Cooper Rush should have played the 4th quarter

Big Ben throws ints almost each game, but always gets a pass because he wins in crunchtime, which includes a clutch-time Super Bowl-winning throw. Dak doesn't get that luxury just yet....key word...YET.

Fixed that for you. When Dak does what Ben did, he'll get that luxury.
You don't get that luxury until you win a Super Bowl.
Fair? Don't know.
Reality? Yes.

Do you honestly not get the point?

It should have been a blowout, and Dak should have had a cap on as Rush ran out the clock.
Ohh! That's what you meant by Rush should have been in. I misinterpreted your statement. In that case, I agree.

For three quarters, my section at the stadium was just shaking our heads in disgust and frustration.

Amari Cooper was wide open the entire football game. I mean WIDE OPEN all damn game long. He could have had 500 yards receiving by the end of the 3rd quarter. Even he was visibly frustrated at the lack of throws his way. The Philadelphia secondary is just putrid. They couldn't cover me.

Cooper Rush should have played the 4th quarter because this game should have been 35-3 by then. Dallas had all the possession, and the defense had the Philly offense tied in knots. Wentz looked bad, they couldn't run, first downs were incredibly hard to come by, and their defensive backfield was a makeshift band of gypsies.

It took a 62-yard field goal after a horribly mismanaged late drive in the half to be up a lousy 6-0. You have to try really, really hard not to be up three touchdowns in that game by halftime.

Dak throws a bad interception, followed by a an even worse interception, followed by a brainless fumble, followed by missed opportunity after missed opportunity....and suddenly, this thing is 9-9 only by the luck of a missed extra point.

"How is this possible?" we all stared at each other. "We should be in our cars headed home already."

Then, Dak drops a beautifully thrown ball to Cooper in the end zone, and it's back on track for the moment. However, he misses Gallup on two easy touchdowns running past the Eagles' jokesters for corners. He misses on a throw to Cooper, who fortunately adjusted on the ball for a 75-yard score as whoever "Bausby" is runs out of bounds. LOL, good corner you've got there, Philly!

Finally, after a nice drive in overtime, ping, pong, the game is over. Lucky touchdown, but the proper end to a nutty game. The Cowboys now have the awful NFC East pretty much on lockdown.

This game summed up Dak perfectly. Horrific interceptions, missed opportunities, bad fumbles, a few tremendous catches by receivers, and a few really well-thrown balls against a practice-squad combination of off-the-street defensive backs in a wild and woolly game. That's who we is.

My lone thought after that crazy game.....this is a Super Bowl roster that will have to drag this guy as far as they can take him.

Can a bus driver take a Ferrari to a Super Bowl this season? We'll see.

Not really. There was no one over the top..if he puts it in the right place Douglas has no chance. He floated it after throwing awkwardly...when he could have set his feet and put it on the spot.

Look at the play again. Cooper had his hands ready for the ball to drop right in them - in his chest. It wasn't even the DB that covering Cooper that made the play - the throw was perfect to beat that guy. It was a DB that dropped off his man and came over to help that made the play. Sure we could look at it with the benefit of hindsight and know it might have worked if Dak got just a hair more arc on the pass and hit Cooper another yard or two deeper, but all that tells us is Dak didn't make the exact throw he would like to have if he had the benefit of hindsight. Even then, with a little more air under the ball that may have only given the DB a little more time to get there. The reality is sometimes DB's make good plays, and that's what happened in this case.

why don't the guys and gals on here mention the clutch throws/reads Dak makes each game...like last night on a 4th and 9...he hit Cooper for a 12 yarder?...No one mentions that. Derek Carr would have pissed himself and had "shrinkage" issues, missing Cooper on that play. Sick and tired of all the love a guy like Carr gets...even to this day , when Dak is clearly way better!!! Carr had Cooper and the numbers just weren't there. Gruden is finding this out the hard way. Dak deserves love for improving vastly...The kid is just 24-25...jeesh guys. Kid is a leader of massive proportions and we are witnessing it over the last 5 weeks. He is a gym rat.

