Is Zeke a top 3 running back?

Zeke grows up socially and at this point in time - I believe him to be as good (or better) than the others. It is the OL however, that Zeke owes a lot of his stats to. Remember how well McFadden ran behind the excellent OL a couple years ago ...

That line that Darren ran behind was better because of Free and the guy that left for Denver Leary.

OK .......I'll concede Barley, maybe, but no way in hell I'm putting Bell or Kamara over Zeke.

NFL.com ranked running backs across the league and left Ezekiel Elliott out of the top three

The Cowboys getting disrespected.

Ezekiel Elliott is perhaps the best running back in football. This is a common assumption.

Zeke has been in the NFL for three seasons now and has two rushing titles decorating his mantle. He may very well have a third if not for his much-debated suspension in 2017, but still, two out of three is very good. In fact, it’s elite.

To many, Elliott is the gold standard at the running back position. He excels in every way that a running back should, his lone weak spot is contributions via the passing game, and that’s more Scott Linehan’s fault than anything else.

I try not to pay too much attention to these ratings. They're just a futile exercise of a popularity contest, when all's said and done! ;)

Having said that, I'll take Zeke any old day of the week, in all honesty! I just can't help but wish he'd clean up his act, is all . . .

If it weren't for his off-the-field shenanigans I would easily put him in at least the top 5. The article above mentions his lack of contribution to the passing game. Thats more on Garrett and his sorry system for failing to use all the weapons he has.
He was definitely involved in the Detroit game last year!

The better a team's OL, the less need for a top 3 RB. Murray was a straight line power runner yet he led the league in rushing with that OL and what did he do afterwards?

Put the money up front where run and pass blocking are necessities. As well as a defense and they going to need some big bucks to keep some of the D players.

A top 3 RB isn't a necessity. NE hasn't had one but they have had a top 5 OL and top 10 run game every time they've won it all.

Keep the emphasis on that OL and this team can make it with a first contract RB(s).

1 game out of 16...

Does that mean Garrett's 'process' might finally be maturing?

Process is maturing like a fine wine, but none of us will be around in 100 years to find out. :muttley:

Wait...maybe this one...

Process is maturing like a fine wine, but Jerry drinks it too fast, so it can never process. :lmao2:

To be fair, Zeke did rank 35th in Elusiveness rating in 2018, and 40th in 2017, and 31st his rookie year.

Take it for whatever it's worth, but Zeke and elusive were mentioned so I figured I'd share.
Are you serious? WTH is an elusiveness rating? Just more armchair quarterback and fantasy football scientific bs. That’s just lame.

EE, and Barkley are the two guys in the conversation for best back in the league. Bell can prove himself and put himself back in the conversation but I cannot put him there right now.

No way I put Barkley over Zeke.
More East Coast media bias.

Zeke is the best hands down and no questions asked.
If you watch them both play there's no way can you put Zeke over Barkley.

Barkley is terrific but reminds me of Barry. Loses too many yards trying to dance around everybody. Lower your head and take the 2 yard gain when nothing is there, don't lose 3 yards trying to make something out of nothing....
I've never seen Barkley go backwards sideways like Berry. I've not seen him get negative yards he's always going forward. You have to watch the competition to comment on the competition

Elliott has all the tools to be the best this league has ever seen. Misses too many open holes. Little sluggish last season. At least twice he could have taken it to the end zone and he didn't . takes himself out of the game way too often especially in the red zone. If you could just get his head and body together at the same time
. he'd be unstoppable . okay but right now it goes to the Giants Barkley
