My daughter bought me a Lee jersey. The first time I wore it, they lost, so it stays in the drawer :(. Now I just:

- Wear a Cowboy's cap
- Put my Cowboys helmet in the helmet spot
- Have my Gatorade towel in hand
- TRY TO MAKE SURE MY GF IS HERE. We've won 10 this year when her *** was where it was supposed to be and lost all 6 when she elsewhere. She tried to 'prove' that she wasn't lucky for the Indy game. We know how that turned out.
- Make sure my dogs are on the couch with me (obv)
- I can't post my other rituals. I'd seem like a fanatic...haha.

Other than that, nothing special.

Please tell me she understands the program today.

Call her right now!!! This is no time to take chances.

@CowboysWillRise is planning a fight with his wife for crying out loud!!

Get your game face on and make damn sure she shows. She may be the key.

It’s these types of things that add up and next thing you know they call a fan for unsportsmanlike conduct and we lose a 50 yard gain!!

Haha....she's doing her weekly 10 mile run right now and will be back in a couple of hours. After that, she knows that leg irons await if she tries to leave (plus I promised that I'd buy her a piece of her favorite cheescake, give her a massage, and not scream above 90 decibels during the game. The last is the toughest, but we all make sacrifices).

My gameday ritual (since this past Xmas) is to make sure I sip some hot steamy java from my new favorite supper. I'm doing that right now.

I like threads like this... gives insight to the many great fans on this site, beyond a discussion of the Cowboys.

We start game day with an early morning, 5 mile hike, followed by a healthy breakfast, a perusal of the CowboyZone, a telephone call to the grand-kids (which at their young age, sounds like, "grandfather, grandfather, grandfather, ...." ad naseum - kind of a one way conversation), any final household chores (I am a bit OCD, so everything has to be in order before I start watching the game), prep for lunch/dinner and then the game.

A lot different and more enjoyable ritual now that I am retired vs when I was working fulltime.

I drive down from Oklahoma, and pretty much always "tailgate" first class at Pappadeaux near the stadium. I have a couple of beers, and almost always have the same meal (including a lobster tail). I study up on the game, listen to 105.3 the fan and read up on the latest Cowboys news on this website.

Then I slip on over and pick up my lot 10 parking pass from Lance at ticketsource, get to the game early and have a little bit of fun at the Miller Lite Corral, saying hi to any friends I see there.

I get in early enough to see the "walkout" by our players and the Cheerleaders do their thing.
Yours is better than mine.....

Spending the morning with the wife and kids, and maybe the afternoon...after that, it's off to the man cave to not be bothered under any circumstances, unless you're coming to watch the game and cheer on the Cowboys.

Sounds like a great day buddy. I like your style.

When I was coaching, my games were mostly at night. It made for a long day. After meeting with my staff and players in the morning, my routine was to have a quick lunch with my parents and then come home and sit in my sauna for about 30 minutes after a couple of miles on the treadmill to clear my head. Made the day go by quicker. Now that I'm retired, I find myself doing the same thing during night games. Gonna have brunch with my dad, hit the gym, get a good sweat in the sauna and then start the fire for my meal.
Any of you guys have gameday rituals or routines?

I highly recommend the gym on game day. I always feel better after I get my blood pumping.

Haven't made up my mind yet on dinner. I was planning to bbq but am considering French dips as well.

I usually sit on the commode for atleast an hour when I wake up on game day. But I do that everyday so I’m not sure that counts as a game day ritual. It seems as though I sit a little longer on game days so I’ll count it.

Other than that it’s the playoffs so I’m going to try and mix it up to give us a little extra.

If we win and it works I’ll let you know what I came up with.

Brewing up a batch of beer. Usually do it on Sundays but going to move it up a day to commemorate the occasion.

Today's batch:

Wildcard Session IPA
Target IBU: ~40-45
Target ABV: ~4.5%

Usually, I will puff some Bob Marley before game, but I have to fast for a Ayahuasca ceremony next week. So, I guess I'll go for a run (0.5 mile) since you guys recommend that.

I like to take my dog Freckles for a walk around the stadium just to see all the different tailgate setups. We usually go around twice then head home. I come home get ready and always head up to the stadium for early entry to watch player warmups. I normally have a Cowboys cheese steak that I flood with red and green salsa from the taco and burrito stand that’s on the West side of the stadium by the concessions. I changed it up for the Philly game and had the super 16 burger so I’m stuck with that for now lol. For anyone that has ever thought about getting one make sure to ask them to slightly toast the bun on the grill. It really makes a big difference.
