I would take Dak over Wentz any day of the week & Wentz is a bust at 27 million a year

No one is above reproach after the way this season has gone. Dak has poo'ed the bed two games in a row IMO and I am a huge Dak supporter. I remember him freely bashing Romo, well he deserves 100% being bashed right now.

TBH, if all Dak homers were as fair as you, more than half the board would stop bashing the guy..

It's the guys that claim he's perfect and it's never his fault that make guys like Pappy step in lol

It's called being "objective". A missing quality in many unfortunately..

well let's not GOFF like the Rams fans think their team did. Last year the Rams QB and coach were the best...not so much in 2019 though

If they are set on keeping him, just franchise him, while drafting a QB..

The Rams gave Goff a 100 million dollar extension... The writing was on the wall last year that without a rushing attack, the offense was figured out, and Goff was going to struggle.. their OL is also battered, but they stil struggled last year by the end of the season in their passing attack, so the OL is probably partly an excuse..

not at the price he wants, he is too dependent on the pieces around him and things being “perfect” to pay him huge money. he’s also just not that good any way, his way too limited.
I agree with not signing him for his current price tag but dak is the kind of guy to definitely be open to lowering his price be for the sake of the team as he already has. i am completely mind boggled on him being “limited” but even more about him not being good. If we had coaching and recievers that did their job (catching the football) not only would his interceptions be lower but we would also have won at least 3 games that we didn’t. that would put the team at 9-3 and dak would without a doubt be in the top 3 running for MVP.

i have a different opinion on this , dak is worth more than just a franchise tag we aren’t talking about d-law here. He as the QB is obviously more valuable to the team and has proved that he’s worth keeping. there is absolutely no reason to roll the dice and possibly waste a draft pick on another quarterback when you have one under center right now. let me remind you that jared goff was the #1 overall pick and the cowboys STOLE an overlooked Dak in the 4th round. the cowboys already saved at least 15 mill on him according to his stats by dodging the big signing bonus that comes with being a high draft pick. according to what you said dak would be more valuable to the team then jared goff is to his simply because the cowboys do have a rushing attack.

Yes,not at higher than should be. TD to TO ratio not good enough for me. But yes, sign him...get good value if season continues this way. Or tag if not sure....I wouldn’t do what they did again,in overpaying. They have a habit of doing that. It sets a bad precedence that it’s not about team but about stars playing to make money. You can’t look at your team as roster of talent and stars. We can it’s fun...but they should be focused on building a winning team in NFL.

Off the top of my head I can think of at least 9 turnovers this season that weren’t his

The games we have lost simply come down to being unprepared. That’s coaching and nothing else. We are out coached in every facet of the game weekly. You can get away with it when the team is below .500 but you cant beat solid teams with good coaching and no game plan.

One component missing from this discussion is the price.

If we are talking $27 to $30 a season, I am way more willing to sign Dak than if we are talking $35+ a year, that's a hard pass for me.

Dak is good, comparable to Qbs like Kirk Cousins, Wentz, Goeff, ect…..that is the $27 to $30 range.

Dak is not a top 5 QB that takes over games like Russel Wilson, Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, ect...that is the $35+ range.

I like Dak, but l think the Cowboys were right not to sign him yet. I'd tag him next year. He doesn't deserve a monster contract until he can compete with the big boys...

Tag him for what?

He isnt it. Move on
If he isn’t it , then what is? quit looking for a tom brady, drew bree’s, etc. he was a 4th round pick for god’s sake and he exceeds his expectation by 3,000 miles. 2 playoff appearances out of 3 years , best rookie QB season of ALL-TIME , if the boys had coaching and if he didn’t have at least 4 picks because of receivers they’re 9-3 and dak is top 3 in the MVP race.......

big boys!?!! The dude was considered in some people’s mind ( not cowboys fans) a mvp candidate until at least last week. big boys!!?! he had the best rookie QB season of all time. He can without a doubt compete with top players in the league. leads the league in passing , and to everyone who thinks he can’t throw down field ( and i can’t remember exactly ) he’s top 3 in yards per attempt.

I have been a Dak homer the whole time, but I had doubts I wanted answered this year..early in the year I thought he silenced those doubts, but now some doubts are coming back. Sadly, he's falling into the same trap Romo did...having to try to do too much to overcome bland coaching, a defense that struggles to make stops, and players that just don't care so drop balls more, etc....still, he's making mistakes that he shouldn't.

Here is my updated take on Dak.
Dak has improved and is a decent QB. He is working hard to get better and I like his toughness and leadership. Some may not like hearing it but he is a franchise QB and is worth signing at the right price. You cannot pay him 34 mil a year and he isnt going to accept 24 mil a year. I think the number is somewhere around 30.
Dak is the least of the Cowboys problems.

My Dak Update :

I couldn't care less right now .
Because we don't know if Dak is super talented or just talented; because he has been under the Garrett umbrella .
& I feel this staff hasn't used his strengths like they should, they just play what the defense gives them.

We haven't beat a team with a winning record. I'm a big Dak supporter, but the last 2 weeks were big games and he didn't show up. He needs to protect the ball better. The game against the Bill's is the first time I've felt he was scared. I want to see him with better coaching.

Franchise tag is going to be about $35 mil.

Do we really want to do that ???
