You think I have access to their actual contracts..... get a life chachi

Everyone knew he had a second year on his deal..... no one knew it was specifically an option that had to be picked up.... that wasn't reported anywhere but the difference is negligible with no guaranteed money left

But I am glad to know you are the type to get your rocks off trying to catch someone smarter than you in a tiny mistake
Lol... "chachi".
You've called me that before.
You haven't lived until @Nightman calls you chachi.

A dead person taught you how to sign?... lol.

Maybe both mean the same for the deaf but, for the rest of us, when the thumb is out,
it means "I love you". The horns is rock-n-roll and all things that scare out of touch parents.

Edit: I just looked up "deaf sign for love" and it is with the thumb out. No mention of the other.
I think the deaf person was pulling your leg.

Yes I meant deaf. And don’t see why a family member would play games. Nevertheless if we are getting technical what you described is also used for devils horns.

The more he gets the less players we can keep

it is only business

So you'd rather pay less for a bunch of mediocre players than more for one of your best players?

You have to have talent to win even if you get good coaching. If you want to replace Lawrence with a player just as talented, I'm all for that, but you're going to have to pay for that too. The only way not to pay is to keep drafting replacements, and that keeps you from fixing other positions that need a talent infusion too.

I encourage you to research it. Maybe your family member is mistaken. Maybe deaf people are tired
of correcting signers in conversation.

I know where the supposed devil horns originated from in the context that 99% of people that have made that gesture.
The short answer is Heavy Metal music. Then factor in all those who proudly throw up the horns for there beloved Longhorns
and the number of satanic nut jobs and, ironically those freaked out by those nut jobs are the only people believing
in this nonsense. If people want to get their panties in a bunch over maybe 2 dozen people across the country, living
in granny's basement, by all means, be triggered. I do hope you're not the church lady... lol.

I pulled this from Wikipedia. It describes the ILY sign and mentions the "devil's horns" as unrelated.
Obtained from American Sign Language, seems legit:

The ILY is a sign from American Sign Language which, as a gesture, has moved into the mainstream. Seen primarily in the United States and other Americanized countries, the sign originated among deaf schoolchildren using American Sign Language to create a sign from a combination of the signs for the letters I, L, and Y (I Love You).[1]

The sign is an informal expression of any of several positive feelings, ranging from general esteem to love, for the recipient of the sign. A similar-looking but unrelated variation (thumb toward the palm rather than thumb extended) appears in heavy metal music culture as a "devil's horns" hand-sign and in college football as a sign of support for various teams including the University of Texas.

He got 17 million last year, about what he deserved for his play... has no reason to whine about money... he's got plenty of it compared to the average guy... sad that money has become such a big part of football talk...
Money is the main topic of every multi billion dollar business lol

His sacks decreased by 30%..... so should his salary???

5 sacks last 14 games. Faded in the back half of the last two seasons. Needs surgery again this offseason.

Whoever signs him will get poor value out of a ton of money.

Always wondered why fans are offended by players wanting to get paid
He played out his contract and is now a free agent. I don’t get why some act like it’s wrong of him to want to get paid.

My prediction is that he will get a fat contract, then production will fall off and miss time to injuries.

hes losing points from me NOT having surgery, he should have done this a week or two after the season ended.... its leverage that will cost him time in OTAs and TC etc and that doesnt sit well with the im waiting until after im PAID.. wherever and how much he plays for doesnt change the fact that he needs surgery and all the extra rehab time hes losing will cost everyone..

I think he doesnt want the real damage to come out as it will effect his coin..so hes waiting, then what after surgery we find out he misses all of TC and PS and doesnt come full strong until 1/4 into the season? maybe worse? once hes guaranteed 60mil how will he then act in his rehab?

he will need to come to the middle somewhere on what he and his agent want and what the boys are offering or he will get tagged again and if he holds out, well good riddens..

In Italian culture it is a curse.... it is "Screw you..I curse you so your wife cuckolds you" hence the horms....Cornuto

The single Italian Horn worn by males can ward off the curse or the malocchio or evil eye

Don't take my post out of context

We were talking about why fans care what these guys get paid

I said I would pay DLaw up to 5/90m which is the highest ever for 43 DE but not 6/132m with 70m gtd

Here's the issue.

Sacks are becoming rarer because quarterbacks are getting rid of the ball so much more quickly. The college game is taking over.

So how valuable are pass rushers now?

Actually that would make them even more valuable. If systems are designed to reduce sacks and you can find someone who can still generate them, the value goes up. And a player like Lawrence is a lost more than just a pass rusher.

If the ball is out consistently in less than 3 seconds, there's no time to get there.
