And you think Lawrence deserves Trey Flowers money?
FAs are overpaid by nature.... that is the cost of gaining their services

Extensions are supposed to be mutually beneficial...... not just money grabs

TRomo, TSmith, TFred, Witten, SLee all left money on the table to help the team

Funny how the timeframe for the recovery changes by the poster. Can @Doc50 or another Doctor chime in? I absolutely destroyed my shoulder last August. Broke multiple bones and severed the ligaments but at this point, I could still punch an eagles fan or play football if I wasn't an aging guy. Just don't know about the labrum repair.
I tore my rotator cuff and labrum. Had surgery and was actually worse. Had a 2nd surgery approx. 6 months later at the Hospital for Special Surgeries in NYC. The Dr. who did surgery #2 works on the Mets, Knicks and Giants players. Was much better compared to the 1st surgery. 12 years later and the shoulder still bothers me and I have limitations. I did tear it up pretty bad and couldn't even list my arm over my head. I guess it all depends on the person and the severity for the injury. I will say I am older as well and I would have willed myself to punch an Eagles fan lol.

If he signs the FTag that immediately guarantees the whole 20.5m

And if he hasn't been able to reach a deal by the drop-dead time to get the surgery, that's probably what he'll do. However, he has the opportunity to at least double or even triple that amount in guarantees.

Are you telling me that if you could possibly guarantee yourself three times your salary, you'd be willing to risk losing it? Signing the franchise tag would be a last-ditch option when he stands to benefit much more from working out a deal. He knows he's got 20.5 million, so that's his safety net. You don't use the safety net, though, before you need to.

Cousins would be on a 3rd tag which would be about 1.5 times the cost of the previous tag. That would have been roughly 34 million.

That's totally different than Lawrence but thanks for your post, however inaccurate.
You can't franchise tag a guy 3 times in a row

DAL can tag him again but it will be the 3rd Tag and cost 29.5m for one year
I have read that Dallas hasn't had a good pass rusher since D. Ware. Not sure if they are aware that after cutting D. Ware they drafted Lawrence. He was injured his 1st year, but had a big sack in the WC game against the Lions. Dealt with back issues and a suspension. Dallas did well replacing Ware and did it with a 2nd round pick.

After banking 17m last year I would have no worries about signing the tag for another 20.5m and getting the surgery back weeks ago

37m is the amount of cash he would get over 13 months on any longterm deal

He is being a diva...... he will still be an UFA at the end of the year..... the risk of career ending surgery is minimal and he could get a 20m insurance policy for 1m

You act like there will be no offers next year..... that is silly

You can very easily look it up

BS. Tank didn't ask for $20M, especially after they slapped a $20M tag (fully guaranteed) on him.

Honestly, $20.5M is as high they should go, with no more than 60% guaranteed money. I'd also make a good portion of it incentive-based due to him never making it out of a season without injuries.

I can't believe people want to trade our best defensive player for a 2.

What a monumental waste.
They can’t hand NFL negotiations. They want instant gratification. Gimme now, gimme now, gimme now. No patience. Weak people.

I hate these “I had the same XXXX” posts. No you didn’t. And how is your case somehow the standard?

I never said I had "the same". I responded to a post who asked about the recovery timetable. I also stated that every injury and person is different. I hate those who don't read the entire post and judge.

Man up and just admit your post was an all about me post because that’s exactly what it was. Like your situation is somehow the standard for all.

Man up on a message board? Listen, a guy asked about the recovery timetable. I pointed out all injuries and situations are different. I don't come on the internet to pump my chest out about me. I gave my timetable. Chao

And all I said is that I hate your type of posts because 1 persons experience is not the standard. You posting it is the same as saying my situation is the standard.

Interesting. When did it go to three?

I guess it's pretty much spelled out. Per Nfl.com.

"Each team can only use one tag each year -- they can't designate both a franchise and transition player. A rescinded tender counts as a tag, meaning a team can't designate one player, rescind it, and use a new tag on another player in the same year. A player can be tagged up to three times by his team, with a jump in pay each occurrence."

And all I said was I hate guys who don't read the entire post. Because I never implied that my situation is the standard. In fact I pointed out everybody is different as is every injury. I typed from my experience(s). Someone asked what the typical recovery time is on a labral repair. Again, I can't speak for anybody else, so I gave mine. Hate is a strong word on my part, so I will say "I don't care". If I dislike a post, I move along and "no comment". I am not that uptight of a person.
