Afternoon Pops. Afternoon Fellas and good afternoon to all of the folks who make effort to follow this thread.

Man ya'll, I'm glad it Thursday afternoon. Been a little bit of a long week and I'm tired. Friday is around the corner so that's very welcome news for me.

How is everybody, everybody doing OK?

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, I feel like it's been a month since I spoke to any of you. I know it hasn't but seems like a long time. I hope everybody is closing the week up with a bang.

Everybody, in the words of Steve Perry and Journey, "Be Good To Yourself, when no body else will, be good to yourself!"

When @ABQCOWBOY starts quoting Steve Perry, it's time to pay attention. Those seem to be words I needed today, thank you.

Very welcome Xelda. In times like the ones you describe, when the words don't seem to come, I usually just fall back on the time tested, very tried and true method of a shot and a beer. I guess I'm sorta kinda a traditionalist at heart. LOL...........

In the words of Admiral Perry, "This tempura taste a lot like fried fish".

In the words of Katy Perry, "They're pop songs, the lyrics are supposed to be stupid."

In the words of William Perry, aka "The Fridge", "I ate a small town one time".

In the words of Perry the Parrot, he repeated everything above.

Good morning Pops and you cute little weekenders. Well, what shall we discuss today? Naughty children? Naughty Leon? Or maybe just what constitutes "naughty"?

It is defined in the dictionary as disobedience or misbehavior but there's a second, more lascivious definition and even downright nasty, vicious in moral character or wicked. Well, as one who likes to think of himself in a naughty manner, that last one was disturbing and not at all in keeping with the unabridged CC Dictionary or "Nah, that ain't right, here's what that means".

So, when I use that word and it's not about children, and that definition is correct, it's more in the mischievous impish form and completely subjective. There are some cultures that would define kissing as naughty and others with employing the tongue in kissing naughty and I think that's just silly. What does on do with their tongue when kissing? Try to make clucking noises? It was put there for a reason but God didn't know we'd learn to wag them so much.

Naughty is a frame of mind, doing something that you'd prefer not to be caught doing and the act might be perfectly fine but the location or circumstances might not be and pretend naughty is perfectly alright. My wife and I liked to pretend (just sometimes now so don't start calling me kinky and start a whole new post on that definition) that her parents might catch us and one night when we were dating, we did make love underneath their window, which according to my dictionary was not only naughty but had some kink to that as well.

OK, since I brought it up, kinky is defined as unusual sexual behavior but here again, subjectivity raises it's head (from underneath the window of his future in-laws) as to just what that means.

But, I must be honest. Making love in the bushes underneath your future in-laws bedroom window is both naughty and kinky and I am so very proud of that and so was she. That's one of those locked in the vault labeled "Open when smile needed". That's the one you keep closest to you to ward off the memories you don't want and gives you a better choice. And learning to choose memories is the key to dealing with loss. Not as easy as it sounds and it does take vigilance.

Have yourselves a weekend of awe and wonder and be just as naughty as you want.

Morning Coach,

I think we should discuss Pops. After all, that is what the purpose of the thread is. Have a great weekend.

Afternoon ABQ, hard to discuss someone you never knew but if he was opposed to that post, maybe I should not hang out here. If that insults his memory, I do apologize to anyone offended by that as none was meant. And maybe he and I wouldn't have gotten along so well after all.

Auhhh..... but all you need to do is ask. I knew him and many, many others did as well. I would be happy to tell you about him. He was that good a man.

Well, I think I'll just keep keepin' on and assume Pops, while being a good man, had a sense of humor and was not a prude.

Believe what you wish. I would just tell you this. Pops was a school teacher. He impacted the lives of young people for many, many years. Pops was not a prude and he did have a great sense of humor but I believe that he was a person who would elect to view things in terms of what is best for children and family. I believe he would not view things in terms of sacrificing those beliefs for the sake of humor. I mean, he was around kids his whole life. It's who he was. Now, in a less public venue, that's different.

Ultimately it's up to you to how you choose to proceed.
