Unappreciative part of his game by many fans......
We went many years looking for someone like him.... I hope they work it out.

Restructuring contracts is what has hamstrung this team over a decade. While we do need to first see the amount of guaranteed money and the payout structure of DLaw's contract year to year, restructuring these deals and kicking guaranteed money down the road is more times than not a bad idea.It will in no way handcuff this team. He's not going to get $20 million each year. The contract will be staggered amounts with restructures built into it.
For example, Zack Martin got a six-year, $84 million contract last year. His cap hit his first year was $6 million. It is set to be $14 million this year, but Dallas could restructure if it needed cap space. It could do the same the next year or the year after that. As you get closer to the end of the contract, the cost to keep him becomes greater than the cost to cut him, so you can get out of the contract and save money against the cap, even if you restructured at some point. If Martin's play is still at a high level near the end of the contract, then you can restructure completely and start over again with a lower cap hit at the beginning of the new deal, money that can be pushed down the line with a built-in restructure that opens cap space and then the eventuality that the cost to cut him is less than the cost to keep him.
we only save around 300k with RGregory suspendedAren’t we going to save some money on Gregory and Irving this year ? Surely we can justify over paying Lawrence a couple million.
If we’re smart we can save it on not over paying Dak.
He’s has us over a barrel because of our other poor decisions which risk failed. That's your opinion. I don't see it that way at all. This front office doesn't need defending, they are doing just fine. I refuse to be held hostage by a player that's decide to weaponize his injury in negotiations. Giving into that tactic is just weak.
I think the money is ludicrous, but it is funny how the great majority of people side with the Cowboys, aka the "boss". Fact is each of us would try to get as much as we could if we were in his shoes.
I assume the right to complain about every penny this organization spends when I've been a season ticket and seat licenses owner for several seasons. I don't ask you to agree with that opinion but just know that is where I am coming from.Ticket prices are not necessarily tied to player salaries. Correlation does not imply causation. Being a bit tongue and cheek here but I hope you understand.
If you don't deal for Quinn though, and don't draft the best DL available at #58, who else do you have to rush the passer?Buh-bye, bruh. We don’t need an overpaid slot machine on the field.
I would love for Tank to stay, but damn that's a big number. I still have bad memories of the Cowboys paying guys top dollar, and then watching said players underachieve. I hope he's worth it.
So I guess, based on this one game, you're not re-signing Smith, LVE, and the rest of the defense because they all got burned.
So did you coaches. Better let Richard walk too.
We went many years looking for someone like him.... I hope they work it out.
DLaw 18th in sacksHis stats say he is among the top players at his position. Why would he settle for less than a top 2-3 salary based on the current market conditions?
That is not a true at all..... biggest myth around hereRestructuring contracts is what has hamstrung this team over a decade. While we do need to first see the amount of guaranteed money and the payout structure of DLaw's contract year to year, restructuring these deals and kicking guaranteed money down the road is more times than not a bad idea.
Yes, that is a risk as a well.as to what drafting a guy hoping he pans out and if he does it is year 3 or 4 of his rookie deal and this starts over....
exactly, yet hes truly 4, 5,6 maybe.. not top 3..hes good but this is not just money issue, hes injured AGIAN, refusing to get it fixed, playing hardball..i want him here but im willing to wait on his holdout, a trade, or he will eventually play but after a FT sign , surgery, and what that makes him arrive 4 -6 games into the season..at 20 mill a year he would be the highest paid DE in the NFL
Obviously the Cowboys believe in his value or wouldn’t have Tagged him a second time.
Now we’re just haggling out a couple million delaying a deal.
Absolutely!!!!!!If you don't deal for Quinn though, and don't draft the best DL available at #58, who else do you have to rush the passer?
Tank has all the leverage here and the Jones boys are squirming, even though they will never admit it. When those boneheads Gregory and Irving went down, his price went up and he knows it.
To Lawrence, that offer is lowball. So much for the "low ball" narrative that has been periodically pushed around here.
I would love for Tank to stay, but damn that's a big number. I still have bad memories of the Cowboys paying guys top dollar, and then watching said players underachieve. I hope he's worth it.
