The alternative: Let bullys roam the landscape, pushing down those they dislike with no repercussions and enjoying the benefits of freedom.
If what Zeke did was a criminal act. We all should be arrested because we all have done worse.

Where did the story say that? He hasn’t even been arrested or charged. Even if he does get charged, it doesn’t necessarily mean he will go to trial.

If he doesn’t come to settlement, even if charges are ultimately dropped he’ll be sued by the guy. It’s the natural order of things this is intended for by the accused. Money is the endgame. Inevitably he’ll be represented in court in some capacity.

This probably wouldn’t have happened if Zeke just apologized to the kid like he wanted him to.

That said, I don’t see any reason why the league would change course and suddenly suspend Zeke now.

So now, individuals must apologize the way society dictates, or it is not sincere. Any apology after an offense will not nullify the act.

"Las Vegas District Attorney Office, how can I help you?"

"A famous rich guy pushed me and I want to file charges"

"Where did he push you?"

"On my arm"

"With what?"

"His arm kind of brushed me and I fell over"

*blank stare*

"I'm super serious"

"Sir, have you been drinking?"

That’s not new information, that’s an assumption. And even if you assume a lawsuit, that was never out of the picture anyway. Criminal charges don’t have to be filed for a person to sue. So, again, where is the new information?

He saw that the league did not do anything and now he wants money. Zeke is not getting suspended because that has already been decided. So for the ones saying get ready without Zeke, Ah NO.

Suppose for a minute this kid does sue. There are 2 key questions in my mind.

1. How was he damaged? There were no injuries, no lost wages, no irreparable harm to his reputation... he was a little embarrassed. Are courts going to start giving out big settlements every time someone gets embarrassed?

2. He signed on to be a security guard to deal with behavior at an event. What kind of precedent would it set if every security guard could sue people they were already being compensated to deal with? If the guard received some irreparable harm, I get it, but in the scope of the kinds of things a security guard is hired to deal with, this was a minor incident.

It's interesting that he said the " the NFL and Elliot tried to sweep the incident under the rug." Sounds like he may be going for an even bigger payday by eventually suing the NFL. I don't know what the basis of that would be though. I'm sure his lawyer is full of ideas.

And for his counsel to use the word extortion, one of two things happened:

1) the kid demanded money and was threatened this if he didn't get it - then pressed charges.

or

2) they are confident they can win the case and are playing hardball

Im certain Zeke won't pay this kid a dime. But I have no idea if the NFL will do an about face and suspend Zeke over this.

Because Zeke's council has described this as extortion that suddenly means that an extortion attempt has taken place here?

Because council stated it? Are you joking??

OJ's council also stated he would never kill anyone yet two murdered victims blood were found in his bedroom.

Lol... the NFL's attorneys would roast his local yokel if he tries to poke the bear.

To be fair... OJ won.
This should be interesting.

Please don’t bring unsubstantiated claims of racism into the thread, if we want to rep the topic open. Thanks.

“Sweep it under the rug”.

First of all, it was all over the major sports networks and the NFL and Zeke made statements about it.

Second of all, “sweep it under the rug”. The kid is making it sound like Zeke was running a sex trafficking ring or something. Just a ridiculous thing to say, sweeps it under the rug.
