After news reports that Gregory would file for reinstatement, we've heard pretty much nothing about him. I think at this point we have to assume he is not coming back in 2019. I suppose that would mean any return would be unlikely and Gregory's troubled career is over.
I have searched the web for news and there really isn't any, just some speculation. Gregory was just starting to look like a good player in 2018 when he was suspended again.
I find it hard to believe that Gregory's only problem is he can't stop smoking weed. There has to be more to it. Gregory was suspended for a year in 2017 for smoking weed, the same suspension Myles Garrett got for ripping the helmet off another player and trying to bash his skull in with it? Albert Haynesworth, who was also a troubled player, got two games for stomping on the helmetless head of Andre Gurode. As I recall, that wasn't his first run-in with the rules either.
I am assuming Gregory will never play another down for the Cowboys. But I would love to know what the problem is and why the Cowboys missed it when they drafted him thinking they outsmarted the rest of the league.
Gregory fails a drug test while already on suspension and that is why his was changed to indefinite suspension. Garrett got that right off the bat. I don't agree with Garrett's suspension being indefinite. A 6 game or even just the remainder of this season but not indefinite. If you look Garrett hit the QB with the padding and was little change of any serious injury. Now if Garrett hit him with the crown of the helmet I'd say indefinite, but not for hitting with the padded end.
