Meh. As I’ve said, if Cobb went to another team he would suck but if he signs with us he’s a great addition and Jerry and Stephen are geniuses
And we all knew you would hate on the signing. Like clockwork.

This is good. I know he's not perfect, but he can help the team win. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Cowboys uniform.

Man, Wikipedia is fast. It's already updated to show Cobb is a Dallas Cowboy. Remember the days of reading hopelessly out of date World Book Encyclopedias?

I remember the days of huddling around my fax machine waiting for my Cowboys Insider to arrive.

I used to have to manually count my likes back then.

Heck yeah.

Now get Quinn and a safety!

I'd like to get Quinn if we don't spend too high of a pick. We are a bit thin at draft picks as it is. I see we have a comp 4th pick. That's about as high as I'd go for Quinn at the moment. Though, personally, I'd rather we go with Zach Allen in round 2.

As for Safety, here are 3 players I'd like from Walter Football: http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/draft2019S.php. I'd like Savage or Adderly in round 3 or Tell in round 4 if Savage and Adderly are taken before we get to round 3.
http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Maryland_logo.gif Darnell Savage, S, Maryland
Height: 5-11. Weight: 199. Arm: 30.63. Hand: 9.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Projected Round (2019): 2-3.
3/16/19: At the combine, Savage really helped himself with a fast 40 time and a good showing in the field workout. Savage played really well for the Terrapins in 2018, almost helping them pull off an upset over Ohio State. Maryland's defense did a nice job in the early going of holding the Buckeyes' play-makers in check, and Savage was a key part of that. In 2018, Savage totaled 52 tackles with four interceptions and two passes broken up. He does not have great size, but he makes up for it with quickness and instincts. Savage also has the versatility to play some nickel cornerback.

As a senior, Savage totaled 52 tackles with 5.5 tackles for a loss, two passes broken up and four interceptions. He had three interceptions with 59 tackles and eight breakups as a junior. Savage broke into the starting lineup as a sophomore and totaled 59 tackles with an interceptions.

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/USC_logo.gif Marvell Tell III, S, USC
Height: 6-3. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Projected Round (2019): 3-5.
3/16/19: Tell had a disappointing 2018 season, including having problems with missed tackles and not making plays in pass coverage. Midway through the year, Tell started to play better, but he still was underwhelming overall. He totaled 56 tackles with one interception and five passes batted in 2018. Tell missed the Senior Bowl with an injury and did not run the 40 at the combine.

8/29/18: In 2017, Tell was a solid defender for the Trojans, totaling 85 tackles with two passes broken up and three interceptions. He contributed 43 tackles as a sophomore and 36 as a freshman. Over those two years, he had six breakups and an interception. Tell has a tall and long frame that helps him to match up against bigger receivers and tight ends.

I'd also be fine with us getting this player in round 3:

image: http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Delaware_logo.gif

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Delaware_logo.gif Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware
Height: 5-11. Weight: 195. Arm: 30.75. Hand: 8.88.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2019): 2-3.
3/16/19: Adderley has impressed evaluators, and some teams have him graded higher over more high-profile safeties. Adderley racked up nine interceptions over the past two seasons, and he improved his tackle production every year over the past three seasons. Scouts say that Adderley is a true free safety with good range downfield and makes plays on the ball. They say that Adderley plays hard, runs around and smacks people, but he has a cornerback build, so he should get stronger to tackle in the NFL. He had a good week of practice at the Senior Bowl. Adderley did not work out at the combine.

Sources believe that Adderley could easily go in the second round of the NFL Draft and has a shot at being a late first-round pick. Adderley could be a steady riser in the leadup to the 2019 NFL Draft. He totaled 86 tackles, four interceptions, seven passes broken up and a forced fumble in 2018.

8/29/18: According to NFL team's preseason data, Adderley checks in at 5-foot-11, 197-pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds. He has 30-inch arms, nine-inch hands, and a wingspan of 75.25 inches.

