If anybody is "lazy" here, it's you. You have yet to support anything you're trying (and failing) to claim.

So now we go back to the cliches like "yada yadda" and "burn barrel" nonsense? Really? Again?

So you've got nothing then?

#4 in rushing.

In case you missed it, there are two key components to "offense", not one.

That is better than you think when that is your main goal as an offense.

"Your main goal" is scoring.

The fact that your defense is really good and just held the #6 offense to 1 td....ya, that is why the offense is better than you think.

So yeah, because the defense is great, that doesn't make "the offense better". Work on figuring that out.

No. I’m telling you that stats like passing yards are only important in fantasy football. @jobberone makes a good point. You need to score about 27 points a game to win in this league.

The Chiefs threw the ball 46 times and ran 20 times (some of which were scrambles). You’ll score more points that way but you’ll surrender time of possession and more turnovers.

There’s more than one way to skin a cat. You don’t need to try to score 50 points to win games. When you control possession, the other team can’t score.

See the 2014 and 2016 Cowboys.

The part you are missing is that we haven’t beaten any good teams. Obviously you gotta play who’s put in front of you, but this idea that we have a winning formula because we beat 2 bad teams with horrible D’s is way premature right now. I’m not saying we have to score 50 and beat the Saints to be considered good, but we are 5-5 with 5 wins against teams with a combined 18-34 record. So maybe it’s not so crazy to take a step back and look at the bigger picture?
And I’m not saying you have to be a pessimist and crap on the team either. I just don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to make reasonable judgement on the team. But I guess that’s life...people tend to take extreme sides on any issue it seems.

I don't know about, destroy, but we have been playing better. We need to beat the Commanders and continue to show improvement. Consistency is the name of the game, now.

What was that again? Consistency, not talent? Hoooah!

* (that would include the element of coaching as well)

People insist on letting their fandom override their ability to reason.

Teams won’t score that many points on us if our offense plays the perfect game.

Last night there were 3 defensive touchdowns, 5 or 6 turnovers?

If we string together long drives, convert on 3rd downs, don’t turn the ball over, nobody can beat us if we score 35.

Well we have scored over 30 points ONCE all season. And in the last two games, where apparently we've taken the step towards offensive greatness, we've scored 27 and 22 points (22 came against a terrible Falcons defense by the way). So I am not sure where you think you are going with that last comment.

You basically told us why this offense isn't better than we think with your first sentence. For them to be effective, they have to PERFECT. When you need a perfect executed game to muster 22 or 27 points, guess what? Your offense isn't as good as you think it is.

That's the problem and why this team will likely stumble at some point. Their success relies largely on the fact that the offense has to be perfect week in and week out and that's simply not sustainable. They have a razor thin margin here on offense between winning and losing.

Two away wins over two weeks has proven something already. The Dallas passing game has moved from 24th to 15th? This past week...

What measure are they 15th?

They are 22nd in passer rating. 28th in yards per game. 27th in TDs. Even advanced stats like Football Outsiders has us at 28th in passing O.

Thanks stash...so much knowledge i have gained through this exercise. It really makes me wonder how the Cowboys won 3 superbowls in the 90s and the Giants won 2 with parcells with this philosophy.

Must be antiquated thinking.

I don’t get why the offense should get +4 points credit for the Beasley drop. Isn’t Beasley part of the offense?!

There's nothing wrong with that. Imagine how great it would be to just enjoy the games and cheer, instead of getting so wrapped up in it that you start booing the wins. That would be beautiful. To each their own.

Good luck there. He'll produce nothing to support his claims and then try to blame you.

It borders on mental illness.

The change in scheme as well as the lineup change at left guard have certainly looked like improvement these past few weeks. And thank goodness for that because the passing game is still grossly sub-standard.

Washington will provide a real test for improvement on Thursday. They shut down Zeke and the running game completely the last time the two teams met. That's needs to be much improved if the Cowboys are to win this game.
Actually the zone blocking scheme fits Connor and his athletic ability. I think he will flourish in the scheme.

Our passing offense and our defense was built off of the ability to run the ball. We are actually built to beat teams like the Saints and the Rams. We need to only execute.

Exactly who is "booing wins"? No need to try to bring a Strawman into this.

The falcons have an awful defense and we barely wpn.

And had zero turnovers.

Think about it this way............ we were very good on the ground, we had zero turnovers, we were over 50% on third downs and only gave up 2 sacks............ and we scored 22 points and squeaked out a win against one of the 7-8 worst defenses in the league.

This offense is mediocre to below average still.

When you're talking about 25 years ago, "antiquated thinking" is a spot on description. Well done, even if obviously inadvertent.

Our "passing offense" wasn't "built" to rank 28th in the league. In no way was that part of some "plan".

And be sure and let me know when this team "beats the Saints and the Rams".

Don't get defensive! There are a few in here that would rather be losing or continue to criticize Dak and Garrett. I'm guilty of criticizing Garrett. All I'm saying is there are a lot of fans that watch the games and don't get wrapped up in it day to day. Those people aren't on the Zone, but they'll be watching on Thursday.
