Zeke was special as a rookie. He's regressed into 2014 Demarco Murray. Still capable of winning the league rushing title and carry the load but not someone we should be offering a big contract too. Missing training camp did not help but he's gone from being a back that ran like he was 10lbs lighter than he actually is to a back that runs like he's 10 lbs heavier.

Whoa. That's disrespectful to our season leading rusher.

Murray wasn't some 4 yards and a cloud of dust rb in 2014. His longest run that year was 51 yards
He started the year with 8 straight 100+ yard games and had 12 100+ yard games.

Maybe you meant Murray first year with the titans

The funny part about baldy's video is that as he was proclaiming Zeke's demise I still didn't see anywhere for him to run. He could've made that same video with a brick wall in front of Zeke and it would've been the same to me. Lol.

Blame your Clapper. Baldinger played under Tom Landry and he went through the film humiliation that Zeke should be given now. Over and over and over again Zeke should be showed this until he feels the urgency and humiliation to meet the challenge and help his team.

Tom Landry is dead, Jimmy Johnson is retired, and Bill Parcells is at the horse race. So nothing will change.

It may be possible Zeke is hurting and playing through something. The power and the burst just aren’t elite right now... and his vision is off— he seems hesitant.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt— but I think Baldy is right: this team needs him to play better. Elite backs are able to make something out of nothing— can’t blame this on the OL.

He wanted to be paid as the best RB in football— he needs to produce like it.

Then why give him the ball when they could not stop Randall, Gallup, and Cooper. You have no head coach and you have an unqualified OC.

Agree. The playcalling was awful. But they are operating from the assumption that Zeke is elite. Therefore they expect him to be their best option when the game is on the line— and they are paying him that way.

Until they adjust their expectations or he raises his production— we are going to struggle. Good leaders don’t bury their head in the sand and go into denial mode— THAT is why I have very little confidence that this team will course correct and find any sunlight this season

Lol....he just took film from the Vikings game and there were gaping holes and plays. Shut up and educate yourself. Watch the video.
What are you 7? Educate? Lmao.
By the way, it wasn't just the Vikings game in the video tough guy, what were you watching? I saw play designs primarily stuffed, so your gaping hole theory is flimsy. Elliott could do better, but he's met with defenders more than not against the better D lines. Hope your feelings rebound.

I know it's another Zeke thread but this confirms what I posted about how Zeke doesn't attack the edges anymore.
I haven't seen him try to out run the LB/Safeties to the sidelines and turn the corner for a big gain like he used to.

This is why I really wish our contracts would be based on performance incentives. Make him the highest paid RB ever but make him deliver to get the $. Now we have a guy who may be past his prime or may just be comfortable. Whatever the reason he isn't playing up to his contract. Now what do you do about it after you paid him a good chunk of the cap? For all of the people he deserves what he can get, how do you like him now?

The O line, run blocking-wise has been par at best. There are issues no one wants to talk about.
When you hand a RB $50M and make him the highest paid at the position, he has to bring something ultra special to the field. There are more productive RBs running behind much worse OLs than Zeke. It's painfully obvious Zeke has declined as a player from last year. Given his punishing style and the load he has carried, it's not surprising. It's also not surprising that Jerry was willing to overpay for one the worst investments in football, a RB. Zeke is not among the few immortals we have seen at the position.

I will also add that I think the OL coaching for the Cowboys has been among the worst in the league since Callahan left.

That's what I got. There were a couple holes here and there, but you can see the second level defender filling it quickly. And Elliott was stuffed at the point of attack nearly every run. The O line was not good.

Did y’all watch the video, he’s talking about Zeek just take it commit. There is literally no holes or running room in all of those runs. Has he had the same burst as when he was a rookie? No..do u have same burst as when u were first married..exactly. But just like Zeek is getting paid so is this Oline, Connor does not fit power run scheme especially going against some of best dlines in the league. With all that being said I would love to see Pollard run more

Sorry. I'm not a huge Zeke fan, but the O line was hot garbage. To suggest holes should be developed due to salary like the red sea got split is stupid. Christ sake, watch the game. There was nowhere to run. Plus the play calling had him getting the ball at a dead stop. If you watch, the middle was bad. Fred included, but specifically Williams. I guess he's getting a scope? Not sure when he go injured, but anyone thinking he's any better than a back up Guard is silly.
Again, Elliott isn't fault free. But we've seen games the O line did well run blocking. This was one of a few they were junk.

He's being paid like the best TB in football. He's not playing nearly like even a Top 5 TB. He lacks explosiveness and speed, he can't get outside anymore and beat someone to the corner like he could 3 years ago.

Blame the OL all you want, they have not been good, but the skill set Elliott is showing right is eye opening given we are months from handing him a massive contract. Especially when people warned that this is the exact reason why shouldn't give a huge contract.................

If there isn't anywhere to run, no RB in the league is going to simply bust through multiple defenders before he even crosses the line of scrimmage. The O line is par at best against good defenses as we've seen all season long. Williams is horrible, Smith and Collins aren't 100%, neither is Martin and Fred doesn't look elite like normal. I just don't understand how this gets dismissed and Elliott is the sole culprit.

This right there just shows you how dumb it was paying him what we did. We just gave a TB a record contract and only 4 years into his career he's already lost his burst?

I am blaming the O line. I couldn't care less about a salary and to me that's a moot point. The O line is bad against better defenses. Has been all season. It's obvious.
