Against a putrid Giants defense, he managed 24 yards on 13 carries. He looked every bit the 4th round pick out of his depth.
There’s no tap the brakes with this kid. If healthy, he gonna take the ball to the house multiple times! And you hear me!

True I think he will get his chances to shine. I can't complain too much however on the performance of the offense. I do think there will be games that Moore gets him more involved.

Yes, Moore is a mismatch guru.

He'll find a way to help Pollard succeed.

In any event, the jury is still out on Pollard.

 sigh, it's been what ONE game, and already the doubting Debbie's have slithered in to once again cast doubt...In my opinion, we have YET to see all this offense can do or will be tasked to do on the field....but that's just me.:muttley:

and this is why we should have never booted Alfred Morris

He got first quarter carries too when it was still a game.

Two attempts in the 1st quarter.

1. A 5 yard gain called back due to a blocking penalty.

2. A run that started with the team backed up to the endzone and Pollard starting from the endzone (2 yard gain).

13 carries for 24 yards is "guy who doesn't belong in the NFL" numbers. A few more games like this one and we'll be calling Alfred Morris back.

I'm not certain if you are trolling or if you are really just incredibly uninformed and don't understand football.

Well, I never thought Pollard was going to be the everydown back a lot of our fan base did. I mean, I figured for a few games, he might be able to do it but not over the course of a season. I always thought he was better suited to coming out of the backfield and catching the ball with the occasional carries thrown in. We have yet to see him used in that capacity. I believe he is completely capable of filling that role and I believe he would be very effective, if used in that way. However, as I've contended throughout (and believe me when I say I hope I am wrong), I hear us say this every year. I see us draft guys to be used in this capacity and it never materializes. I fear that this is what will happen again this year.

Think about it.... Zeke just signed a new big deal. You saw what you saw last Sunday, you think Zeke is going to be OK giving up carries to Pollard with the amount of throws this team will be making this season? I suspect that we will be throwing the ball down field much more this year. Zeke's carries are, more then likely, going to take a hit this year. He's not going like that. I tried to have this conversation earlier in the year but of course, it was a wasted effort. Anyway, I'm affraid that his abilities may, once again, be wasted. I really hope not but gotta see it before I believe it.

He was always going to be used like Kamara is for New Orleans but with a smaller work capacity.

Kamara had a194 carries last year and 80ish receptions.

Zeke had like 300+ carries and 70ish reception.

With Zeke getting such a heavy workload I think a 100-120 carries and 40 catches can happen for Pollard this year.

Still early wanna give the kid a chance but some here(Mostly the Dak-Mob) proclaimed him to be the 2nd Kamara and NP to replace Zeke.
Ya selling Crazy once again reached peak levels here with Pollard.....

He may be good, but you can't judge anything by preseason. The NFL network kept showing how he ran over the Rams practice squad in that preseason game. Real defenses are going to be tougher.

He rarely was put in space to use his speed. Zeke also did zip too. 2 STRAIGHT games Zeke has been shut down. We should tap the breaks on him.

Yea, his one good play was really a difference maker.

Lol.. He had more than 1 play and 3 were big. 2 3rd down conversions and a Td. What he did on the sideline Beasley could never do...lol

The sample size here is exaggerated. 9 carries in the 4th after we had done all our scoring and weren't that interested in getting more. His value is in his speed, running and receiving, from a wide open offense looking to score, not a team looking to close out a game against a stacked defense looking to stop the run.

He wasn't any more effective earlier in the game, but that was only 4 carries, so not quite so definitive as the 13 carries makes out.

It may be right to tap the breaks on him as a TB. And with Zeke signed, his purpose is back to being another complementary run/receiving threat like Cobb and Austin. With Cobb looking pretty good, and Austin having delivered per touch last year, there really isn't a rush for Pollard to deliver anyway.

The TD was a blown coverage, and he didn't do anything Beasley couldn't except break the tackle, which I've always said he's better at.

IIRC, you were saying he's some speed threat, who is going to open defenses up over the top. He didn't do that, he worked the underneath stuff. Good effort though.
