I am not necessarily saying a move has to be done now.

But if it looks like in camp that Iloka is not threatening Heath and that Donovan Wilson is not the Kam Chancellor clone he is being sold as, I definitely move Collins or anyone else on the roster who can fetch value.

Trading a player on the final year of his contract and getting something for him more than a fourth round comp pick is a win.
I agree. At some point in the near future we should have an inkling of what collins will want. If too much, trade him.

I think many see a player drafted in the 1st round round and assume he will play up to his draft status. When you see another team draft his replacement (Karl Joseph), the proof is in the pudding. We see this time after time, you think Indy would like to get back that 1st rounder for Trent Richardson? Let's do another Carpenter for Alex Barron Trade, that was awful for both teams. Very rarely do you hit lightning in the bottle with a player who was a 1st round bust.

What's it going to be then, eh?

no way. Looney shown his worth to the team last year.
McGovern can play center or guard as well. Looney is not nearly as valuable now as he was prior to the draft.

That said, I don't know if anyone would take a look at him and say there's our starting center.

I'm not going to argue who is better, because it doesn't matter. The point is that Joseph doesn't improve anything for this defense. They need to force more turnovers, and Joseph doesn't do that.

Then it's a poor "point".

Also, with regard to Karl Joseph, were you aware that the guy at one point in college had 5 INT's in 4 games?

I'm guessing you didn't.

Not trading Looney for anything less than a 2nd or 3rd. He was too valuable to the team.

Then Looney stays a Cowboy because no one is giving up a third round pick for Joe Looney.
Don't laugh, but he is probably thinking just like a Jones just there.

What? Trade Looney? Are you out of your mind? Day 2 pick or no deal!

Yep. 3rd or a 4th depending on the team and how likely it is they suck.

But this FO has never shown forward thinking when it comes to accumulating higher draft stock so I don’t think anything will happen.

your right...we usually let our players run their wheels off then we discard them...never getting anything back for them. Looney was so valuable to us, Im very hesitant to trade him at all. He can play guard and center.

I honestly don't care what he did in college, and it doesn't matter if he had 50 in a season. He's been in the NFL 3 years - his college stats are no longer relevant. He has 3 INTs in those 3 years, in those same 3 years, Heath has 5. To think Joseph is going to come in and just all of a sudden be a turnover machine is dumb.

No. Not trading Looney. Actually I think we should pass after last year. To many dinged up O-Line here and there and not enough depth.

Thing is though....KJ played pretty well last season.

This is most certainly the Raiders dangling Karl Joseph and seeking a LG (Looney?). The Raiders brought in Richie Incognito for a visit two days ago, but have not yet offered him a contract. At LG, they have Denzell Good and Chaz Green. Yes, that Chaz Green.
i thought for sure I would never read that chaz green was on a nfl roster. the guy is total waste. an undrafted free agent would be better then him.

Fine. But he wouldn't be a difference maker in this defense, because the SS isn't put in a position to be. The Cowboys defense struggles to create turnovers. Joseph doesn't do that.

agree, they moved him to SS because of poor coverage skills and he still has trouble with TEs according to Raider fans.

That would be great! Bring Moore out of retirement!!! Lol!!!!!!!!

Sadly...He's probably still better that our starter right now. You all realize he threw for 435 and 3tds in his 2nd home start right? Dak dreams of those numbers...

I'd trade him either Looney or Su'a Filo today for Karl Joseph if that who they were actually calling about.

But I don't see why it would be Collins at this point. They have both of their starting tackle and have invested heavily in both. Left guard is their weak spot.

Maybe they see Collins as a better G than T. I think it's Collins.......notice fast you're willing to trade Looney and Su'a. I'm guessing it had to be a player the Raiders thought highly enough to call and we thought highly enough NOT to trade at this time. I don't see that in Looney or Su'a...both have been career backups....
