Almost every QB coach was a lousy NFL quarterback or never made it to the NFL.
I’m not sure if lousy is the right description but certainly most weren’t stars and many didn’t ever start.

But that’s generally the rule most great coaches who weren’t great players. More of the lunch pale hard working over achieving type of guy who’s willing to put in100 hours a week.

The elite athletes it all came easy to them on the most part, not having to put in all the extra time after practice and in the film room just to make the team and why they usually don’t make great coaches.

There’s some exceptions but not the norm.

He gets a lot of grief here because he was a lousy NFL QB. Pretty good in college, so maybe his mind understands a lot more than his body could deliver. I think Dak showed steady improvement this season.
I posted this near the beginning & I didn't expect this to last quite as long as it has. Now I feel the need to clarify my remarks. I don't know if Kellen or Linehan is responsible for Dak's progress, but Mr. Moore may be a decent QB couch.

Nobody with only 1 season of experience coaching any position is ready to become the OC.

This would be worse than when Garrett became HC.................1 year spent as a position coach qualifies him to become the offensive coordinator of the most visible NFL franchise ?
