Stephen: Wants Dak's deal done before season

You would rather wait until he's a free agent and either have to pay him then or franchise him for 28+M for one season? Had we re-signed DLaw last year we probably could have gotten him cheaper. If Dak has a productive 2019 season which is very likely with another year of experience under his belt along with our improved receiving corp, his price tag is going to go way up. It would be better to try and work something out now, rather than possibly have to pay him 30+M after a big 2019 season. Look how much he improved with the addition of Cooper last season. He put up around 2200 yards the last 8 games of the season. Gallup is only going to get better in year two and with the addition of Cobb and Witten, Dak's numbers could go way up and so will his contract demands.
People honestly think Dak is going to regress or fall apart lol that is literally the least likely scenario. Maybe if you predict he’ll stay relatively similar then we can have an honest discussion; but thinking the guy is going to take such a step back he won’t be resigned is just a haters fairy tale

The Giants, that dreadful football team, you need a late touchdwon to beat the Giants, a playoff team with a good quarterback puts that team away in the first half...

And I heard plenty of the receivers on this team telling the media early in the season they were open before Cooper got here but Dak was too busy, standing in the pocket tapping the football taking sacks instead of throwing his dink and dunk passes....Dak has a long way to go before he should be handed the keys to the bus.....and the Cowboys should draft a developing qb every two years..

The Giants had a future HOF QB who won 2 SB's playing for them. They went all out just like we did and we won in dramatic fashion. Dak had a lot of pressure on him with his rookie deal coming to an end after the 2019 season. If the receivers we had were getting it done before Cooper got here we would have never traded a #1 for him. You still haven't answered my question. For the THIRD TIME if Dak doesn't prove to "you" in 2019 he's deserving of a long-term contract assuming he doesn't sign before the season what do you do at the QB position?

How much we have now may not be the same in a year - a lot can happen.

Somebody is going to be the odd man out in this - even if it's not a guy we have mentioned yet. You give out big contracts and overpay, someone is leaving without a contract eventually.

You can't have a ton of money tied up between a top 3 RB, overpay for a middling QB, and giving big money to WR along with the O-Line getting decent money and it not impact you somewhere on the defense.

This is also when I start to look at being able to pay depth players in the future as well. You lose somewhere.
No literally we have the money to pay everybody.

The only things that can happen that tie up more space is signing ppl. There’s nothing unpredictable about cap space and contract management.

If anything, guys like Witten and Lee plus the 10 other 1 year deal guys who aren’t priorities will leave and make it even easier to keep the core together. You’ll never have enough to sign the WHOLE team, role players, etc. But for once this team has made decisions with the future in mind, setting it up to where we can pay to keep all the guys we want. Key word being want.

I lost track how many times Tyrod Taylor was brought up to replace Dak, with some claiming he's as good if not better than Dak. Taylor just signed with his 4th team in March after lasting only one season in Cleveland. The Browns were so sure he wasn't the answer, they used the #1 overall pick on Mayfield after they had already signed Taylor. You have fans here who want to trade multiple #1s for Russell Wilson, who only a few years ago was being called a bus driver by fans on this board. Everything fans here were saying about Wilson they're now saying about Dak. There can't be a dumber fan base in the NFL than this one and the biggest collection of dummies end up on this board.
Tell em!

Now there's a scary thought. What if Stephen is worse?

That should keep us up at night. Well those of us not living in the fantasy that he already runs the team.

Your just not very good at all this football stuff are you?

Its beautifully obvious that Stephen is way better at this then his father. What we have seen the last few years is proof of that. Yet this is just one more thing that you sit there confused and dumbfounded about.

The ONLY question left for me remains with the HC thing. Is Stephen a Garrett/puppet guy or not. Cant tell at this point.

I specifically said someone is walking, did I not? You are the one who is saying "we have the money to pay everybody" - so which is it? Maybe choose your words a little more carefully.

Again, you're either going to lose a valuable starter(s) or you're losing depth. You cannot have this much money tied up to one side of the ball and have money to pay "everybody", your words. We are not going to pay everybody, we won't, and we will lose valuable players somewhere on our team.

You keeping saying that but Im just not seeing it. WE have tons of cap space to sign everyone.

Its like some hopeless rally cry that you are making up in your head. All this team is missing is a safety, a DT, and real coaching. Everything else is ready to roll.

Lmao y’all do realize that cap space doesn’t play on sundays right? The whole point of money is to sign good players lol, all those guys have been Pro-Bowlers, All-Pros, or both. We should be overjoyed that we have that many high quality guys on the team and the money to keep them all.

Not whining for more cap space lol

LOL.............yep you nailed it. These clowns are complaining that we have a QB in his first 3 years that has the following resume:

-Rookie of the year
-Two pro bowls
-3 winning seasons, no losing seasons
-two season making the playoffs
-One playoff victory
-Leads the NFL in 4th quarter and overtime comebacks since he entered the league
-Our players love him
-Has been one of the most clutch QB's in the NFL

Yet these cry babies are still crying that we are going to resign the guy?

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao:

Its a running joke now.

And if this team had any top consensus QB in this league at the helm, it might have already reached the NFC championship game or Superbowl
So if we don’t have the best qb in the game then it’s not good enough and we should keep going through them till we find the next phenom sure fire HOFer?

What kind of logical or practical basis is that?

Apparently none of this matters if you throw for 300 yards every game like Kirk Cousins

Honestly, its just pathetic. But at this point you just have to laugh. Dak is about to be signed to a long term deal and these guys wont enjoy the team for the next 10 years. Its sad, but true.

Stumbling onto this kid was an absolute miracle. To be upset about it is nothing short of treason. Only some lowlife Eagles fan would come on this site and haggle a young QB with that kind of resume.

But but but Daks a winner... unless he doesn’t have an eliteWr, RB and OL. Lol

The clock is ticking. Once we sign Dak and start chopping up this core of talent we’ll see what we have. Hopefully it’s more than we had without Eliott, Cooper and Smith.
Someone's a winner on that team, right? Why are they winning?

Why do y’all think that when Dak gets signed the whole team becomes free agents? You guys do know the whole core except for maybe Byron will be resigned regardless if Dak gets 30 right?

We have more than enough space lol this isn’t an opinion its numbers and facts. The core doesn’t get chopped up with his contract getting signed lol yall just wanna imagine that a big contract releases the whole team and forces the qb to play with backups
