“To not have anything happen to him, the NFL is basically saying it’s okay to go to Vegas, get obliterated and shove people over fences,” said Johnson.

This seems to undermine any claim to damages he would make in a civil case. He's essentially saying that he was fine with an apology as long as Zeke received punishment from the NFL, which means he had no expectation of monetary compensation for whatever damages he's now claiming.

To add to that, he refused to press charges right after the incident, which is another blow to any claim of damages. He alluded to online harrassment from Cowboys fans, but Zeke has no responsibility whatsoever for the actions of others. If Zeke's attorneys have evidence the kid was trying to get money in lieu of a lawsuit, there's another blow to his credibility.

Couldn’t agree more. Zeke sounds like myself when I was 19 but it only took me 3-4 arrests between the ages of 18-21 to wisen up. I get so po’d because he is so talented but doesn’t get it and the people supporting him only make it worse by minimizing everything he does.

Love Zeke the player, hate Zeke the person. Shut up, focus on football, focus on bettering yourself, drop the belly shirts and purses, party all you want in 10 years when you retire at the ripe age of 33 or so and stay out of trouble for now. It’s not that hard. People who act like this are either entitled, cocky, dumb as hell or all of the above. I believe he is all of the above until he proves otherwise.
LMAO.. I had to clean my computer screen, thanks vodka everywhere.. Do you realize how funny this post was.. Only 3 or 4 arrests to learn... LOL.. I was the same exact way at that age also and it took the same to get it through my thick skull.
Well if we add it up this is incident 4 for him that we know about, lets see if it gets through his head. If I had to guess it would be NO. Why you ask, because he was never arrested for any of this. The only real punishment he has had was sitting out for 6 games. It took you and I being cuffed and stuffed to realize this stuff is real. Whether he has gotten off light because of who he is or just has been lucky. If it was you or I we may have been arrested for at least 2 of these incidents.

Someone mentioned a long time ago that where the first incident happened with his ex that he was royalty in that town because of college and the cops may have went light on him after those serious allegation. The top being pulled up, as long as she was kool with it then no harm. But if that girl wanted a check then she would have gotten paid big time and in light of what he was being investigated for at the time it could have ended his career before it really started. Someone should have sat him down and pointed out to him just how close of a call that was. The bar fight was nothing. But if it was him and he did hit someone (which I don't think he did) then that's a crime and they will sue.. This latest one was really all about nothing but still violence and that kid could have had him arrested that night and laid on the ground and said he was hurt. He isn't realizing this stuff because he hasn't really had to face consequences yet.

EZEKIEL ELLIOTTRB, DALLAS COWBOYS

Ezekiel Elliott's attorneys released a statement claiming the former has been the "target of extortion."
"Over the course of the past several weeks, Mr. Elliott has been the target of extortion," the statement reads. "Kyle Johnson's filing of a criminal complaint against Mr. Elliott in connection with the Las Vegas incident is the latest attempt to do so." The full release can be viewed in the link below. Elliott has already been cleared of any violations stemming from the incident by commissioner Roger Goodell, but Johnson recently pressed battery charges following uneventful consequences. Any further action from his legal team is simply considered legal conjecture. Not in any danger of being suspended, Elliott remains a top-four pick across all formats this upcoming year.

There's more to this. Can't wait for the details on the other extortion attempts to come out.

Is the kid after a pay day sure but EE is dumber than dirt for putting himself in this situation. EE should of already had lawyers contact this kid with a stack of 100s make sure kid is happy and say apology is sincere. I don’t feel sorry for EE and this is just another reason I don’t resign him I just move on. I do believe Roger can reverse his decision as they have with other cases so won’t be surprised if the DA charges him EE goes on commissioner exempt list till the trial then get suspended.
This kid gets paid and we never hear about this again. And goodell wont say a word. If the kid gets him arrested then Elliot may be in trouble. But I think he gets a couple of stacks and some tickets and its done.

I mean the guard. I’m sure he’s worried about the message that it is ok to put your hands on someone. It isn’t the money the guy wants but the right message.

It was sarcasm.
Gotchya, thought you were talking about Zeke in which case I still thought you were being sarcastic.

