Offense better than you think

The change in scheme as well as the lineup change at left guard have certainly looked like improvement these past few weeks. And thank goodness for that because the passing game is still grossly sub-standard.

Washington will provide a real test for improvement on Thursday. They shut down Zeke and the running game completely the last time the two teams met. That's needs to be much improved if the Cowboys are to win this game.

Two away wins over two weeks has proven something already. The Dallas passing game has moved from 24th to 15th? This past week...

Have you seen a kid shoot up 4-6 inches and about 30 pounds in a single year? Maybe allowing the 'facts' to speak means not categorizing to miss them...

How about going by the facts and the truth and not simply what we as fans hope might eventually happen?

It's calling it like I see it and for what it is. @BrAinPaiNt posted the actual numbers. The fact is that this offense continues to be near the bottom of the league. It's not "better than we think". Nobody's putting perfume on this pig.

I'm thrilled that they've managed to win these last two games, but that doesn't mean I need to blind myself to the team's ongoing issues, or have someone else try to do it for me. The passing game is still very much broken and a liability. And if and when the team needs to have it, they don't get it.

I didn't realize that beating two teams by a combined 10 points on a last drive touchdown and field goal were considered destroying teams. duly noted.

It is this kind of thinking that allows us to be a perennial .500 team. I am glad we won but lets tap the break a little bit. We squeaked out last second wins against two teams with a combined 8-12 record. (And for the record I was not saying anything about whether or not we could/would/should beat the Eagles or Falcons - before you accuse me of such).
The falcons have an awful defense and we barely wpn.

Not 1 completion over 10 yards? Thats bad in todays NFL. I'm sorry.

Not when that is how your offense is literally designed and you come out with a W.

This is not directed to you...but I don’t think fans in general understand offensive philosophy.

People believe the main objective of an offense is to score a touchdown as quick as possible. That’s not the objective for this offense...especially against a high powered offense. You need to force an opposing offense to play your game.

If you go out and put together a 7 minute drive that even ends in a field goal(I don’t condone this). That will psychologically mess with the playcalling of a high powered offense. The last thing an opposing offense will want to do is score fast and throw their tired defense on the field again.

This is just one example...this team is not going to score points like that by design. In their perfect game, they won’t even have nowhere near as many possessions as the teams last night to even sniff those scores.

I think some will be brought back to reality when we play the Saints. The object should be to win the SB. The offense is probably good enough to win a mediocre division if that is our only goal.

How about living in reality vs a perpetual spinning wheel of "we'll get 'em next time!"?

yadda...yadda...yadda So?

You still NOT admitting that the COWBOYS won the past two games? That not current enough for your tastes?

Come on.....yadda, yadda, yadda (full of crap)

We're ranked 28th in passing yards per game.

At the bottom of the league. And the teams we're down there with actual have excuses, rookie and injured quarterbacks. We have none.

It's great that we've managed to win these past two games, it really is. But it doesn't erase the very real problems and liabilities that still exist with this team.

Fandom is great and all, but I'll never understand why some people feel the need to let it override their sanity and their ability to see the truth.

How many times did I say it was great that they won?

Take your meds. It's obvious you haven't yet.

Yeah, a team would be destroyed mentally if their defense was on the field for 7 minutes, gives up three points and their offense scores a TD in 5-7 plays.

I think we've seen this story before against the Packers in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
We are what, 1-3 versus them including the playoffs?
T.O.P. offense versus a high octane big play offense.
Of course now our defense is better than the 2014/16 teams, but still talking about an elite QB on the other side.

Not sure Payton or his DC is freaking out about our TOP styled offense while his offense can score at will.
They go up 11-14 points and we'll get out of our run first shell and who knows how well the passing offense will be. Stats say it won't be a good day if we get into a passing shootout.

The first to 35 almost always wins the game...

Either you’re ignoring my point completely or you don’t understand.

Sometimes it’s hard to communicate through writing online.

If we play our perfect game offensively, teams won’t score 35 on us.

It’s that simple.

That doesn’t mean that we will win, it just means we will limit the possessions and not allow as many chunk plays.

Lol. Such pathetic comments on several threads. For the past 2 weeks, y'all were saying Garrett, Dak and this team could not beat such high powered teams like the iggles and falcons. Now that the Cowboys destroyed them, here comes more "let's see what they do in 10 days against the Saints?"

Always excuses, instead of accepting, crediting, jumping on board and supporting.

It's because I feel that we have the best defense we have had since the 90's and it's frustrating watching play calling that is often predictable and a quarterback generally struggle painfully with any throws where the receiver isn't already wide open. This would not be enough to get the W in the play offs.

If we had a proper quarterback who could actually execute difficult throws to receivers who are not already wide open then I genuinely believe we have the overall quality to be a Superbowl contender.

I make no reference to #9 at all and am looking forwards - it's just frustrating watching Prescott bumbling around and missing throws as I think the offense would be explosive with a proper QB. To his credit, we only spent a fourth round pick on him and he has proved to be excellent value.

Pull your head out and learn real listening skills...you listen only with a bias. Hell yes, there are still problems...that's why the team is still challenged. But worthy of ridicule and biased smack talk? Not on your ***...you can claim truth all one wants!!

It’s pretty simple if Zeke and the defense do not produce this team will more than likely lose a game.

This team will ride the backs of those two components and both will determine the outcome of this season. Garrett and Dak are benefiting from Zeke and the defense.

The bias is yours alone. You want to see and hear what you want to, and cherry pick stats and numbers that suit you. Life doesn't work that way.

I gave you the truth. And the actual numbers. If you want to cover your eyes, you go ahead and do that, somewhere else.

And once again, you've escalated things. Don't try to now place blame on me for it.
