen off. Who else?

I think you're being way premature w/ that last statement.

And Ogletree is a top 10 ILB. Not sure why you'd see him as trash.

Ramsey - no real issues off the field

Elliott - issues off the field

What Ramsey said was stupid and dumb and arrogant but he can play and might be the best CB in football. And to date, he's never put his PT in jeopardy by doing stupid things off the field.......... Elliott has.

So I found your conclusion a bit of a stretch.
Elliott did not put the team in jeopardy at all. Stupid Goodell did

I keep hearing how our defense is shaping up nicely but I'll wait until the actual games start. I've heard this talk year after year only to end up disappointed. They play okay against subpar opponents and can't stop the winning teams when they need a stop. On paper they look like they should be improved but we'll see.

The Rams started it with Gurley and he was injured when they picked him.

What I believe has happened is that the GM's began to realize that there really aren't that many #1WRs available and they're absorbing too much cap like Bryant and Thomas in DEN and that there are better RB's than WR's. They also realized the need for balance because they're not making as many elite QB's anymore but there are always good RBs available. And it is easier to find better run blocking OL than pass protectors.

And look at JAX letting Robinson and Hurns walk after getting Fournette. They seemed to forget how they ran their offense through Fred Taylor when they were a factor.

He was a good ILB, he's far from that now.

Giants fans are pissed after seeing him in preseason. He's five steps behind TEs in coverage. And for the record he was the 61st rated ILB last year by PFF. One of the worst in the league.

How the Rams were able to get value out of him with that bad contract will forever be an anomoly.

There's very few defensive players I'd take over Ramsey. I would take one Donald over two Ramseys.
Since it's incredibly hard to find that inside disruption, and inside disruption is key to most super bowl runs, I'd also consider Heyward, Cox, Cam Jordan, McCoy, and Jurrell Casey.

Imagine this team and QB without Zeke at Running back.....yikes
Dak averaged more yards per attempt without Zeke on the field, and we averaged higher ypc without Zeke on the field last year.

That's with Tyron and Zeke missing most of the same games.

They spin every season like when they were all gaga over Gathers and making comments that no one could cover him.

I am with you, the proof is in the pudding, not talking about the eggs, sugar and milk before it gets real. And vanilla ain't gonna cut it, we need some good nanas in this pudding.
