Worst cities in America

No one mentioned the place where I was born and raised: Pittsburgh. I personally didn't like it when I was young but, adding in weather to the rating, and it is a pretty depressing city to live in. And it was really, really depressing in the 1970s. It has become a lot nicer place to live, I have to admit.

As far as decent-sized cities go, I'd say Scranton, PA was one of the worst cities I have travelled to. Nothing glaringly wrong with the city. They have a handful of nice restaurants. But, that place is downright depressing. I would be looking to move asap.

While I wouldn't want to live in Philly or even visit it again, they're mostly forgiven simply for birthing the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.

They're ridiculously delicious too. Fortunately, they exist everywhere in Pennsylvania. Including at home.

San Francisco (used to love it)

Best cities I love to go to outside of Texas:
San Diego
New York (though I could never live there)
Phoenix
Nashville
Washington DC (history nut)
Seattle (but declining rapidly)
Denver (starting to decline)

Exactly, which is why I want to leave but unfortunately I’m stuck for another 17 years or so. It’s nothing but concrete and sterile dung. No character, no proper downtown, cookie cutter neighborhoods, horrible traffic, terrible public transportation, museums suck, little “culture”..cheap living and some decent restaurants are about all it’s got going for it.

Nursing? Top notch nursing school.

Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Cabrini, Drexel to name a few. Very upscale/prestige to say the least. The area is better known as The Main Line. Grace Kelly lived there. Her home was made historic. Andy Reid had a beautiful home there while coaching for the Eagles.

There are certainly nice areas in the Philly burbs, but when there for work, I'm in the city most of the time. Good gosh almighty. Plus, the worst airport employees on planet earth outside of maybe the Syrian International Airport. Just rude as hell.

I mean I suppose it’s to be expected but there are far worse cities than Philly overall. Of course I am biased since I live in the Philly suburbs.

LOL. Thats because they knew you were a Cowboys fan. Philly airport is very hectic and easy to get lost in as well as Atlanta IMO. Jacksonville Florida Airport is ideal. It's not big and impossible to get lost in. Worse airport I've ever traveled in was Frankfurt Germany. That place is literally insane.

Brilliant, and I concur fully.

Have been in a few in the world. Detroit by far! Followed by US Niagara Falls which is probably not a city. And i'm not talking sports cities. Both riddled by poverty, inner city crime, environmental disasters, big industry filth and pull outs, corrupt politicians. The people were nice enough but they're stuck in a cesspool and can't get out.

I'm more of a suburb guy myself, but D.C. is a great place to live if: 1) You can afford it 2) You live in the right part of town 3) You're single and enjoy going out 4) You don't want to own a car
Of course, you could live in a place like Arlington, VA or Bethesda, MD and the same would be true. Personally, I do my best to never drive into DC. The entire city is set up to rape motorists. Speed cameras are everywhere, and you will eventually get a $100 ticket in the mail if you drive in DC. There are also red light cameras, and super confusing parking restrictions. I prefer to drive to Pentagon City mall in Arlington and take the Metro in to the city. The DC Metro system is amazing, and I highly recommend using it if you visit the area.
