Who knows if the Cowboys will be even as good as they were in the latter half of the season and not closer to what they were in the first half? Who knows if LA, NO, CHI, PHL, GB, MIN, ATL or SEA will be better or worse?

If it were easy to project this, we wouldn't have so many prognosticators wrong every season about everything but the AFC East.

He is putting Jason Garrett on notice.

Jerry going around telling the fans the team should be better than last year sets the expectation bar. What do you think is going to happen if the team fails to improve upon last year's performance after Jerry and his boy spent the whole offseason telling fans this is the year we get over the hump?

We either make a deep playoff run or Clappy is cleaning out his office in January.............its a win-win either way, so I'm happy

Really? I like the Quinn move a lot. But generally we’re just deeper and another year more experienced. Either way, we’ve got a good team and should compete for the NFC.

I agree..............the team should be better............in fact, this might be the best roster Garrett has had during his tenure.

And In year 9, I dont think it is too much of request that your head coach wins something more than a Wildcard game. Players have to preform in their contract year, so I dont think it is out of line to require your head coach to preform in his contract year.

I like the Quinn move too. But I feel he's just the equivalent to Gregory. The biggest move most are sleeping on is the DT Covington from the texans. He could make a huge impact. We are more prepared to handle injuries this year tho.

That’s what happens when you hype it up. If it doesn’t meet those expectations then you must explain and find scapegoats. It’s a vicious cycle all to promote and sell his product.

The problem for Garrett is just about dam near everybody on the coaching staff has been replaced during his tenure.

And with Scott Linehan getting the axe this offseason, there really is nobody else left but Garrett.

Lets face it, if this season is a disappointment, the fans are going to want Jason Garrett's head on a pike outside the stadium and Jerry and his idiot boy finally seem willing to do that to please the masses. Besides, new coach means new hope, see how this works.

Quinn can at least stay on the field.
We're deeper in the secondary.
We're deeper on the DL.
We're deeper at RB.
The off season will bring more room for young development.
Cooper will have time to build.

Looks better, doesn't mean we WILL be but it looks better.

IDK people better not sleep on the Commanders. I think they made some great moves this offseason. Going to be tough to win this division.

I still have to ask:

• Who's the quarterback? A deciding factor of any team's fate.
• Who's the #1 wide receiver on that team? I see a bunch of miscalculations.
• Will their O-line implode with injuries three years in a row?

I still see a two horse race between Dallas and Philadelphia.

Do you look to see and read all other 31 teams to know this?
Just because it is not shown on BSPN or NFLN or elsewhere doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It is just better headlines when Jerry says it. So the mediots can put more negative spin on it for the fans of other teams, as well as Dallas' own fans that don't like the team or jerry either.

I don't look at all the other teams stuff, so I won't say they say similar stuff. But I bet they do. It is just not shown nationally like Jerry, because it is too easy to not resist putting it out there.

Do I wish Jerry keeps quiet, yes, but it is not going to happen. And sometimes I don't mind, such as this, as it puts the coaching staff, and mostly Garrett on notice.

All that matters is how you finish. Last year proves this point. With no real WR threat our offense struggled beyond just the O line. Then it pulled itself out when we got Cooper and the O line played better. No reason we can't go further.

Pretty dramatic considering that literally all he said we that there was no reason to be expected to be better. I find it odd anyone would take that and twist it to a negative, let alone your Jerry Jones vendetta.
