"I've said this to [Moore]: I want those new ideas," Jones said with a smile. "I want them fought for until the glass breaks. Squeal. Holler. If they're not being implemented, call me, but let's get in here and do the kinds of things we do to get the most out of a very talented roster

Not exactly said as it was put, and do you really think he was serious about it. Another example of something being twisted into something it is not. But hey, like high school kids, fans will run with it and make it what fits their agenda.

The Cowboys have won 32 games in the last 3 seasons yet can’t get over the hump. The offense has been just good enough but the defense, minus the playoff game against the Rams, has been the best unit on the team. Linehan’s offense was old school and predictable. High school coaches were calling their plays just by looking at down and distance and how they lined up. Finally, we have a young, unknown by the league new offensive QB. I don’t think for a second it’s going to be Linehan’s offense with just some new wrinkles. His job is on the line. His reputation is on the line and Garrett is going to let him run this offense. I’m expecting a almost completely new offense. It can’t be any other way. You have to let a new offensive coordinator be the offensive coordinator. I know the Debbie Downer habitual whiners won’t agree, but that’s to be expected. They’ll say it’ll be the same ole same ole with just a couple new wrinkles. That’s what they do. Live as a pessimist.
Neither the offense or the defense has, so far, proved itself capable of consistently (please reread: CONSISTENTLY) delivering the goods in the postseason.

Maybe the Moore promotion will be “the missing link” but, until success ACTUALLY HAPPENS, it’s just another carrot on the stick.

My issue with the offense, besides predictability, has been tempo. Good modern NFL offenses (NE, NO) play with a lot of tempo. Not a lot of time in the huddle or line of scrimmage. They dictate pace and keep the defense off balance. I would also say they use many more formations than Dallas. That said, this team is built to run it so I can't see much that would change that. If they improved the tempo, worked in screen packages, changed up formations, and became less predictable I think everything would improve.

really I think the real point is Linehans gone, that is a two fold upgrade, one yes Moore is unknown and has lot to prove regardless if its the same Offensive playbook or not its not the plays that are the issue, its the way they are called in game and how they are used to set up the defense later ie playing chess vs checkers, Linehan seemed stubborn and wanted to just play straight up to beat you, I believe any change from that in game philosophy is positive.

secondly do you rally believe this is status quo for Garett and Moore as they just saw scott fired and no extension for JG, do you really believe they will say Meh we will just do it all the same again with no regard for losing their jobs because that is the writing on the wall, this is the countdown for a team wide coaching change should this remain status quo..

I prefer to be positive and from the QB who led Boise states crazy offense in college has to have some of that in his memory banks to pull from and having some toys to make it work, I say give it 5 or 6 game into the season to simmer and get direction and im betting this will look different from the SL days....

It is still Garrett's offense.

Since 2007, when Garrett became OC, his offence has averaged top 10 in the league.

We don't need a flash-in-the-pan college offence, which is what I think some people would like to see. We need some creativity; someone who knows how to exploit match-ups, work to players strengths, & will bring in some new concepts. Hopefully Kellan is the guy.

The burn barrel buddies are too far into passing Ripple around, to take notice. They haven't yet paid the price for the habit. Some seem to think that a preppie ring tapping is a smart practice...but drink their Ripple anyway.

The offensive line, receiver group, running backs, and tight ends have all been improved from last season. This year's offense should reflect directions taken.

Judgement of successes has changed as well...and Moore is relevant.

I’m more excited for this offensive scheme change than anything else this offseason. I just hope there is real change and they open up the offensive creativity.
Regardless of creativity, it's really all about execution.

Example: Look at Peyton Manning. He ran the simplest of plays and would kill you every time because his guys did their jobs.

There’s no reason to expect a new offense. Much like with Linehan it’s Garretts offense. Moore’s contribution will be play calling and schemes within the offense.

I’m certainly not aware of any “ new” offense Moore has developed or brought with him?

Wow. He wants him to undermine his HC now. What a joke.
Jesus what do y’all want? Moore to run the O or Garrett? Wouldn’t you want Moore to implement something new even if Garrett is holding him back lol. Is JG gonna sabotage the team if Moore goes to JJ, no.

Suddenly you’re worried about Garrett’s feelings and I don’t understand why

All I said is JJ said it. That’s unequivocally true, again if you want to believe it or not is up to you but saying it didn’t happen is factually incorrect.

I think it’s more of JJ just stressing that Moore will have a say and the scheme won’t be the same thing it’s been the last 3 seasons.

And it isn't factually incorrect for someone to paraphrase it and to make it sound completely different than what the actual context was?
Whatever, I don't care. It is not important, then, nor now.

I would prefer them both not to be employed by this team

I said JJ told Kellen Moore he could go to him, and that’s what Jerry said. The poster before me paraphrased it with a little more exclamation but the message was by and large the same.

Pretty cut and dry. This ones over lol