Adderley had a big 2017 season with impressive production for Delaware. The junior recorded five interceptions with 78 tackles, two forced fumbles and three passes broken up for the year. Over the previous two seasons, Adderley totaled 12 breakups with 100 tackles and two interceptions. Impressing at an all-star game will be important for him.

I think if we manage to get one of these 3 safeties and Allen, we will have a Super Bowl team.

I endorse this signing.

Mainly because it means our number three is no longer a sub-player.

Cobb could start on the outside if he had to in case of injury.

Beasley? Yes, well, good luck pretending that wouldn't be a disaster.

Seriously????

I bet I can name 10 guys you could get on day 3 of the draft that would have given you the same production....

Here we go...

1. Mecole Hardman WR/KR Georgia
2. Stanley Morgan Jr Nebraska
3. Emanuel Hall WR Missouri
4. Dredrick Snelson WR UCF
5. Jovon Durante WR Florida Atlantic
6. Greg Dortch WR/KR Wake Forest
7. Terry Mclaurin WR Ohio St.
8. Tyron Johnson WR Oklahoma St.
9. Hunter Renfrow WR Clemson
10. Terry Godwin WR/KR Georgia

Yeah but you have a special gift for the draft. It's not fair to expect that from others.

Floaty, I love you like a fellow draft brother, but you really overrate a lot of the guys on this list, wherever you cut and pasted it from.

Didn't we try that for a bit last year with Beasley? I seem to recall that being a complete and utter failure. Cobb has a history of playing well on the outside. So, it's why I've suggested that we move him about at WR with Cooper and Gallup. That would make us more unpredictable at WR, and even more formidable than we are. Teams would have to account for not only the routes that we'd use, but the different WR combinations that we would have. Oh, this will be a fun training camp to think up different schemes with our WRs. Do you know? I am quite enjoying this offseason. Not flashy pickups, but we are fixing significant holes with chaps that'll do the job quite well.

In fact, now that I think about it, Quinn with either the comp 4 or 5 (I'd prefer the 5 with him), Allen, and one of these safeties? Bloody hell, that'd be exciting! I'd also like to draft or sign another LB to really add to our LB group. That'd make us a frightfully good defence, and we'd go from one of the best LB groups to possibly the best in the league (if we're not already).

I distinctly remember Linehan talking big about how Beasley was going to be a weapon outside. It was pretty amusing.

I may be bathing in euphoria right now, but things seem to be looking up in terms of this offseason.

Where to begin...

Jones is one of the best man-to-man corners in the league. We rarely ask him to play zone. A solid zone cover CB and nothing else? Did you watch any games last year?

Jones ran a 4.36 and is one of the faster DBs in the league.

Jones didn't get the lesser WRs. It's 2019: NFL offenses move their guys around - and long gone are the days where the X is always the teams best receiver He drew Hopkins a lot more than Chido did, for example.

So when the team went zone they replaced him?

He can run 4.26on a 40 but he he cant turn and run with a Wr then that 4.36 is worthless. Go watch games at the end of the yr and you will see what im talking about.

Good thing you mentioned him vs Hopkins

As i said he cant keep up with speed. Hopkins owned him. He is a good zone CB. But he is not a CB you pay like the better CBs in the league.

Oh, I think things are going swimmingly this offseason. Brilliant signings by our FO. By George, they are doing good work this offseason, aren't they? And yes, I too recall Linehan talking about that. I think the plan was to use him like Edleman, but that failed miserably. Jolly good show that we've got a slot WR that can be a proper outside weapon if needed. I really do think that we're going to be quite happy with our moves, and we still haven't drafted yet. This is what I've been begging of our FO! Oh, and we're not eating into our cap space at all really. I daresay we've still got enough cap space right now to extend whoever we want right now and still have enough for the draft and UDFAs.

I agree there, and I suspect that will be where the decision will be whether or not to keep Jones. Actually, with how good the CBs in this draft are as well, I'd be quite keen in exploring trade options for Jones and drafting a more complete corner in place of Jones. He's had 1 good season. Why not try to sell high on him for an extra pick?
