If Jason Garrett goes, so should Dak Prescott

Hope is not a plan. You want Dak and Garrett out at all costs. No specific ideas for replacement and instead you hope that the QB crop is going to be good in the upcoming draft when they have not even played this year and that we fail hard enough in the season to get one. You do realize talented QBs go high right?

Wrong. And my entire post is specifically built around IF these two fail to take the next step.

Go back into hiding like after your election prediction flubbed.

Yall are missing the point and I agree with the OP

Dak and Garrett are in the final years of their contracts. Why keep one and not the other when they both attributed to the continued mediocrity of this football team.

The ones that want to keep Dak regardless are just his apologists

They just see red when things are negative towards Garrett and Dak - both camps are whining in this thread. Some throwing Dak under the bus, others throwing Garrett. They both are the definition of mediocrity, which oddly, our fan base wants to keep us in because they jumped the gun and bought a Prescott jersey too early and need to justify the payment.

Like who? The Cleveland Browns of today aren't the Cleveland Browns of old. Packers? Yeah, they got a first round pick to replace Favre. Raiders? Bears? Steelers?

I would say, that on a recognition scale, only the Steelers and Patriots (due to the last couple decades) are right there with being as iconic or more iconic.
I’d start with Title Town USA. I’ve been there . No place more special than Lambeau Field. There’s a reason the Packers and Bears are opening up the 100th season celebration.

And I mentioned both of them, but it's a simple fact - Bears popularity has not stood, and the very reason for this is, their success hasn't really transcended the decades. A lot of this has to do, outside of the 80s, they've been stuck in mediocrity. Is that the route you want to go? A team that consistently goes 8-8 or 9-7 every other year? That's Miami Dolphins, that's what their fans should have come to expect.

This isn’t about popularity or recent success. The history of the league goes back long before Dallas had a team. I’m old enough to remember.

"I'm old, I win" - no one cares, grandpa. This is like stating, because the Browns had some wins in the slow motion black and white days, they are more iconic. They're iconic now for being a dumpster fire, not for what they did when your daddy was breathing in all that coal smoke.

Or should we go all the way back to leather heads? You know, the absolute foundation of football.

Shouldn't be tied to coach at all. Next coach can decide what QB he wants to go with period. Don't ya think, unless your afraid the next coach might actually stick with Dak and YOU don't like that idea. Just saying....

I think he's assuming the next head coach would prefer a QB with talent.

 Nice diversionary tactic. I advice you to stop trying to bring up politics. i am not going to say more than your characterization is way off base and your memory of what i wrote is flat wrong.

You said that the championship game was not enough and wining the SB might not be enough. IOW, the "next step" is all but unattainable.

You seem angry, btw, you should go do something else.

There’s teams with more historic significance than the Cowboys.

Since he spoke of 'historic significance' it may well be appropriate to go back to leather heads.

You use strident language and aggressive tones in an effort to bully others into submission. But anyone following along can see that you're shifting the terms under discussion, from 'historic significance' to 'recognition' or 'being iconic'. He's right to resist you by pointing out it's not about popularity or recent success. He was taking about historic significance. Why did you take him on if you were interested in having a different discussion?

I’ve state many times why I support Garrett. Few which have anything to do with his coaching ability.

He’s the best puppet I’ve seen for our dysfunctional situation. I think he brings many assets to our messed up situation . Unfortunately they don’t include as much on Game Day.
Johnson was a puppet

His constantly aggressive tone is laughable. It's an internet forum, buddy. Stop acting like you want to fight someone.

And what it boils down to, is Matt really doesn't have that many cards to play. You read any post or thread by him, and it always comes down to the same points over and over.

-Dak sux (I'm sorry that he beat you up and took your lunch money when you were a kid).

-Zeke doesn't break long runs (he breaks 15+ yarders at the second-highest rate in football).

-Zeke doesn't score TDs (he scored 25 TDs in his first 25 games, the law of small numbers ensures he was going to have a down season some time but scoring/short yardage is absolutely not an issue).

-Cooper only had two big games (did you not see the dude separating at will? did you not see his playoff games? Coop's the real deal).

His shtick gets old very fast.

Lakers are in danger of this also right now.

QBs are a needle in a haystack.
Based on being a coach for 29 years. It's a lot easier to win with great players and mediocre Coaching than it is with great coaching and mediocre players.

Tell that to the Pats who have the 31st pick like.....every year. :)

Like Coach Pop with Tim Duncan and Buford, Billy Bel has Brady.
That's like a cheat code buddy.

Your obsessive Dak hate is creepy at this point. Let a new coach pick his own coaches and players, whoever they may be. And if 32 wins in 3 years with 2 playoff appearances and 2 division titles is mediocre for a 3rd year QB, I'd like to see a good season from one.

This.

There's not "creepy" about this - we have both a coach and QB of the team that is fan forum is about, on the last year of their contract. This is a valid discussion, if you dislike - get out of the thread.

Next.

Love how you pseudo bounce people for not falling in line with your random anxiety attack threads like this one with Dak at the epicenter.

I always read your posts because I respect your opinions, but to boyzmamacita's point it is old: and a bit weird.

Garrett is doing just fine , it's a process . Give him 10 more years , and he'll get there .

It's simply a matter of faith , .5000000 will get us into the superbowl someday .
