I really like Dak's playmaking ability (scrambling, throwing when he rolls out) and leadership, but his accuracy and his ability to read defenses is hurting the team. Throw in that he doesn't have NFL-quality coaching and the kid doesn't have a chance.

I questioned his accuracy and QB IQ coming out of the draft and was crucified here for it.

IMO it can be a combination of things. Dak is hearing footsteps more than he should, which throws off his mechanics and rushes his reads. The coaching and scheme should help cover some of that but it isn't.

All of it can be worked out, no one should be running Dak out of town but of course they will.

But we're not handing him any sort of contract extension either, right?

Exactly, he has to improve on this or the team will eventually upgrade the position.

If you have a weakness in the NFL opposing DCs will kill you with it until you prove them wrong. Guys like Kaepernick and Tebow proved that. But plenty of QBs do go through these kind of adjustments, Drew Brees had a stretch like this in his second season as a starter and ended up having a HOF career.

Needing to be more accurate is stating the obvious. Now, how does he go about doing that? Do we think he's not trying to be accurate? What analyst hasn't pointed out that problem. That and reading D's were the two reasons Casserly and Polian had him no higher than the 4th round and a long shot as a starter.

I noticed Aikman left part of what he's said in the past about young QB's coming into the league. He's not seen any QB's solve the accuracy issue once in the NFL. If they could have, Tebow would still be playing.

And it's not just about accuracy but consistent accuracy. We've all seen Dak made some great throws but he can't seem to do that consistently. He'll go high or low too much.

The reason, Bryan, he doesn’t have a run game is because teams are no longer worried about him beating them with his arm.

So they load up against the run and focus on Elliott.

exactly and this type of pitiful evaluation by Bryan is why he isn't a scout any longer. I've been saying this about Dak since last year. his scouting report out of college was that of poor mechanics and inaccuracy. nothings changed.

Troy is right , again .

On the other hand, Garrett said in the post-press conference that the players are getting better week by week; its the communication that is not working .

Good thing we hired Kellen Moore as QB coach.

Can accuracy be improved upon? Can anticipation be taught? Dak has looked bad, but I think he needs better coaching. Romo or Troy would be great, but they're both busy. We should've brought Norv back when he was available.

I agree but he might have posed a competent threat to Jason Garrett. And that's why I feel it's never happened, despite numerous opportunities.

Don't think so. Its his third year as QB. David Carr beat him pretty badly in the accuracy competition and he's been retired forever now.

Thank you Troy! It might seem obvious but apparently the coach & GM don't see it.

This excuse its the receivers is BS. Watch the plays and there are open receivers. He doesn't see them. He doesn't pass the ball when they are coming out of their breaks. Even that TD pass he threw was late.

I know we are stuck with him at QB this year but fans need to demand better play. Or we will be stuck with him and a new contract.
