Tell me why you’d pay Dak?

Dak is not going to get a big contract.

Certainly not the way he is playing now and I am a Dak fan.

I want him to perform well enough that the Jones' have to figure out a way to pay him. The alternative is.........*shudder*.

He needs serious positional coaching help immediately and I don’t mean the friends and family plan that we have in place. Moore may ultimately turn out to be a good football coach at some level, but we need someone in here with a little more experience to simplify Dak’s role and turn this offense around. It’s pretty clear what good DCs are doing to Dak, this should have been emulated in practice this summer and a solution found. Total crap that he’s regressing along the same trajectory as last year.

Maybe Dak can’t handle an above average defense, but that should have really been determined in the offseason and remedied. This idiot front office lucked into 2016 and has been coasting ever since. Pathetic.

Dak won't get a second contract with us if he continues playing like he has now. He will move on and want a change in scenery and Cowboys will draft for the future with a new HC.

This team is nearing the rebuilding stage. Hell, I'd even ask why we should pay Zeke in a few years? I'd slap his butt on the trade block and see what we can get.

There needs to be a radical improvement between these past 9 games and the rest of this season to see a big contract like you describe.

Bortles got a 3 year, 54mil contract...which does not scream "franchise QB" but does lock him up for awhile if they want him.

Or nothing.

So many fans are overreacting about Dak. While I am worried about him, just like many, I don't think he is alone in the failure of this offense. He had a great rookie year, and statistically, he had a good second year. If he can't produce wins and offensive production this year, then we draft a potential franchise QB and let Dak play out his fourth year of his rookie contract. It is not rocket science. If this year is as bad as everyone is predicting (after 1 game), you are going to see wholesale changes...new coach, new staff, new players, and most probably a new QB.

We need a coaching staff that can when while Dak is cheap like Seattle HC and staff did going to back to back Super Bowls.

But this HC and staff is incapable of doing that. So do not worry about paying Dak.

What, a cover 4 man? The linebackers are showing blitz, but they still have to account for the TE and RB. It is the WRs job to beat man coverage, not Dak's.

QB purgatory sucks
Top prospects cost a lot of draft capital + have a high bust rates
Currently looking like a top defense. Would suck to waste it looking for a QB.

Why I would pay Dak? Me? Can he drive a combine? Operate a fork lift? Drive a tractor? Lot's of reasons. How much? Goin rate is $20/hour. As a QB? About 15 mill/year because I'm an optimist
