This thread is about Pollard.

lol, they won't care, they act like they need something else to criticize and villainize and dak seems like a good target

. Like the Lions game when Zeke caught went wide and caught a critical pass off a critical Dak throw when the game is on the line at a critical moment, Dak makes that pass.

but training camp when QBs work and chance their mechanics more than they would in a live game, certain fans will criticize them ... (sigh) its sad ..

I absolutely can't wait for Dak to sign that 35m a year contract. The posts on here from the Dak haters will be priceless...seriously can't wait. I really hope it's sooner than later I'd prefer to lock down our FRANCHISE QB before the season starts.

all these dak blame aside,(sigh) .. this clip gives an great indication of moving pollard around to gain an mismatch advantage vs coverage LBs.
and given that Kellen is a really innovative OC, he will find ways to get BOTH zeke and pollard on the field at same time, this is where Pollard
will gain mismatches, make plays or he will be a decoy that will force a spread out spacing.

Fly-go routes, slot spots, wheel routes, quick bubble screens, jet sweeps, swing passes ..and all designed to quickly get Pollard into open field and space to
gain big play chuck yards downfield.

Wow, either LBs have no chance to cover Pollard or there is something wrong with Jaylon.

Sidenote: If somebody sees this play and focuses on the throw then they might be clueless. Missed throws happen in practice but it looks like Pollard can beat defenders off the line with ease repeatedly. That should be exciting to Cowboys fans.

His career high was 39 Carrie's, receptions was 78. Hes basically a glorified wr!

I digress. Back to Pollard, I think Kellen Moore wants to use him such that whatever the defense does it will be wrong. Pollard vs CB and they run with Pollard blocking or motion him into to the backfield to take a handoff. Pollard vs LB and they throw it to him.

I expect plays to have options based on those types of matchups and they either audible or use RPOs where part of the offense is executing a running play but a couple of the receiving options are executing a pass play. The QB passes or hands off based on the defensive alignment. A versatile runner/receiver/blocker gives the OC many options.

That kind of offense is why you bring in multiple run/catch threats. Olawale, Pollard, Austin, all run/catch threats who can be on the field *with* Zeke.

It's what we should be doing with what we've got. Given history, I'm not that confident that's what they'll do, but I'm hoping.

I've seen 4.41 listed as his pro day. Where are you getting 4.3 from?

4.37 here.

I saw 4.38 somewhere else. Star Telegram, I think.

Those looked like credible sources and articles, though I also discount scout time a few tenths too. Around 4.0 sounds good. We've got a really fast set of WRs and RBs.

Writes off his 4.52 at the combine as a result of food poisoning he got from Chipotle.

It's in official publications like Brugler's draft guide.

The draftscout site had a meltdown this year. Several other websites get their info from them.

That’s not fair. Any receiver in the NFL can make almost any defender look bad one on one. That wouldn’t happen in a real game, he’d have over the top help.
If the defense is in single-high that play is still an issue (with the right throw).

The problem for the LB is that playing off on Pollard in that situation is the last thing he should do.

Based on Pollard's college game footage, he was as good as it get catching passes right at the line out near the sideline and transitioning from catch to acceleration downfield instantly.

Looool, notice the incessant apologetic for Dak.

BTW, it’s Pollard’s fault they didn’t connect, yep, I know.

That was a horrendous overthrow on the pass. No excuses for Dak there. And yah, for 30 million, you better not miss like that.