I wonder if his lawyers just want this to go away and Elliot strokes a check. If he now presses charges can the arrest him. He refused at first. Kind of left a door cracked for future stuff, now it appears he wants money because the NFL isn't punishing him. Who does he think he is, if he thinks fans are getting on him now then just wait. If he winds up having goodell look at this again and he gets suspended then people will lose there minds. I was surprised that he didn't catch a fine.

Somewhat agree. You know what else is “wussy”? A professional football player bullying an 18 year old kid half his size or a DJ or a woman for that matter. I want to see the video of Zeke “accidentally” bumping into a 6’5 320 lb security guard. I want to see video of Zeke standing in the way of a 6’2 260 lb man ready to fight. I want to see Zeke knock out a 6’0 UFC fighter.

So far is list if credentials include women, 18 year old wafer thin teenagers and a DJ who disappears when he turns sideways. Zeke sure acts tough in pads or with people he clearly has a physical advantage over but it’s odd there haven’t been any other incidents with him that include people bigger than he is.
I guess you're ok with someone using the N word.

And when the first public statement Zeke's attorneys make to the press calls this "extortion", the changes the kid did that are extremely high.

Based on Zeke's lawyers' statement regarding extortion, I don't see a check getting cut. I think it hurts his credibility to not press charges while Zeke was detained in handcuffs but then decide to press charges based on Zeke not receiving punishment from his employer.

Amen (and I’m not even religious ;)). I don’t understand how other people don’t see this, it really is mind blowing.

Everything you said is 100% accurate minus the bar fight. I can tell you with 99.9% certainty he laid that DJ out, at least according to someone I know who works very “closely” with that club and was told laughingly by an employee there that said something along the lines of “hell yeah, Zeke hit him, I saw it and cleaned up the blood”. A couple others here who know people that work there said the same. Also, just look at the entire scenario...it’s pretty obvious IMO. Lack of security cameras, lack of witnesses in popular crowded club, DJ gets laid out in a crowded club and no suspects? Lol. DJ is acquaintances with Zeke, doesn’t know who hit him but does know enough to give the police false contact information and disappears fr months after the incident.

I’m no detective but I’m pretty sure if I walked in and knocked that same DJ out on that same night then I wouldn’t have made it 5 feet towards the exit and there would be plenty of security footage and iphone footage. If that happened at a bar in Philly there would be more than enough evidence and flip side, if that were a Philly player here I’m sure the witnesses would be lined up around the block. Zeke barely keeps skating by and if he doesn’t change (not saying it can’t happen) it will eventually catch up to him. Speaking partially from personal experience.

Its the smart move for Zeke, anything that has the lawyers working for any time at all will cost him a couple of hundred grand. If he gives the kid 10K everyone will be happy and he will have the certainty of the issue going away. That is the way most situations like this play out, which is why the kid has legal counsel in the first place.

This is not the first time I heard this, did the guard use the word.. If so then this will not amount to anything other than the guard looking like a dbag.

The alternative: Let bullys roam the landscape, pushing down those they dislike with no repercussions and enjoying the benefits of freedom.

Or... press charges against him while officers have him detained in handcuffs. Winning money in a civil case doesn't take the dangerous, "bully," off the streets.

I really don’t care. Say the kid did try to extort him, does that make what Zeke did any more acceptable? All that means to me is now we have two d bags instead of just the big headed one.

You kinda see this every Sunday when Zeke runs the ball. He certainly doesn't look for smaller guys to pick on or minimum contact while running. I would say he's no coward and probably a kid with minimal anger management control.

Honestly, is it possible that the kid was po’ that he was bullied and looked like a fool but just wanted some sort of punishment or apology and when that didn’t happen he felt slighted?

There are plenty of instances where someone complains about a co worker, neighbor, etc and when they don’t feel the complaint is rectified through the law or company then they get lawyers involved. It haplens with sexual harassment quite often.

Ok, I have never heard this about the DJ. I did notice it went away quickly. So I am guessing that the DJ was well compensated for his black eye. I heard it was a buddy standing next to Elliot or someone came in from behind him. Elliot will end up in major trouble at some point if he don't stop now..

Totally agree with everything except the part about having "minimal anger management control". Total speculation and one should never make such an assumption without facts.

I guess you missed the part where I mentioned pads? I would be less scared of charging an NFL player on the field in pads than charging a scrawny teenage kid wearing a black overcoat at the local high school.
