Where do you stand on Garrett and why?

If I had to stand on Garrett...
That's tough. Is he going to fight?
I probably stand on his chest so I can quickly give a hop/stomp to subdue him. Maybe put a boot to his throat and give him a threatening look.

What do you think? I see flaws in this, but is there really a perfect plan for standing on somebody?
That threatening look should get your point across. You may want to grunt and snarl a few times for maximum effect.

A little slobber (@Diehardblues , HA!, get it?), maybe some foaming at the mouth?
I'll need this to look genuine.

You have to get it right. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Personally I would stand on his shoulders and do backflips until I got good enough to take the show on the road. I hear vaudeville is making a comeback.

Backflips... too risky. Might have a fall and they have time to roll.
Think man!

I really don't know how good of a HC Garrett is. Jerry has neutered him so much that he hardly even matters.

Did we ever say it was Norv and Dave, not Jimmy? And we know Jimmy let his coaches coach

Of course you do, because nobody gives the guy Credit.

From an Philly writer:
But Pederson, somehow, was out-coached by Jason Garrett. The Dallas coach was on life support. His offense is a relic. But it outpaced an Eagles offense that has scored more than 24 points only once this season.

"Starting with myself, all of us, we just need to look at ourselves in the mirror," Pederson said. "Are we doing enough? Are we giving enough? Each week it's a strain."

NFC Championship game. 9ers just scored and cut it to 3. Dallas had it deep in their territory and the momentum swung to the 9ers. Norv called down to Jimmy and asked, "Pass or run?"

Jimmy said, "I want to score."

I get your point, but in what world would Marinelli, Linehan and, The Red Clapper ever be compared to Jimmy, Norv, and Dave? Even Bizarro Superman's world would not make that link.

Lol, well, okay, if you prefer to live in 2013 I guess that’s your business.

That's not living in anything. That is just his record.

Coaches can make teams better. Parcels took a crappy Campo team and got to the play-offs with Quincy. The redheaded cheerleader had to wait until the front office put some players on the field.

It's just football.

Yet he went 13-3 with a rookie and losing his franchise qb . With also a suspect defense.

Or, another way to put it is Zeke and the offensive line, and a rookie QB who protected the ball went 3-13.

Yeah, that’s his record from 2013. Meanwhile here in 2019 the Cowboys have won the division 2 of the last 3 years, and 3 of the last 5 years.

Like I said, I’m all for switching head coaches, but I’m not going to make the weak argument that he needs to be replaced because of old news that doesn’t reflect current times.

Mark this down in your calendar. I have never said this before and probably will not again.

1. Players make coaches, by and large. Great coaches can make players reach near their limit, but you still need the talent on the field.

2. This was the FO and not the head puppet.

Lest we forget ole Blood and Guts Clappy McPatton blinked on a fourth and one and lost a game. Then Jerry (FO) suggested we not do that again and he didn't. He needed Daddy to teach him about Wild Cattin'.

Sometimes you have to push your chips in and take it all. Playing scared doesn't win the Trophy.

Nice ramble, but not worthy of marking on a calendar and not noteworthy whether you ever said it before or will ever say it again. And it doesn’t actually speak to what I wrote. But it does ramble.

Most if you know I think Garrett sucks, and those of you that have been around for a while know my reasoning. In a nutshell, I think he's arrogant, back stabbed Wade, and has no clue how to properly manage the flow of a game and much less during crunch time. @Idgit is on the other side of the spectrum. He loves his red headed Jesus. Why? I have no clue. Where do you stand and why?

JG is running our team on cruise control. We need a driver that moves over to the fast lane full throttle.

I was replying to Doomsday's post. Have no clue what you're complaining about.

You rang? lol I can't tell you or anyone on this board how you must feel about Garrett. I have made myself as clear as can be, I want to see him succeed because his success is the team success. I only care about this team not other fans views. Those who do not like Garrett I'm fine with it, you don't have to like him that is your choice. When someone tells me he does not understand the game I do find it comical considering he has spent much of his life playing the game and coaching the game compared to message board people who have not done anything. This is not to say people can't be critical of course they can but again making claims Garrett does not understand the game give me a break. I have also stated many times that if he fails and gets fired I have no issue with it because he was given ample time to get the job done and failed to do so and getting fired would be an admission that the organization has lost faith in him to get the job done.

He's still the coach? Damn... That's where I stand.

But, seems the players still play for him and like him. So, who knows.

Not a complaint, an observation. Doomsday's post was about being disappointed once he opened the thread and realized what the intent was, and your response to him was to explain your intent with the thread even though it wasn't you who created it.

You do understand that Garrett will be here for life? If Jerry relieves him of Head Coaching duties, he will just promote him to the Front Office. There's been a Garrett employed by this organization since 1987, Jason is a legacy, he ain't going anywhere.

And I'm OK with that... I think he'd be OK in the front offices...

Marinelli at his craft is highly regarded, every bit on the level of Dave . Neither Norv or Dave was anything until they won. Do we know the conversations Lineha n had with Jason during game? Also lets not get it twisted, Jimmy and Norv did it with a dominant team in a salary cap era, and as cor Norv me we duplicated that success

Zeke was a rookie too, what's your point? Regardless wasn't he still the coach.

I guess everyone has their opinion. Seems to me the overall job he has done ios the telling aspect of his ability. He got better when the Jones' hired McClay. who started getting better talent.

But let's quibble over his ineptitude in the beginning and his epic lack of success in the -play-offs first with Romo and Murray, and then Dak and Zeke and what os considered one of the best lines in football.

Yeah, that's an idea.,

As I have said, talent on the field makes mediocre coaching talent better, good coaching talent much better, and top flight coaching talent champions. Jimmy had an advantage because he could pick his players. But I doubt there is one person on this site who actually thinks Garrett could pick his nose, much less create a roster of champions..

As I stared in another response to someone else, follow Garrett's success. Find the hire date of Will McClay and see how that fits with the success if Garret.

You get him talent he can rise as much as the talent will take him, but he cannot make the talent play to their peak because he is a weak leader that is indecisive, doesn't understand the risk reward aspect of gambling at the right time, and doesn't come across as a real leader in many, if any aspects of his nature. Not to mention his subversion of Wade Phillips, which reveals a lack of character. This is not like Belichick cheating. This is leading the team to lose to get a job. And after Wade left that was an interesting conversation among the radio hosts and a couple of former offensive players how the game plans and passing routes changed from the week before to the week after, and the offense opened up. And that is where I soured on Opie.

He's just a smart guy that rose past his ability to coach. And in my opinion, that passing point was when he became the offensive coordinator.

Just my opinion.
