Right guard, Right tackle, TE1, TE2... All on the right.. and you run a dive left on 4th & 1...So cute.. Shoot me now...

Bootleg?
RPO left or right?
Read option left?
RB at least takes one step right to sell it then left?
Anything?
Bueller????? Bueller????

Linehan.

Simple enough explanation.

It was dumb to you because you don't know any better, they ran misdirection with the Oline, trying to get flow going to strongside and running back weak. The problem was Williams not getting the right guy, he was suppose to get Hunt, and Williams was suppose to get his man, you see Collins pushing Williams that way.
Take care of Hunt and Zeke scores.

Dre is correct. Williams blocked the wrong man. Everyone is blaming Looney but he wasn’t at fault. Williams gets the right guy it’s an easy cut back for the 1st down.

I don't know what y'all saw but I saw a busted play/missed block/wiff by Looney. Hunt blew that play up right off of Looneys non-block. What? Does his assignment say, totally forget the dude playing over your left shoulder especially when the run is going left??!!? Give him a free shot into the backfield. If so, it's a dumb *** scheme. That was on Looney

Wrong. The blocking was designed to block one slot to the left of the OL, providing an easy cut back to the right for Zeke. Williams blocked the wrong guy.

Connor Williams screwed up. He got blown up at the point of attack. Zone blocking to the weak side, he didn’t reach his man. Granted, it was a tough play and shoulda been run towards the strong side. The Cowboys were hoping the Defense would bite towards the overload. Colts didn’t and played it perfectly. Sometimes it just happens that way.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess the problem is with the outcome more than with the call, and we’re just going to second guess this thing into the ground because it’s so easy.

I hate any short yardage run play that has Zeke running on the outside shoulder of the OT. It’s idiotic. The goal is to reach the first down marker or break the goal line. The fastest path from point A to point B is a straight line so of course we have slow developing blocking plays that have Zeke running parallel to the end zone.

The Garrett playbook and Linehan playcalling is just so stupid. They think they are so smart with their alignments and schemes. Yet it fools no one. Not only that, it's stupid and counterproductive.

That's why I feel bad for Dak. He has to deal with inept coaching and playcalling. Then get blamed for just about everything.

In 2016-17 when we could actually run the ball successfully inside the 10-yard line, we didn't have to resort to trickery.

Those days are gone.

Success Rate
Elliott's runs inside 10-yd line
2018 35.0% (7 of 20)
2017 65.0% (13 of 20)
2016 66.7% (16 of 24)

Even trickery doesn't work.

They should have overloaded the left. In not doing so they really didn't fool anyone. Just another case which Linehan thinks is smarter than everyone else.

Linehan was a genius when the OL was healthy, and Witten and Dez were making plays in the red zone.

Broaudus explains it, essentially the play is supposed to suck the defense into the trip TE and Zeke is supposed to sneak in through the weak side between smith and sua. And imo it’s a good play design. Just bad execution the defense knew Dallas was running 100% and Dallas thought they could run that play at this point 100% boy was Dallas wrong. In My teams defense it takes some balls to run this play at that point and had they been able to get it would have show the colts this run game done f around

Sorry I never thought Linehan was a genius. Never. Witten and Dez wasn't making the plays. It was Dak with an RPO play to Zeke that helped us score. Unfortunately, Linehan and Garrett probably removed that from the playbook entirely.

I can see our players execute the play...

Running Zeke through the left weak side, while all blockers are in the right while being in the goal line mind you . The goal line stand doesn't permit such treachery a yard from the end zone, much less if your vanilla playbook is so predictable .

The colts defense knew how to read our horrible vanilla playbook, this was terrible play calling and playbook .

Genius? ... no, ... garrett/linehan ?, yes ...
ineptitude and playbook embarrassment at its finest .
