Pure and simple. Him not wanting Dak to throw the ball an rely just on Elliott running the ball was the reason why we lost. The Saints were loading the box. Yet time and again we kept running up the middle.

Moore is not at fault here. This is all on Garrett.
Is it though? Hmmmm?

Not taking up for Garrett, because I could’ve cared less if he was gone after the Ram’s playoff loss.

candy from a baby? in a home game? winning 12-10? and not decided until the last series! wow....the knee jerk over reaction on this board is sometimes over the top..

did Garrett take Peyton's lunch money last year winning 13-10?

Yep, he did.

I don't put the blame on any of our coaches. I blame the players for poor execution. especially on the o-line and d-line.
:hammer:

Fredrick has an awful game. we couldn't stop their pass rush. Williams looked bad and over matched. Cooper got schooled. Dak missed open WRs. witten fumble. zeke fumble.....

Garret actually won that game 10-9

Aints FG at the end of first half should not count. The clock expired

It's Deja vu all over again. They played conservative and not to lose. Kept running Zeke when it wasn't working. If Dak has to wing the ball 45 times to win a ballgame and put points on the board , then so be it. They didn't adapt to how the game was playing out , how many times over the last few years have we seen them keep running Zeke when it obviously isn't working. Then you get the keep everything in front defense out there that can't get the ball back without running 6 or 7 minutes off the clock , only to hand the ball to Zeke for no gain on 1st down.
Coaching Matters. This is a recipe for failure in the playoffs.
we passed 33 times and rushed 19 (designed rush plays)….last drive we had 8 pass plays, so even taking those out of the equation, we rushed 19 and passed 25. Zeke had 18 rushes.

this was more like we got our arse handed to us because the OL couldnt' do their job. they couldn't block. or pass protect. cooper got schooled. zeke fumbled. witten fumbled. Fredrick has a bad game. Williams had a bad game. their DL was in the back field even before zeke could start and dak had 2 second to throw or he had to run out of pocket......

This is not news

That happens practically every game

We are ALWAYS an underdog when it comes to coaching. Can anyone name a game where Garrett out-coached another Head Coach?
Let's suppose Lutz missed one of those FG attempts, and the Cowboys won 10-9 … would that then mean Sean Payton got outcoached?

I said this in another thread, but the Saints total of 22 points over two games against the Cowboys does not speak to them outcoaching the Cowboys. Are those 22 points what we are pointing to as Payton's coaching superiority? The fact is neither team has shown much offense in those games.

I was going to post this last night. Kellen Moore is a hero and gets all the credit when we win but he get's no blame when we lose. Garrett gets no credit when we win and all the blame when we lose. o_O

This loss is on Moore. He was like a deer in the headlights last night.
I have said the same thing..... and I have said it several times over the summer and pre-season...Moore will have to take his lumps. he will be schooled. its how he responds and if he learns and improves that will define him. however, the expectations on this board is a 16-0 season, anything less Garrett gets roasted.

Jason garrett always gets outcoached by the best the coaches in league time after time. we are stuck with him and just the way it is. I see another 8-8 or 10-6 playoff and a one and done in playoffs. that is what the jones family wants.

We've ran play action almost 40% of the time in weeks 1-3. We ran play action 20% of the time last night which is the rate JG/Linehan used PA past few years.

So if the game plan was Moore's last night, why would he drastically do less of what worked great past 3 games all of sudden? Especially when the defense was focused on stopping the run.
play action works if your run game is successful. otherwise its not fooling anyone.

IT did..

Saints are known for stopping the run. The gameplan was to run them into it over and over.

The other guys get paid too and I would think that attacking the Saints weakness instead of their strength would've been much better.

That was the Garrett gameplan from the past several years. Ego driven that we can just run on anyone.

saints defense is 28th against the rush!!!?? so how are they exactly known for stopping the run?

if cooper stopped pushing off and not get penalized and if witten didn't fumble and Cobb could catch....that would be nice.

Why exactly does the jones family want 8-8 or 10-6 and one and done. Explain how they would see that as a benefit to them over 13-3 and a deep playoff run.

After only 3 games, just one poor game against the run can dramatically skew the stats. That's the case with the Saints, who gave up 180 to the Texans on opening day. In 2018 they were #2 in the NFL against the run. That's more indicative of their run defense.

In this article he flat out denies that they insisted on running more on first and second down more than they have in any game this season.. Why change something that has your team averaging 30+ points a game? With the numbers fully showing they did.. Thats insane!!!!

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/201...-more-on-first-and-second-down-in-new-orleans

They may not have "insisted" more on running on first and second down. It may have simply been something they did because Dak was getting a lot of pressure, or something Moore thought he could exploit. Overall they threw the ball in the game a lot more than they ran it.

In any case, it was one game, Moore and the Cowboys will likely learn from it, and hopefully it will work out better in the future.

I've been hearing for 3 weeks how Garrett has been neutered and has nothing to do with the offense. He doesn't do anything on gameday except clap.

Are you saying he took over the playcalling last night?

I can believe that Garrett took over for the "important" game, while giving Moore a longer leash in games where we were clearly the better team. Also can believe that Moore would get all puckered up and conservative in a big game, but that seems less likely to me.

JG has been around for 9.5 seasons now. Are you going to tell me we can't recognize his Signature on Offense? He is a greedy person with a huge ego, he sabotaged Wade. Does anyone really think he likes Moore praised for the past 3 weeks and receiving all the credit? JG hasn't even been complimented at all, so I repeat Moore's duties got a tight leash today.

***!!! Wade sabotaged himself!!! he is a 500 coach always has been and always will be. He's a great DC, not a HC. Garrett had nothing to do with Wade. If you go back and look at all of Wade's HC history you will see that everytime his teams went down hill the longer he coached.
The Oline did not play last night, or they got handles by a very good Dline, the crowd noise had a lot to do with it, among other things, but rest assure Moore was calling those plays, the offensive game plan is made up by Moore, Garrett, Kitna, Dak and others. It is not Garrett's fault
