I was a critic of Romo too in many situations.

What AC fails to mention is he was a leading basher of Romo and it appears his agenda is about Dak accomplishing more than Romo to fulfill his hate for a Romo.

I actually like Dak and recognize his intangible assets. I’m just critical of his lack of prolific passing abilities.

And concerned about having a franchise QB who’s more of a Bus Driver than elevating those around him. When he’s surrounded by a star studded talent we are competitive but still not championship caliber.
:clap:I applaud you my good sir in the eloquently structured flow of intended thoughts seamlessly placed into compiled prose in such an expeditious fashion:thumbup:

*:lmao: it prolly would've took me 30 minutes & 3 glugs of fine tuning to have posted up that in draft ,before hitting post reply,,, er,,,and then after it hit the board? Probably 2 more fine tunings would be required,,,:lmao: I've always been more of a reader than a writer though,BROTHER:)

This team has enough talent that with an Elite passing QB we are serious contenders for Super Bowl.

Dak has some game he’s just not one of the better passers. It’s makes life tougher.

Imagine this offense with a Brees or Rodgers. Or a Goff or Mahomes.

Ok this post makes it pretty obvious you’re just not even close lol. Def thought I was discussing with someone who had a good grip on the team, my bad gave you a bit too much credit.

Lmao highlights of the post were Maliek Collins is one of the worst DT’s in the league and that this roster isn’t talented. Real accurate takes there huh lol

https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/maliek-collins/10701

Collins was ranked #95 - he is not good.

Still... incredible they've had winning records, huh?
Amazing.

As Cowboys fans, we shouldn't just be satisfied with "Winning records" - you can still miss playoffs with a winning record. We are a prolific team, historic - championships matter. Not 9-7 or 10-6 seasons.

Not really. Quincy Carter had a winning record and led us to playoffs . And he was awful.
Which has nothing to do with this team and your attitude towards it.

Remember?

"We’re such a desperate fan base for an Elite QB. We’re deprived in the front office, coaching staff and most critical position. Amazing we’re competitive at all." - You

Dak deserves his contract. I see both sides of the coin here. Last thing I’d like to see is him have a bad year after signing a huge contract.

I’d let him play this year out in a new system and see what happens. If it costs the team a few extra million so what? If he bombs it could end up saving the team millions of dollars.

Exactly right, my friend. I won't get into a debate about who is worse. Jerry, Stephen and Prescott are made for each other. All frauds.

Horrible GM, terrible Director of Personnel, weak Head Coach, awful QB. That's a tough road to a championship.
L
Then which franchise QB in Cowboy history was a less prolific passer?
Merideth, Morton, Staubach, White or Romo? Please do tell..
The first four played when 40-50 receptions was considered a lot. Only Romo played in the current nfl. Dak wins. Good enough for me. What would you suggest we do? Go thru a string of carters, hensons. Leafs, etc.?

Lol that link gives him an average grade for the year which isn’t quite worst in the league but hey average might mean worse in the league now based on how this forum works.

Collins is a solid DT, not saying he’s a Pro-Bowler but he is far from terrible. Here’s an evaluation on his season by people who break down his film

This team is the best it’s been on paper arguably since 1993. Don’t try to make it worse to fit an agenda

That wasn’t my question . I did choose them carefully.
You're stuck on "prolific passer" because it's all you have left. You complain ad nauseum about the Jones boys not doing anything to get back to championship football yet here you are hanging your hat on how plays look and stats instead of the fact the kid wins games.

Dak is the guy who should be signed as soon as possible, assuming he and his agent aren’t trying to hold us up.

First, the QB is the most important player on the team. No, Dak isn’t close to being as good a QB as Zeke is a RB, but Dak is much more important due to the position. You sign Dak before all the other young studs start signing, even before Wilson if possible. The longer you wait on Dak, the more astronomical his contract will become. Set the market for him now before someone else sets it for you.

Second, once your QB is signed to a contract that locks him up for the next 4-5 years, then you know the parameters for Cooper and Zeke and anyone else. It’s not about how much you pay other guys...the market always determines that, not your salary cap space....you pay the market or they walk. But having other key players signed, like your QB, helps you start structuring the contracts in ways that work best over 3-4 years down the road so you aren’t cutting stars because you mismanaged the cap.

Dak first; then you mitigate his increase somewhat by extending Cooper so his huge fifth year hit doesn’t happen. Then you start dealing with Zeke, which will be all about what’s reasonable for a Star RB.

Winning games is fine. It makes for a tolerable 16 game season with occasional gravy to boot.

But if you want championships a HOF caliber prolific passing QB is what this offense needs to take us to the next level.

There’s enough elite surrounding support to win games . A QB with talent level of our WR and RB we become SB contenders. Without that .. it’s going to be more of a struggle.

So if we don’t have the best qb in the game then it’s not good enough and we should keep going through them till we find the next phenom sure fire HOFer?

What kind of logical or practical basis is that?

Dak isn't even in the top ten, barely in the top twenty as far as QB's go in this league.....He isn't even Trent Dilfer but I guess that's how you hope Dallas wins a Superbowl......with a number one defense then!!....

I have to see a lot more than what I've seen so far from Dak before I hand him a massive deal that could cripple the franchise if he isn't the end all be all some of you think he is....

You don't believe they should be even winning games. You're amazed they're even competitive.
Let's put the truth on the table guy and talk it. And then keep talking it.
I'm talking about you, Shifty Shifster.

You come from all over the place, politician.