I think some have their own agenda. I have no issue with people pointing out mistakes Dak made but seem to over look he hit 77.8% of his passes and this was not all dink and dunk. He threw a couple of picks which he has not done lately up until this game but Dak also threw 3 TD passes. I heard who he was unable to throw for over 200 yards yet has done so in the last 6 games and put up 455 yesterday. Was this a perfect game? No, not at all but damn the kid did a lot of good things in this game and yet some are so stubborn they refuse to even acknowledge it.

You guys have lost every football related brain cell in your medulla oblongata.

Did Dak's play with turnovers almost cost the game? Yes! Did Dak Prescott overcome those mistakes and win the game? Yes.

I guarantee Cooper Rush or Mike White would have failed trying to beat a Champion that did not want to die. Cooper Rush did so well in the preseason that the Cowboys decided to keep Mike White. You think this coaching staff can coach Cooper Rush and Mike White to a NFC East Division Championship?

If you want to use a premium pick at QB (2nd or 3rd rounder) or go out and sign a free agent to compete with Dak next year, I am all for competition something all Cowboys QBs except Romo had after winning the starting job (see Meredith and Morton, Morton and Staubach, Staubach and White/Longley, White and Hogeboom, and Aikman and Walsh). It makes the QB and the team better as long as it is not controversy.

But lets discuss the stupid play calling when the Cowboys get the ball inside the 20 and 10 yard line. Lets discuss the stupid play calling we get from the OC and HC when the Cowboys are in field goal range. If you are afraid of Dak turning the ball over, why not feed Zeke run and pass? Why give him the ball 0 or 1 time and then take him off the field? Why were we throwing the ball on 3rd and 1 in field goal position allowing a sack in a tied ball game?

Dak turnovers this season are alarming. But, his ability to overcome them, stupid coaching, and win now that he has a no.1 WR and still without a no.1 TE is more impressive.

You do not replace a QB that is on a 4-5 game winning streak in the 4th quarter of a game. Ask Jimmy Johnson when he had Steve Beurlien on a winning streak with Troy Aikman on the bench. Momentum! The only thing you learn from winning is how to win more. The only thing you learn from losing is how to lose more.

No, no, no. You don't throw a line drive pass across a zone defense with a receiver running across the field to the corner. You put some air under that ball and throw it to the back corner.

Now, to be fair, you do see that happen in the NFL to good quarterbacks. I didn't fault him too much for that one, but that's not the way to throw that route.

Wow, when somebody says "what a stupid thread" when they only read the title, it is ok to respond in kind with the same level of thought and consideration.

How do you know he didn’t read your post and thought it was stupid? So anyone who disagrees with you is stupid? Pretty egotistical.

Speaking of not using your medulla obloganta.....

Rush should have been in the game because it should have been long decided by then. Dallas left almost 30 points on the field in the first three quarters. That was the point.

I said it in another thread but it applies to this one as well.

He is so frustrating with his Bi-Polar playing.

Sometimes he makes great plays at the ends of games to almost will us to a win but usually that is only after he has made terrible plays prior to that which put us in a situation where we could easily lose.

I think this and the saints game we lost the turn over ration and still managed to win. That does not happen too often. It is not unheard of but still not the way you want to do it.

One minute you are screaming at him to get rid of the bleeping ball before he takes a sack fumble.

The next minute you are cheering after he makes a great move or run to gain a first down or avoid a sack. Or he makes a great throw.

I admit at one point I was so aggravated that I too said to myself, why not give the backup a chance...only for Dak to pull the 4th quarter and OT heroics.

Its hard to hate a player like him, it's also hard to love a player like him. Makes so many mistakes, bad throws, fumbles, turnovers to get you so angry only to go down and win the game when it gets to the nitty gritty.

Yet you still have fans that LOVE him and HATE him.

That type of thing can be so crazy and it is no wonder why there is such a division on Dak among the fans.

Like a bus driver.

If he can just be the best damn bus driver in the football business, we win every game.
He's basically Sandra Bullock from "Speed". She took over when the bus driver was injured (ok, shot), and managed to keep the bus above 50 mph. Along the way she sideswiped cars, crashed through barriers, and even had the bus on 2 wheels about to tip over. But, when the passengers needed her to be great she took that bus and jumped it across an unfinished bridge and saved them all! Ok, the bus blew up at the end, but maybe we shouldn't talk about that.
