The Eagles win today hurts more than most seem to realize

The Eagles now only have three games left on their schedule (other than Dallas) that they have a realistic chance of losing. It's their next 3, Chicago, NE and Seattle and ALL are at home. Chicago's offense is inept right now and the Seahawks offense tends to go into a shell on the road. Even if they lose ALL THREE, they're going to be 7-7 when they see us again and close the year out against the Giants.

Barring a huge upset, the Eagles worst case scenario right now is 8-8 and that's IF they lose to us. The problem is we only have two games the rest of the way (the Giants and Commanders) you can say we absolutely SHOULD win. And by the time we face Phill again, we will probably be 8-6 at best. And Philly is already locked in with a better head to head record due to beating both the Jets and Packers.

The Eagles winning today pretty much guarantees that, barring them losing a game as a huge favorite or us going on an unexpected rampage through our schedule, the game in Philly will be for the division title.

My only concern is winning a championship. I couldn't give a crap about winning the division or any other moral victory. The picture you paint above is of two teams not going anywhere anyway, so what's the point? Besides, historically the Cowboys have to be 1st or 2nd seed if they ever want to see an NFC championship game. For whatever reason this team never surprises anyone in the playoffs.

Stop crying. Either Dallas is good enough or they’re not. We’re in first place. Any given Sunday. They lost to the 1-7 falcons , we lost to the 1-7 jets. The giants won’t be easy for us or the Eagles.

Disagree. With Wentz at QB, they aren't a given to win the majority of theur games left.

It only hurts because of our self-inflicted wounds. The Cowboys have put themselves in this mess and they're going to have to get themselves out of it. I refuse to be that fan that's always looking for help via the injury report or from some other team. We all know it takes a tough team to a advance deep into the playoffs, we're about to find out if we have one.

Let's Go Cowboys!

At least know what you’re talking about before you make gloom and doom threads. Record against common opponents is like 4th or 5th down the line in tie breakers

I expected that the Eagles would beat Buffalo. Dallas has to start beating good teams at home and on the road, so if they do make it to the playoffs, they can win.

I pretty much expect that Philly game go be for the division without even looking at the schedules.

Holy crap, we should quit now while we’re 4-3.

The Eagles will win the division

we need to focus on the wild card

need to beat the vikings, bears, and rams if we want to make the playoffs

that goofy loss to the Jets will come back to haunt us.

As us, the Eagles have been inconsistent. There is no guarantee that they will close the season with a winning record resulting in us playing them on the road for the division title. We are coming out of key player injuries and are still acquiring players that can contribute to our team the rest of the way. We are just about half way through the season.

If the cowboys cant win against tough opponents they have no business going to the playoffs

realistically if we get a wild card its going to look like this

round 1 - rams
Round 2 - saints
Round 3 - packers
SB - patriots

Ok.

We got this.

Im putting Philly down for a loss vs Pats and Hawks. Obviously thats not a given. That puts them at 6 losses. If we handle business when we play them again that puts them at 9-7.

If Dallas cant win 10 games this season my thought is we probably dont deserve the playoffs anyways. If we really can contend its past time for this team to get rolling.

We both know there are a ton of variables between now and then though. For example can Wentz actually finish a season without missing some games due to injury?

We're half a game ahead and so far have the win if there were a tiebreaker and there's plenty of season left. Nobody gets the division crown yet. There are way too many factors at play to declare that. Both teams have issues, both teams have their strengths. Dallas controls its destiny. The Eagles need help from Dallas to win the division.

Neither team is showing enough strength to make it to the SB anyway. That could change, but it's not likely.

Championship teams are forged under fire. Bring on the Eagles...as tough as they can muster!!:starspin:

Drama queen diatribe OP. It's one game and the Cowboys are still a half-game ahead of the iggles. Have some faith in your team, man.
which team?

the one that wins, or the one that can't beat the winless?

when your team is a jeckyl and hyde, faith isn't easy to give.
