Dak can make every throw

There were easily a half dozen throws today where the receiver could have bobbled the ball upward and caused a pick due to it being thrown behind them or under thrown. Today, we got away with everyone of them....next game, who knows. Things have a way of evening out.

The myth that he couldn’t make every throw has been completely busted.

I’m so sorry, haters. I am so, SO sorry.

His career completion % was 66.1 entering today. His career yards/attempt was 7.4 entering today. Both very good figures.

His haters bleated all offseason that those numbers meant nothing.

“EYE TEST!”

“JUST WATCH THE GAMES!”

“HE CAN’T THROW DEEP!”

“DINK AND DAK!”

Oh, and “it was just the Giants!” is not any kind of valid excuse. Dropping DIMES is dropping DIMES, no matter who’s in coverage. It’s not like he was throwing screens out there that our receivers were taking to the house.

I’m sure most of his haters feel like complete dummies right about now... at least the ones who have a shred of football knowledge in their bodies. Because even if they still want to argue that Dak was “average” from 2016-18, they were also SO SURE that Dak could never take that next step.

Welp, it’s early, of course... but it looks like Dak is poised to have a fantastic year in Moore’s pass-first offense.

Now, if these Dak haters are true DALLAS COWBOYS fans, they’ll learn to embrace our franchise QB instead of looking to tear him down every chance they get.

It takes a big man to say, “I was wrong.” I’m sure most of us will be gracious about it. I was dead wrong when I said we shouldn’t bench Drew Bledsoe for Tony Romo, because I thought we’d be throwing in the towel in 2006 by going with Romo. Whoops!

I thought his accuracy & velocity on ball were noticeably better but Giants secondary is trash. Cautiously optimistic until this play out over 8 games to draw conclusion.

You and others have to really stop using the bogus language y’all do. Who the expletive wants Dak to fail? Nobody does people just think he’s average but that isn’t wanting him to fail. 2019 has too many people on this stupid team this or that bs. Nobody hates or wants this dude to fail by saying he’s been an average qb up until this point.
I don't think that Dak is over all "average".He still has some deficiencies in his game, but he has shown some improvement. What makes Dak show flashes of greatness are his intangibles and leadership. While he can't consistently "make all the throws", he can make a lot of them and he keeps getting better. When Dak displays greatness it is because of things that can't be taught. You either have it or don't and Dak has it. I think when you take a snapshot of the guy at this point in his career, he is an upper tier, QB, but not an elite one. At least not yet. He's certainly not average.

What a embarrassing kickoff for the Dak trolls. Their hopes just went out the window in one game. Not sure they will ever recover from this one.

I think the unforced underthrows were down in this game compared to last season. He did catch a break on a few "throw-behinds", but they were all catchable, unlike many from last season. I think as the season goes along, his rapport with his receivers will continue to improve.

And what they failed to do is diagnose where the accuracy issues came from. Basically, sometimes a player is simply inaccurate and although they can improve it a bit, they'll always be inaccurate.

Other players have accuracy issues that are due to footwork or technique or mechanics. Dak appears to be one of those, and those can be corrected.
Kitna seems to have been a great influence.

Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers had the two highest percentages of off target throws last year.

It doesn't matter. Dak wasn't perfect so he is a bum. No amount of justification, statistics or charts will convince otherwise. He missed throws therefore he sucks and can never improve. Everyone else can, but Dak cannot. That is literally the reasoning of the haters.

Combination of Moore and Kitna has really opened Dak up. Dak looked way more confident in his throws. Almost everyone knew Linehan was holding this entire offense back.

I’m interested to see how Moore can gameplan against top 5-7 defenses.
I think this is the big question.

Cry to the mods about it. Some prove objectively that they are haters and they will be designated the title they have earned.
I never cry to the mods. The mods are familiar with me. Only small children use the word "hate". Get over yourself and enjoy the level of football the Cowboys are playing. 1 game down. 15 to go.

Valdez-scandling was wide open lol. They had one scoring drive that was 4 plays. Aaron rodgers sucked and should had been picked off a couple times as well. Do we watch the same games?

Y'all watched the same game ... just through a different set of eyes and life filter. Amazing how that works sometimes.

He did indeed toss a couple short and was behind the receiver three times early. He had less than perfect placement on a few passes. NEWSFLASH! They ALL do.
We got spoiled by Tony in 2014 and watching guys like Brady, Brees and Rodgers. Those guys have had amazing accuracy. Dak (like the many you reference in the "all" caegory) is still a work-in-progress, but he continues to improve. As Cowboys' fans we are lucky to have Dak. A lot of teams have talented, young QBs who haven't accomplished as much as #4.

You are wasting your time @Nav22 . He could, and just might, throw for 4500 yards, 45 TDs and lead the team to the Super Bowl but you still won’t change their minds.

Before it was the “stats don’t matter, just watch the games”, and I suspect the next response will be “he’s only good because he has so many weapons”.

The truth is, and I think you already know this, that the haters have a personal agenda against him. Some still blame him for the retirement of Tony Romo. Some have other reasons.

Regardless, it’s a shame because real fans should be behind any player with a star on their helmet.

I think it bugs many people that the Cowboys found a pro-bowl calibre QB in the 4th round who has started every game since turning pro and has never had a losing record. Yes, it was only the Giants. Guys were open, but as Troy said you still need to make the pass...and Dak made plenty of really good passes. Some were behind receivers slightly ... could be timing issues in a new offence.
