Nate Newton: Dak Prescott Is Not Worthy of a Big Contract

Cousins looked good on the Commanders, coming from a fan of one of their opponents, I thought the Commanders should payed for him. Cousins is more accurate than Dak.
It only takes one team liking a guy and he’s getting paid
His agent will make up 3 more to make sure he gets paid

Dumbed down ? :lmao:

Linehan hasn't changed a darn thing since garrett drew the playbook back in 2008 .

Yeah, but the results have sure changed, #31 ranked in red zone offense. Yeah, I don’t ever remember that being attributed to us Before the Messiah arrived

What the problem is Dak may think he's worth more than he is and if he wants to dig in and play hardball then it may be time to move on.

If Dak wants to break the bank then lets get a Super Bowl victory out of him.

You have no idea what Dak thinks. What the hell? Zeke may think he worth more than he is...So does Martin, so does Cole, so does Cooper, so does literally every player known to man - ever...that is a terrible assertion.

And listen very closely, I NEVER said to pay Dak MORE than what he is worth. ONLY to pay him WHAT he is worth (and not a cent less). And that if there was anybody in the league that DESERVES to get paid what they are worth...it is Rayne 'Dak' Prescott.

What team is going to like a guy who seems to have bad accuracy and pocket awareness. In fact, that he is a quarterback on the Dallas Cowboys with those kind of issue will actually hurt him, since it magnifies them. Who remembers the hard time Aikman had after his time here and some negative views that he may be done. Or what about a more recent example of Dez. Being the the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys only magnifies his flaws on a national level.

I suspect there is more of a market than you think
And I’m not a Dak lover
It’s just the lack of options teams have that keeps avg QB’s as starters and gets them paid huge money

No there won’t be. No one is giving him Cousins-like money. And Cousins is nowhere near elite himself.

best thing cowboys have going for themselves in the negotiations game is Stephen is running that part of the show now. he won't overspend for dak. he knows he doesn't really have to. dak's ours next year and then can be tagged. he just might like to get a big signing bonus sooner rather than later and do a more amenable deal for us during the offseason. I would always prefer the money now as opposed to later. the parsimoniousStephen will get it done.

I just hope Dak is more realistic about his worth than those here who seem to think he's a great QB.

Then let another team pay him 20+ million a year. But I don't see that happening. Good starting QBs are paid a lot because of the value to their team. There are at minimum a dozen players on the Cowboys I'd rather not lose over Dak. That's not a player you pay 20+Mil to.

Not unless the cap is 250 million.
