You know at some point those two will have to die off. No way they continue winning the way they do.
I think I saw this post 5 years ago.
Until someone else figures out how to manage a team with these limitations, I don't care who he has at QB, NE will be a contender.
The difference between Belichick and other team builders is that they look at the starters as level 1 and backups at level 2 and Belichick has his backups at 1A. There is no level 1 player he is married to and has such power with his owner that the QB some feel is the GOAT and like family to Kraft had to take half the going rate for a Tier 1 QB or play elsewhere and he realizes that his legacy would not be what it will be with any other man in the NFL.
He's the best D mind in NFL history and has built his team for whatever kind of battle a team wants. Want a shootout or a D game, he can play either with equal aplomb.
I gave up on that "just wait" thinking about him after being wrong for the 3rd time in a row. He trades Chandler Jones and I think he's made a mistake, he trades Jamie Collins and I think he's made a mistake, he trade Brandin Cooks and I think he's made a mistake and then it dawns on me, me thinking he's made a mistake, that's the mistake!
I think the Cowboys are in the process of doing exactly what Belichick would not do. The best they can hope for is they get that ring before they have to dismantle it. Which is fine if that's the thinking, just get a ring. The difference is he thinks like that every year and he's the only one that can. He never finds himself in a must pay situation with multiple players.
He's also smarter than most because he has the best OC and OLC in the NFL and let's them do their thing while he masterminds his D.
