Yeah, and how many NBA players are from foreign countries? It's a globally followed sport, having one team from Canada is no big deal...
I agree. But saying you dont want the trophy in Canada on national TV is disgusting. How many canadians make up the NHL? So you're saying Canadian media should belittle American teams? No. We have respect. Stephen A doesnt

Appreciate that. Apparently a lot of Americans dont feel that way. That's why all of this laker prediction stuff. Stephen A fully said it yesterday that he doesnt want Kawhi in Canads and the trophy should be in the states. Hes a loser and anyone with that mentality is as well.
About 80% of America wants Kawhi to re-sign with TOR lol.
The other 20% is largely Lakers fan and professional haters like Stephen A Smith.
That dude is just tossing out nonsense for attention.
He says nonsense about he Cowboys 10 months out of the year.

All that said he is also a Knick fan so can see why he might want Kawhi in the West.
But most everyone realizes as Woj said on his podcast that if Kawhi goes to the Clips or Raps this is probably the end of the super team era and would be the most balanced, competitive NBA in a decade+.
Its frankly stupid for anyone not associated with the Lakers to want that.

Yes. He is. The problem is people eat up his bull like its fresh pancakes. Many Americans and American media want kawhi out of Toronto. There was a lot of unhappy people that Canada won the nba championship. Which is funny. Considering the freaking sport was invented here. I'm so sick of it.

Yeah, no. Naismith was Canadian but the game wasn't invented in Canada. Springfield Mass is the home of Modern Basketball and there is no question about that.

Toronto got suckered by Leonard...he used them to get the deal he wanted. He is not staying in Toronto and the GM should have made it clear that if you don't sign Toronto's offer by the start of FA, the offer would be rescinded...the guy does not stay healthy...they should have let him go and focus on getting his replacement...

What's your point? Pro Basketball started in 1897. First Pro game ever played was in Trenton NJ. I mean, so what, Modern Basketball was invented in Springfield and if you really want to get down to it, it was invented in South America/Mexico. You don't hear me complaining about it. You said the game was invented in Canada, that's not true. The game was not invented there and the Modern game was not invented there. I gave Naismith his due and said he was Canadian but he didn't invent the game in Canada and that's a matter of recorded history.

Celtics signing Vincent Poirier from France. Rebounding, rim running big. 25 year old Euro rookie, could a Theis like signing. Good chance he gets playing time over Robert Williams

Also we resigned Theis

I am guessing TOR has it's own options if KL leaves like trading off some vets and starting a quick rebuild.
It sucks but after having a good team that couldn't get over the top for a good while, winning a title and bouncing into a rebuild isn't awful.

KL didn't beg for a trade to TOR but he accepted it and helped you win a title.

Him giving TOR last shot to sway him is huge IMHO and a very class act.

And at no time have I heard KL say that he was not going back to Toronto. It could end up that way.

Here is an interesting thought. Celtics loved Bamba during the draft and strongst considered trading up for him. Orlando made him available at the trade deadline. After locking up Vucevic for 4 years, I wonder if Ainge calls at some point

What will be interesting is what The Lakers do if Leonard doesn't sign. I think they probably have a shot at Green if Leonard doesn't sign. I think they have no shot if Leonard does sign. I think maybe Cousins is a possibility. Marcus Morris is another guy. Melo is rumored to be coming for minimum. Rondo is possible, as well as Jeremy Lin. Will be interesting to see what happens here.

What's interesting is that the longer he waits, the more he hurts the odd teams out and specifically, both LA teams. I feel like Toronto is set up to either resign Leonard or just sweep the decks if he leaves and look to rebuild. But the Clips and the Lakers are all in for this year, to me. The longer Leonard waits, the more it hurst both of those teams IMO.

Cousins and praying he returns to 80% of his former self is probably the best you could hope for.

Possible. They just signed Kanter so they may try to see what happens there and maybe make a move later in the season. Could be though.

Honestly, I don't think so. I think there are still moves that can be made by the Lakers or the Clippers. But I will say this, the longer it takes, the slimmer those options become.

Kanter is very limited defensively and is only a bandaid. He is a guy that has been unplayable in the playoffs before

He brings what they are looking for. They don't need scorers in Boston. They need some height and some rebounding IMO.

He is a scorer. The rebounding helps, but ideally you want him coming off the bench

Kanters PBM is pretty good so I don't know if it's really true that you want him coming off the bench. I agree that he has problems with bigger Centers but everybody does. At this point, Boston has nobody at Center, outside of Kanters so I feel like it was a great sign, especially for the money and for the time frame they got him.

All I'm saying is Stephen a is a loser for basically telling canadians to stick to hockey on live TV and completely not giving Naismith his due. That's all. Man should be suspended or fired for a comment like that

It was a good signing especially for the money. Kanter is definitely not a garbage player. He will be useful. How they still need to continue to look elsewhere because his limitations are going to hurt them in the playoffs if they have to play him big minutes. Especially in our scheme where bigs need to be able to switch. His defense issues arent as much manning up a 5, its switching on the P&R.
