He's slower than Witten, no he's not, he's a great route runner, so what, he's washed up, he's cheap, he's Hurn's money, 1 year, he's a great addition, he's a Beasly replacement, he sucks worse than Beasly, no he doesn't and so on and so on...
If it comes down to Hurns or Cobb making the roster it would be hilarious if Hurns wins the spot. Cobb would be this years Nolan Carroll.

I'll take a $5mm Cobb over an $11mm Beasley. Those were the options. They made the right choice.

I always liked the Bease, but I have to agree, economically they made the right choice. $5m is a lot better than 11m, plus it's only 1 yr so if it doesn't work out they can let him go.
I like Bease better, but you can't get your money's worth out of him if you don't throw him the ball. They don't use him right, so you can't justify $11m.

So to all the Beasley fans still struggling with the fact he is gone.

An honest question.

Do you honestly think things would be different and/or better under Moore to the point you would be willing to pay Beasley's price for the chance to find out?

Ultimately, no. "Beasley's price" is the key factor.

When your argument starts with "when he's healthy" then you've already lost. Beasley is quicker and more difficult to cover on 3rd downs. Cobb has gotten slower over the years and has hamstring issues, and that makes him less dangerous on 3rd down. It seems like this FA is going to be built on signing players that used to be good.

Not really sure... Different scheme, different type of QB...

Beasley was open a lot more than his receptions show. He is hard to cover... that was a heck of a catch in the end zone against the Giants.

I don't think we should actually lose anything though, if we scheme right. The genius of Moore will shine through, and get Cobb 780 yards! ;)

If I could get Beasley for the same money as Cobb I would surely take Beasley. I have never seen a WR age as quickly as Cobb! The only answer I can think of is injuries and hits have taken its toll on him.

What do you guys think?
I don't think he is better or worse. Cobb is different than Cole. They have different games and bring something different to an offense. There are things that Cobb can do that Cole cant do and vice versa. So ultimately it is about fit within our offense. How does Kellen maximize what Cobb does well will determine who was a better fit for Dak and our offense.

11 mil? Thought it was more like 7.25/year?

Either way, your point still stands. Cobb is cheaper and will give us similar production.

Cole caught 65 passes in 2018.

Will Cobb even catch half that ?!?!

I just hope he isn't another Laurent Robinson. Rodgers throwing you the ball is bound to help your stats some.
You would think.

2018 Catch rate
Target 10+ yards
Packers
Cobb 33% (7 of 21) 2 td
others 49% (86 of 177) 15 td

Cowboys
Beasley 75% (18 of 24) 2 td
others 47% (71 of 151) 13 td

Target 10-19 yards ONLY
Cobb 45% (5 of 11) 1 td
Beasley 84% (16 of 19) 1 td

Hamstring injuries are a killer for WR. We saw it happen to Miles Austin.
