So about 27 million a year. That contract is good for our negotiation.

I agree with you. I could see a day when sports will eventually over price fans out of the game because of these big contracts.
It's coming to that. The contracts in baseball are staggering as well. To think 1 player can make nearly 1/2 a billion playing baseball is nuts. Trout signed a 400 million contract last off-season and they are all guaranteed.

Someone help me understand this a little bit. It appears this contract helps us in our negotiation with Dak. Wentz had 2 years left on his contract at 2 years and $26.8 million. He got extended 4 years for $128 million bringing the total contract to 6 years and $154.8 million or $25.8 million per year. I was thinking that Dak would probably cost us $30 million plus a year. The only thing I don't understand in the $107 million guaranteed in Wentz's contract. Is that $107 million guaranteed over the first 3 years or the first 4 years.

Wentz will be paid $25 over the 6 yrs over 2 separate contracts. His 2nd contract kicks in and he will paid $32M per year. Dak and his agent will only be focused on the value of the 2nd contract, as they should because it is "new money".

I always liked Foles even though he's on the Eagles, but he's not Carson Wentz. He did have a storybook postseason and Super Bowl performance, but if he was the quarterback for the entire year they never would have made the playoffs. That year Wentz was like superhuman for that team right up until the 13th game where he ripped a couple ligaments scoring a touchdown. Foles will be back on the Eagles in a couple years after he's cut by Jacksonville. I don't think he's a starting quarterback in the NFL.
So if Wentz would have remained the starting QB in 2018 would the Eagles have made the playoffs? They were 6-7 when Foles took over. Wentz's 5 victories last year were against the Commanders at home with Mark Sanchez at QB, the Giants at home, Jacksonville at home, the Giants on the road, and Indianapolis at home early in the year before the Colts got hot. Not too impressive.

He is making good money considering he has had a few injuries. Looks like the egirls are all in.

If it’s around 27 or 28 million a year then I would match that for Dak.

I agree he’s not most elite but arguably elite. Dak shouldn’t be in that group is my argument.

And they should be based on success and talent.
You can change the definition of elite I guess. Whatever you need.

He was awful last year. No doubt in my mind that they don't make the playoffs if he didn't get hurt.

So we could basically turnaround and give Dak the same 4 year $128 million dollar extension that would put him under contract for 5 years and $130 million ($26 million a year) since he has 1 year and $2 million left on his contract.

It’s a subjective term. But if you consider Dak elite then I’d definitely disagree as most critics would.
You're not very good at this.

Name ONE SINGLE time I ever posted Prescott was elite? One.
You can't because it never happened. This is what you do when you get backed into a corner with facts. I'll even give a little wiggle room and add some gray area to the word elite.
Wilson STILL isn't in that ballpark. If you exclude TEAM accomplishments, his statistics are awfully close to Prescott, lol.
But continue to make up lies and your own definitions.

You only control his rights if you apply the franchise tag. That's a tremendous burden on the club, and usually pisses off the player. It also takes your ability to protect another star player from leaving. It's an option, but it doesn't change the fact he's an unrestricted free agent unless and until the FO decides to use it on him. I see it unlikely because it automatically wipes out 30 million at least from the salary cap In one year. That's crippling for signing other players and keeping your own..

True. I wouldn't franchise Dak. I'd sign him now. I'd consider using the Franchise Tag on Zeke for a year, and then saying, "Adios."

Jackie she did she said she become a from now on

Exactly, but he's not injured. Any quarterback would take it because playing the position is quite honestly dangerous. Your career could come to an end at any time. I think it was like 107 million guaranteed? You gotta be nuts not to take the guarantees in the NFL where contracts for the most part aren't guaranteed.
He’s been injured every year for the past 4 years. He’s injury prone.

That's just their unprofessional opinion. I'd like to ask why they feel Dak is worth less than a guy like Wentz.

Because despite what this place goes on about, Wentz was MVP level in 2017 and vital into getting the Eagles into position for a Super Bowl run. He also has a far higher ceiling than Dak.

Dak is Alex Smith level, in every category I have seen he compares to middling QBs of the game - he's not far off from players like Carr and Mariota. Carr getting overpaid does not mean we need to overpay as well.

The last sentence is made up by you to give yourself the upper hand outside of it maybe being a waste of time. That I can see but hell we all are wasting time even on here so at the end of the day even that doesn't mean much. You just want everybody to basically shut up that isn't on some hooray talk and that's just not how things work. No amount of shaming talk by you me or anybody else is going to change that either because I've definitely done similar things myself.

At least you concede that the chances of a random getting your boss to change your salary is soo small it isn't really worth mentioning. I mean you could be a multi millionaire today if you win the mega millions but that too is not likely.
Well ya. All the sentences were written by me to "give myself the upper hand". That is typically what happens in discussions where parties disagree. They provide comments that help backup and reinforce their viewpoint.

As far as a "waste of time", I don't consider things that one enjoys, like posting on a forum as being a waste of time. If all it does is brings you misery and anguish, then yes IMO, to post on a forum would be a waste of time. Just like REACTING to a contract with crying and anger is a waste of time. You, as a fan, cannot change it, so why dread and get angry about things you cannot change?

Hey, I just gave some advice I have learned myself the hard way, but by all means, take it or leave it. I'm not going to get upset about something (like other posters) acting like spoiled children that did not get their way due to their selfish entitled viewpoints. Because like you said "No amount of shaming talk by you me or anybody else is going to change that". I would not dare want "everybody to basically shut up". Not only is that against everything I lived for in my late-teens and early twenties, but it would make communities like this forum a boring place.

In conclusion, I just answered a question and gave verifiable evidence to support one of my examples in a rebuttal. If that irritated you, then that is by all means, your right.

But the chance of a "random" causing an employee's salary to be lowered is on the same level, probability wise, as a forum poster getting Dak to sign, or the Dallas Cowboys to offer, a lesser contract just because the poster believes Dak is not worth it.

If you failed to see the apples-to-apples comparison, then so be it.

I’d argue Wilson is considered more of an Elite QB than Dak. Certainly closer to that group. And most critics would agree. That’s not making up lies. They just don’t align with your opinions.

For some reason you struggle discussing issues surrounding Dak without getting emotional. Typical of the Slobbering we’ve seen over our QB. Lol
