Just another reason I'm glad we drafted Zeke

I think if just the player talent was involved, Ramsey wins with fans of the team or non fans.

And I would take the back to back picks of JAX of Ramsey and Fournette over Elliott and Charleton. But they were looking at that season and not necessarily the future with the Elliott pick. They were one season removed seeing how the RB affected the offense and record and they duplicated that in 2016 with Elliott. They also saw how the RB and TOP helped their D.

QCE, hard to fault them for taking either player but I don't think 2016 comes close to that without Elliott on board, he was the catalyst. Long term, we'll see how that shakes out but I am not big on 2nd contracts to RBs anyway or 15-17M a year for a CB. And I do think Ramsey is heading toward the fattest contract for a D player in league history. Since the CBA, don't see a lot of teams in the SB with that.

To me, Elliott and Charlton>Ramsey and Fournette. I am sold on Elliott as a franchise back and Charlton as a 1B DE. I am not sold on Ramsey as a 1A cornerback or Fournette as a franchise back. Clear choice to me.

When the camera is on?
That's not really fair since we don't see him except when it is on. Zeke strikes me as a guy that would be good with kids because I think he is a big one himself.

I think he's had trouble maturing and getting all of that money and celebrity status hasn't accelerated that process. I try putting myself in his position at that age and knowing my past, I would be worse. Living large is a hell of a lot more fun than keeping a low profile and Dallas is a great city to live large in.

Zeke is still just a big kid and he has had some sobering experiences to deal with but that can help him mature faster.

I don't know if anyone here has experienced it, and I sure haven't, but can you imagine what it would do to your mind to be a god among people? That's what he was in Columbus and one of the reasons the prosecuting atty didn't want to pursue it. Could have been a career killer either way. Then he becomes a Cowboy and not just a Cowboy but a Cowboy star and that's a big deal in Dallas.

And I'll be candid, I'd like Zeke a lot better if he'd not try to look like the Wolfman with the hair thing and I realize that's his business but that's also my preference. That beard/hair actually makes him look like a crazyass WWE guy.

That's what makes it go round, differing opinions....even if yours is wrong:cool:

I am not big on Charleton and thought he was like Claiborne and Marcus Spears, a product of the D. But I thought the same about Bosa and was wrong about that.

I am not sold on much of anything with only two seasons for two and one for the other two. My point is that I did not see any better player for what this team needed and needed to do in 2016 than Zeke. But had Fournette been available, I could have seen that pick as well because with this OL, he could lead the league as well, if he could stay healthy.

I dont like that Zeke wears red off the field. Only cowboys colors all day every day. m I right?

Dude's representing the school that got him to the NFL and made him a superstar before he ever became a Dallas Cowboy. As a college student myself, I have zero problems with that.

Zeke is an absolute tank but I wish we had a better 1B than Smith because I see the Cowboys doing to Zeke what they did to Murray. Run him into the ground and then get someone else. I could actually see them let him walk after his contract is up, which is a bad use of the #4 overall pick in the draft but it's not my call.

Admit I'm wrong with what?

Dude STHU, dont just talk to talk.

Either peice together a somewhat coherent argument or keep to yourself.

CC at least put together a well thought out argument, and admitted to shrot term thinking being the difference in our opinion. I'm not going to switch over to shott term thinking so while it was well thiught out it didnt persuade me out of mt position.

Here's the stage you want so bad

Ok, so you start with the insults when you can't prove your point. I had yo on ignore for a long time. from your insults before. So back on it you go this time for good. As usual the persons I put on ignore, then remove show me again why they were on ignore.

You are just a hater of this team, and probably are pretty hateful about life. Get out of your moms basement dude, there is a lot more to life out there then constantly being negative and insulting.

Do not bother to respond, as I will not see it.
If you want an argument, I will give you one, and prove myself right as I have done so. But the insults and stupid comments do not fly with me. So I am giving that back to you before I put you on ignore.

Oh, is that your mommy calling you now....

Ya see, I get that. That's the Earl Campbell Syndrome, run their legs off and get another. I might take his option year and might tag him the next, if there wasn't a comparable RB in the draft. I would be drafting a RB in the first 2 rounds every 4 years and do the same with WR's but stagger them. My money would be on that line where payoffs for 2nd contracts are more common.

QCE and jazzcat, knock it off and debate the points not the poster. No reason to get into calling names and insults. You are both above that.

I've heard reports that if the front office didn't select Ezekiel Elliot with the 4th overall pick in 2016, Jalen Ramsey would have been the pick.

Ramsey has quickly become the type of player I despise- arrogant, cocky, and just an all around loud mouth. He rips other players on a regular basis and just seems like he will eventually turn into a toxic player in the locker room, if he hasn't already become one.

I don't care how good Ramsey becomes. No player is worth those kinds of constant distractions.

So glad we went with Zeke.

Arrogant, cocky, AND "SUS"!

that does not fly on this board, remember when Patrick Crayton talked, he was told to shut his face?

St Patrick's day "incident" was nothing, hell the girl said she was fine with it. His trouble off the field was bogus and he was the subject of a court Kangaroo Courts call Kangaroo Courts.

Zeke has been badly mistreated.

I liked Crayton's attitude, too. Though I'm in a huge minority there, I think.

St Patrick's Day was nothing from a legal perspective. As a measure of his personality and maturity, it was not nothing. It was poor judgement for a guy in his situation any way you look at it. It's great that the girl didn't mind--and I agree she obviously didn't--but that's not the point.

Give me a guy who runs his mouth about football to one who's making headlines for poor personal decisions anyday.

I agree that Elliott got shafted with the suspension, btw.

Can't do that where I came from but that would be interesting. As I recall, it centered around those 3 players on the old DC.com one and the funny thing about it was most were all over Booger for taking CB's in the 1st and I'd bet the majority wanted Ramsey. I didn't but not because of that.

SD taking Bosa really shocked everyone. They were so clever about it. They even told everyone they'd been locked in their choice a month before the draft and had no plans to trade. People assume it was Ramsey or Tunsil , but it was Boas all along.

The Cowboys Zone was mostly spilt between Zeke and Ramsey..or a trade down.

Tons of elation when the pick came in and some gnashing of teeth too. lol

Many thought the Cowboys were trying to trade the pick based on the war room vibe.

Anyway, it worked out great for all of the top 5 teams picking that year.

Tunsil never struck me as a franchise player. I was always pretty sure it was Elliott, Jerry still remembers the Morris Claiborne debacle.

He's also never been suspended and happens to already be the best corner in the game.
