IF WE LET DAK test the market...we lose. He wont come back. He will sign with the Skins or Jags...a team like that. HE IS GETTING HIS MONEY,PERIOD. Best thing to do is to pay the man.Good QB's are just too hard to find.

I wonder if Dak has another game like Atlanta 2017 and is “traumatized” for a ~10 games afterwards do the Cowboys get some of their money back or was that a legit excuse for a top paid QB?

That’s the best approach unless we start all over with a rookie.

Hit the nail on the head there! I’m currently mostly neutral on Dak now but it will be funny to see how many of the current bashers will be glorifying him 15 years down the road like they do with Romo now after bashing him for so many years.
I started the year wanting Dak to play out but I thought he made steps this year to earn a contract
After adding cooper I think he got better. Having a real one helped. Another year with cooper and a second year Gallup should really help this team. Big thing is get red zone fixed which might mean calling 4 more in the redzone

what about that "gullible" owner in Minny? You want some kirk Cousins at 100-120 mil? lol....Jerry starting to look better I imagine. lol ..so is Dak.
The "gullible" comment is not about signing the player.

It is the fact he has already conceded not only that he will get re-signed, but that it will be by his own words "extraordinary". That idiotic comment destroys any possible leverage if for some reason Prescott's play turns south.

He basically announced to the world that they are marrying him with an outrageous contract.

And this will be the slow death of the cowboys if we pay Dak what he thinks he's worth. You're an above average quarterback at best that relies heavily on the key players around you. Teams loaded the box to stop Zeke and you put up average numbers(in todays game) while the defense carried the offence for nearly 2/3rds the season.

Do you show signs of brilliance? From time to time but not enough to warrant elite quarterback pay

Wake up
So what’s your solution?

Lol the prescott hate here is ridiculous. People upset that he wont play for pennies.
People on this board think the Cowboys should out right cut Dak. Some are suggesting he take less then Blake Bortles. SMH....

You guys act as if Dallas doesn't have any leverage. They could always trade him to tampa or the raiders and see how he likes his big contract there.

No I think we should let Dak walk. Let him walk, the Dallas Cowboys as an organization is run by a gang of failures.

It's clear from the article that he's gunning for the big money. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised, but I am.

From the article:

Prescott doesn’t see Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s team-friendly deal, for which he made just $15 million last season, as a blueprint for his own.

Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,” Prescott said of Brady’s supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, who earned $10 million in 2018 and $17.5 million in 2017, per reports. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have."

So in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.”

I think the team knows how to pay what’s deserved,” Prescott told USA TODAY Sports before the Super Bowl, “and pay those other people at the same time what’s deserved without being frugal.

If the Cowboys refused his demands, would anyone else pay Dak $20 million/year? I wonder.

lmao...Let him test the market? THEN I guarantee ya we will lose him fast. You don't disrespect a QB like that. Then we would have no one at the helm...no shot to win. PASS.

Who is gonna pay the top dollar for a Case Keenum protege, if they do so be it. Money goes to ZEKE, TANK and Cooper first. DAK is replaceable....

DAK walks...go get Joe Flacco or CJ Bethard..... Dallas is loaded with Weapons and a good Oline...

A single QB getting overpaid does not mean I believe we should overpay ours. Now, do I think Prescott will get overpaid? Yeah, because of our stupid owner.

As for you bringing up Wilson, Russell Wilson is nearing his contract extension which will most likely be bringing him elite QB dollars. We're talking nearly $35 million.

When Wilson got his contract in 2015, he had a Super Bowl ring and another appearance, and coming off an amazing 2015 stretch Dak has never come remotely close to playing at. I mean, Wilson was on fire - 26 TDs to 2 INTs in the last 9 games of the season.

God I love it. Do wanna know what "brilliant" Seahawks fans wanted to pay Wilson in 2014-2015? 8 million a year or let him walk.

The same whining and moaning that you are doing now...Seahawks fans were doing in 2015...Same with Cam Newton...Panthers fans literally wanted to let Newton walk and draft a new QB in 2015 prior to winning a MVP.

I anticipate, among others, Texans fans will whine and moan when it comes time for Watson to get paid.

Dallas has Zeke, TANK and Copper to pay....that should be the priority.... Most QB's would love to play in Dallas.... great OL, RB, WR no brainer

and Paying Wilson big money ended the legion of Boom..one of the best defense they ever had. Why, no money to pay other players

The QB market is what it is not because of Dak Prescott or anything he did. You can thank the Minnesota Vikings and that ridiculous contract they gave to Kirk Cousins.

Exactly what the Jones's have stated, no matter if it takes $30M.
