Is there a possibility of Zeke holding out?

If you are going to be a run first football team you need more than one great back. Need two good backs. If Zeke goes down your entire scheme falls apart. Always nice to have another good back on the squad as to push Zeke and let him know that another young back will take his spot if his demands become too great. Also nice to groom a guy in case the demands are too ridiculous.

Thank Steelers and James Conner.
agree IF the 3rd rounder is great back..cant just grab anyone but we could use some insurance for zeke as backup for snaps but in case of holdout..Zeke has zero leverage this season with 2 yrs left but other backs like Gurley got reworked early so Id extend zeke at 15-17 per after this season. we need the money foe many other up first,,

I would NEVER pay a back that kind of money. I would rather have 2 very good backs and pay them less then one great back. We see quite clearly that without a great Oline, Zeke cant always pick up those dirty yards when needed.

we wont be the first thats Gurley money, the rams are in the SB, didnt hurt them did it? it will have less guaranteed money in it then you think..when you pick back like Zeke, SB, Gurley, and Founrette high and they lay at a high level, they will get paid..Bell will well he thinks he will..its the years and guaranteed money id worry about, I think Gurleys is guaranteed estimated about 12 per..its the nature of the business..you throw away a 4th overall pick that woud have most likely won the Rushing title three straight years if he has another great season without health issues and holds out, you just let him walk? one you take back that high and they excel, you dont have many choices, its too late to go back..

LMAO Gurley got 10! 10yards in the NFCCG, it happens players cant always be at their best, the guys on the other side are good as well..i get it but Zeke has only got better, he now became threat in the passing game so hes on Bell and Gurleys level and will get that kind of money..we have proven product how many backs will we go through to finally get one in his league ? dont tell me anyone can run behind this line Rods not doing well as backup and we saw in years past that we can get decent production like Dmac but also bad play..zekes special but how much does he want? we shall see..

why wouldn't he hold out if he's not offered what he thinks he's worth?

IN case you didn't notice, Gurley didn't play the last 3 games of the regular season and has at most, split carries with CJ Anderson. IF anything, the Rams situation and Gurley are a perfect example of why you DONT give a RB 20 million. Anderson was the one running all over us in the playoff game.

I would also NEVER have spend a 4th pick on a back. Never.

Yah, if Zeke holds out and wont budge for 20 million, then I trade him or let him walk.

RB's getting big money is a brand new thing. We can only pray that Gurley money isn't the new norm.

20 million a year was stupid for Gurley. I would never pay a back like that. I cant deny that Jerry probably will. Sadly.

I guess its kinda like you not wanting to pay Dak 30 million a year. I tell you what, he we pay Dak 30, Zeke 20 and Cooper 16 that is going to be ridiculous.

unless he gets a new contract. I say let him rot. Perfect excuse to draft a young stud with our 3rd round pick and let him start the season.

It is possible. Lightening could also strike you dead. It's all about the odds.

No. It's not a new thing. It's like an old thing coming back around in style.

Good thing you aren't running the team then. We need Zeke.

So Gurley ran for 10 yards and you think that bolsters your case that he deserves 20 million as year?

That's why they haven't had a losing season in 15 years.

But they did suck this year, and the Cowboys sucked a half game less.
So what’s your argument? That they sucked half a game less than the Cowboys? They still sucked in a year they underachieved. Cowboys overachieved......
