The more I see this list, the more I dislike passing up on S Juan Thornhill. Minkah was ranked worse than Jeff Heath as a Safety last week? Yuck. Pass.

Minkah Fitzpatrick was one of the league's best slot cornerbacks last year. Cowboys don't need a slot CB at this time. Fitzpatrick is too expensive (Dolphins want at least a 1st rounder). Trading Taco (2017 1st rounder) and a 2nd round pick is too much.

I'd consider that a steal if we can add Taco to a 2nd rounder and get 1st round value in return.

We haven't seen Wilson play a regular season game yet.
Doesn't matter. Just comparing their college careers, Fitzpatrick is a way better safety than Wilson. And with one year of NFL seasoning under his belt, I think it's safe to say that he is better than Wilson. Doesn't mean Wilson can't grow to be better, but right now, M.F. is better.

He's worth a first. I think we can get him for a second.
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. He'd love being here too.

One rookie season, unless it's a spectacular one, isn't worth a first, to me, now a second is more like it....

He had a bad game, but you need to see the film on why it was bad. Sure, he got burned by Brown, but it was at corner and there was confusion and deadgive aways by McCain(starting free safety) on where he was going to go presnap.

The Ravens game was poor planning by the coaches and poorly executed by the ragtag team called the Dolphins.
the fact that McCain is rated higher to me is a huge red flag on that list. He's a career corner thrown at FS that has looked bad leading back to preseason.

I’m not so sure that he’s a huge upgrade over Woods, who is just completely nag into his own.

We need to improve by finding a SS who likes to tackle and blitz but can also cover man to man, especially TEs. If this guy was happy to play SS, I’d try to get him, but since he only wants to play FS, I’m not so sure I’d give up much for him.

I'd put Minkah at CB. Taco, Hill, and A.Brown should be enough to snag Minkah.

I don't know if playing them next week helps our hurts our chances if we're interested.

They got a massive haul for Tunsil and they have granted permission for him to leave.

I'm hoping they'll do a 2.

1 is not realistic for us even though we probably won't find a talent like him where we'll be drafting.

If we beat the hell out of them and show we are a great team, that hurts us because they'll assume our pick we send is lower. But it would be an opportunity to showcase talent they might be interested in. Double edged sword.

The price is probably too much with a 2nd thrown in.

And again, if he is vehement about not playing SS.......................... that might be a non starter for us too.

Fitzpatrick sucks as a Safety. Cowboys need to stay away.

Dallas will not give up a draft pick for him, especially a 2nd round pick. They already gave Miami a 6th for Quinn. No way they give away a 2nd round too.
He is not a Cooper and is that huge of a difference maker.

This happened last season forever over ET. Didn't happen. Unless Taco or another player is involved, doubt they trade a draft pick unless it is their 5th or 6th.

Strap in for endless fantasy trade threads involving the 11th pick in last year's draft obtained by trading away players fans don't like. :muttley:

Was a huge fan of Fitzpatrick while he was at Bama.

I said he reminded me a bit of Byron Jones but with more of physical edge and better football instincts.

Just me, but I have a hunch the kid using the multiple position issue as an excuse to get out that rat hole down in Miami. Remember Clowney wanted no part of a trade that would have sent him to Miami. Losing breed losers.....lol

I don't blame him for wanting out, but if I'm Miami I want premium picks for him.

They need to rebuild, and keeping him under his rookie deal isn't out of the question, so they have no reason to just give him away for scrubs.

I would take Fitz even if it meant he would just be our slot corner.
He did well in that role last year and the Cowboys would have him under contract for 2-3 more years at a reasonable hit.

Can't say that I've watched much of him at Miami, but I was a HUGE fan of him in the draft because he was outstanding at Alabama.
