That’s a fine stat to support your narrative but our offense last year was 22nd in scoring . Not winning many playoff games against the more prolific QB’s and offenses with that.

17th in points/offensive series. Down from 9th in 2017 and 4th in 2016. Given how our team plays the game, with a good defense you can win games that way.

The Rams had a better team than we did in 2018. And had we converted that late 4th and 1, we very possibly tie that game late. I don’t think we’re far from legitimately competing with the team we’ve got here. I agree that we needed to address the offense and the red zone issues. We’ve done some of that. I guess we’ll see if the red zone issues improve enough.

I’d like different formations in the RZ, utilizing the TEs, Cobb, Brown and Pollard. Cooper, Gallup and Zeke can get us down the field.

A committee still has a head. An executive decision can trump the vote of a committee. The committee did a great job of convincing Jerry not to take Johnny College but that was Jerry's decision and his alone.
We finally have a system I'm not sure what that is but we have one LOL. Jerry just doesn't say here's the player make it work. They actually give him a choice. So it makes it seem like he's making the decision. Make no mistake about it they're playing his cards

Do you personally know Cowboy fans that think Jerry as GM provides us the best opportunity for success?
No, but I don't really talk Cowboys with anyone except the fine folks here. The large majority of fans I knew are former fans and mainly because of the Landry handling.

The key word there is opportunity because we have no idea who would be available, my first choice isn't leaving NE.

And I do not judge GM performance by whether the team has a Tier 1 QB. Most of that is just luck. However, I do judge based on the team they put around the QB and the weapons they give the trigger man. And I would say Booger is in the top 8 GM's in that right now.

I’m not sure how we’d rank a GM who won’t allow a normal coaching staff to exist and or operate ?

The largest responsibility of the GM is to hire the HC. It’s been Jerry’s greatest success and biggest failures.

Not in grade school so by method of elimination it is the other. And you're just a big ole smarty pants.

OK, I'll try this just one more time. Billionaire on the opening night of his crown jewel is caught on camera, Boogertron and national TV, with his finger a good knuckle up his nose. Ya know if we hadn't lost that game, preceded by that embarrassing loss to close the old stadium, I might have not adopted that as his new nickname, and it's just my immaturity that makes me like nicknames anyway, but it became immediate and forever. If he passes before I do, it will be Booger, RIP.

As far as respect, I do not respect anyone I do not know. I may respect their accomplishments, as I do his, but as far as true respect, nah, that has to be earned. I dunno, when I grow up, maybe I'll change.

There is one truth in what you said. Respect is earned but I'll use an analogy to help. People may not like a president, but loyal Americans respect the office of the President of the United States. You may not like what Jones did (even though I don't recall anything about that) but if you are a Cowboys fan (starting to doubt that) then you respect the owner/president/GM of the Cowboys which isn't calling him booger. Now don't you think it's time to put your childish ways aside.

The largest responsibility of the owner is to hire the GM. He failed to hire one and failed to hold him accountable and admitted so but that was then and this is now and he has gotten better. He's a slow learner.

If you look at the drafts, the primary job of the GM is the acquisition of talent, coaches and players, and I put him in the top 8 in the player category. Coaches? Unknown.

Nope and I am not one to respect an office but the person. Never have and never will.

Ya know why I make fun of him? Because he serves himself up being a Kardashian seeking the spotlight with very little to offer but he just keeps doing it. He makes himself a target.

And considering these days, I would select a better analogy than that one but it's nice to know you've defined loyal Americans for any in doubt.

How foolish and childish is that? That is definitely childish thinking not respect an office. Jones is the owner AND president/GM of the most recognized team in the NFL. He doesn't have to do a thing and he's still going to be in the news because of the Cowboys being who they are. For almost 2 decades the Cowboys were the 2nd most valuable sports team in the world until just a couple of years ago when they over took that #1 spot from a soccer team and is now the most valuable sports team in the world. Now who worked hard and put them in that position, ya that's right Jones. You may want an owner/president/GM to go hide in a cave somewhere but I'd rather he makes sure when it's the media or the league that they first think about the Cowboys over the other teams. Like I said, Jerry is still one of the most powerful owners in the league.

I do not respect the NFL. I like football and enjoy watching it but I respect neither the NFL nor the NCAA. So, him being one of the most powerful owners in a league that I do not respect does not get respect. However, being the single largest contributor to the Salvation Army does get respect but I will still call him Booger and who's not showing respect? You don't capitalize his name.

Ya see, I don't care about Dallas in the media unless it has to do with the game of football and this man makes sure a lot of superfluous window dressing like his toys and how much they cost get into the media. The Cowboys are not my favorite team because they are the media darling but in spite of that.

I know some don't like the Booger nickname but I think it is obvious that I don't care if they do or not because you are not the first to not like it. You do have control if that offends you and your sense of "respect the office", don't read my posts or put me on ignore. It's really a simple fix when you fail to facilitate change. Because as long as there are those that will show disrespect to their office in how they serve it, I retain the right to disrespect it as well.

Childish ways?!? Coach is a laid back absurdist who doesn’t take things too seriously. How can using the apt nickname “Booger” offend anyone?

To validate that stance taken, one has to now prove that team record, entrance into playoffs, and player roster hasn't been strong in the past five years. Sorry, Jerry Jones and his staff meet base line qualification standards for being a valid/positive function at GM in an organizational picture and flow chart.

Really think that cash for such a lucrative enterprise is out of norm? I don't...and this isn't a political picture book where agenda dominates all. Jerry is his own man and is valid in providing support for players, staff, community, and contributions to many arenas...including the Salvation Army.

He's a solid citizen, and I do highly support that aspect.

Right.. Booger isn’t an offending nickname.

We had a great aunt we called Booger cause she cussed, drank and smoked which back in the day as a school teacher was funny. She was a family favorite.

But IMO the nickname my closet circle of friends anointing him the day he bought the Cowboys” Jethro” after the character in Beverly Hillbillies is more insulting which it was intended to be.

Why is the Cowboys owner visibility important ?

Most Cowboy fans for the first 25 years couldn’t even name our owner.

That’s absurd. Your analogy is flawed as well. He doesn’t even respect the office he holds. We aren’t obligated to like or respect all of the moving parts including owners, coaches and players.

There’s many business we patronize and don’t like, respect or approve of the owner and or how they conduct their business.

That’s all official-sounding and scientific and everything, but we all have our opinions. I don’t have the budget for a research staff (had to let them all go, but we DID have a banquet!), but I don’t have to “validate” my opinion with anyone. I’ll explain my viewpoint, but that’s about it, except for a little absurd smartassery. We’re not paid professionals, we’re fans, and we don’t have to prove anything.
