1) Penalties: Our Boys have routinely been one of the most penalized teams in the league under Garrett. A lot of the penalties have been simple mental mistakes. Good coaches find a way to correct these issues before they become bad habits.
2) Lost Play Calling Duties: Garrett was supposed to be an offensive guru when he was hired. Two years later he had to give up the play calling duties because he couldn't handle it. He decided to give the job to Callahan.
3) One Sided Offense: Garrett clearly hates running the ball. In 2012, the Boys threw the ball on 66 percent of their offensive plays and followed that up with 65 percent in 2013. The NFL has certainly become more pass happy, but Garrett has taken it too far with a lot of the fourth quarter meltdowns.
4) Our D Keeps Getting Worse: Garrett isn't a defensive minded coach. What separates the good coaches from the rest is their ability to hire good assistants to do the things they don't excel at. Garrett has no idea what is going on with our D and can't seem to hire the right people.
5) His Teams Don't Improve: Going 8-8 for three straight seasons just about sums everything up for the Spitting Clapper. His teams have shown no improvement from year to year. The same mistakes are continually made. At this point, the Boys have become the child who is determined to fit a square peg into a round hole. Fortunately for Garrett, his Papa boss Jerry, who isn't smart enough to tell the child it won't work.
